The US has commenced the development of a new intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) hypersonic vehicle, seen by some analysts as the successor to the vaunted SR-71 Blackbird spy plane of Cold War fame. Last week, The Warzone reported that the US Air Force had awarded Leidos a contract with a US$334 million price ceiling aimed at “delivering a larger class air-breathing hypersonic system capable of executing multiple missions with a standardized payload interface, providing a significant technological advancement and future capability,” as stated in the contract quoted in the report. It also notes that Leidos shall do work at...

Former President Donald Trump addressed an audience gathered at his Mar-a-Lago club and estate in Palm Beach, Fla., Thursday night for the Log Cabin Republicans’ Spirit of Lincoln gala, the conservative LGBTQ group’s flagship event. “We are fighting for the gay community, and we are fighting and fighting hard,” Trump said. “Last night, we had over 450 LGBT conservatives and our straight allies join us for another amazing Spirit of Lincoln gala,” Log Cabin Republicans President Charles Moran told the Washington Blade. “While the speakers and award honorees spanned the conservative spectrum, all of them, including President Trump, articulated a...

The national director of Priests for Life, Frank Pavone, canceled a scheduled livestreamed Mass today, one day after CNA published a report that he was continuing to celebrate Mass after the Vatican had removed him from the priesthood. In a defiant statement addressed to Church leaders and posted on his organization’s website Saturday, Pavone vowed to continue his ministry despite his dismissal from the clerical state. “It’s about the millions of supporters of the movement I help to lead and will continue to lead,” he wrote, adding that he would respond by taking “all appropriate canonical and civil action as...

On May 22, 2022, visitors at Yellowstone national park witnessed a common, but seldom seen, killing of a young grizzly by a much larger adult boar. The mother of the young bear was also seen attacking the offspring. Some people think she was attempting to convince the young bear to leave the area. The mortal wounding of the young bear, which was the size of an average human, (about 150 lbs) is brutal. The speed and power of the attack are sobering to watch. The video shows how immensely powerful a boar grizzly is. This boar was estimated at over 500...

Donald Trump Jr. was among hundreds of New York Times readers who slammed the newspaper for their crossword puzzle on Sunday - which many noticed bore an uncanny resemblance to a Nazi swastika. The puzzle's silhouette has caused a stir on social media, with several prominent Jewish leaders and political figures taking to social media to voice their outrage - especially since it was published on the first night of Hanukkah.

A man wanted to get married. He was having trouble choosing among three likely candidates. He gives each woman a present of $5,000 and watches to see what they do with the money. The first does a total makeover. She goes to a fancy beauty salon, gets her hair done, new makeup; buys several new outfits and dresses up very nicely for the man. She tells him that she has done this to be more attractive for him because she loves him so much. The man was impressed. The second goes shopping to buy the man gifts. She gets him...

PHOENIX, Ariz. – Former television newscaster and failed Republican candidate for governor Kari Lake hinted at violence to a crowd of thousands of conservative activists Sunday, continuing her claim that she had really won last month. “On Nov. 8, they committed highway robbery,” she said, to chants of “Kari! Kari!” Lake, who has sued elections administrators alleging fraud, called the Maricopa County elections system a “house of cards” that she promised to take down. “I’m not just going to knock that house of cards over. We’re going to burn it to the ground,” she said. “They messed with the wrong...

Finally, my unvaxxed self caught COVID about two weeks ago, and the meeting was uneventful. Horror stories I’d heard seemed even more remote and fictional as I experienced symptoms like a very mild flu. 3 or 4 days cleared it up. I’ve had colds lasting longer. I’m more convinced than ever that going to an ER and getting admitted is the death sentence.

New battle lines are being drawn in the US by a right-wing Christian movement set on what it sees as its divine mission - to spread its beliefs and messages using political power. So what is Christian nationalism and why is it flourishing now?/... ...God and country is one of the oldest and most influential currents in US politics. It ebbs and flows throughout American history. It's at high tide now because conservative Christians feel they're on the losing end of demographic and cultural changes. .... ...What's different now about such Christian political activism is that the country is no...

The Biden White House has so far remained silent as it weighs whether to block the release of a trove of documents from the Obama administration that may contain information about Hunter Biden's relationship with the Ukrainian energy company Burisma. The National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) informed the White House on Nov. 30 that it will soon release nearly 300 email messages in response to Freedom of Information of Act (FOIA) requests for emails that contain the word "Burisma," Insider reported. The Biden administration may stop the release of these records by invoking executive privilege, but the White House...

SALEM, Ore. (AP) — A Republican state senator who once led Oregon’s GOP party, and who railed against pandemic safety measures, Democratic senators and even members of his own party, has abruptly resigned as a lawmaker. And so ends, at least for now, the stormy political career of Sen. Dallas Heard, a lawmaker from rural southwest Oregon who said Thursday that his resignation is effective on Jan. 1, in the middle of his four-year term.... ...Oregon state Rep. David Brock Smith, a Republican from southwest Oregon, said Friday that he wants to succeed Heard....

WASHINGTON (AP) — For two years, Becky Mourey pushed the Food and Drug Administration to approve an experimental drug for her Lou Gehrig’s disease. She went to members of Congress and health regulators to make the case for Relyvrio, until patient-advocates finally prevailed. In September, Relyvrio became only the third drug approved in the U.S. for ALS, or amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, an incurable neurodegenerative disease that is usually fatal within five years. But patients and physicians who celebrated Relyvrio’s approval several months ago are now contending with the obstacles posed by the U.S. health care system. Their odyssey is an...

Ronna McDaniel’s path to another two-year term leading the Republican National Committee faces a major obstacle: Some of the loudest voices in the conservative movement are calling for her to go. . . . . Since the midterms, RNC members say their inboxes have been clogged with hundreds of emails each week — and the uproar has now turned to the RNC’s spending on events, private travel, luxury accommodations and other expenses in an election cycle that didn’t deliver strong GOP wins. McDaniel’s top opponent is Harmeet Dhillon, an RNC committeewoman from California and election law attorney who has represented...

Much of the United States will either get a White Christmas or a bitterly cold one, as the forecasts for the country see snowstorms and temperatures in the deep south as low as the 20s. Forecasters are warning of treacherous holiday travel and life-threatening cold for much of the nation as an arctic air mass blows into the already-frigid southern United States, with experts predicting the 'coldest Christmas in years.' The coming week has the potential for 'the coldest air of the season' as the strong artic front marches across the eastern two-thirds of the country in the days before...
