At a rally for U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock (D-GA) in Atlanta on Thursday, former President Barack Obama took aim at his Republican opponent Herschel Walker for saying "crazy stuff" like talking about vampires and werewolves and claiming the two played basketball. "Since the last time I was here, apparently, he also claimed that he used to let me beat him at basketball," Obama told the audience. "But then he admitted that we have never actually met. So I guess this was more of an imaginary whooping that I laid on him."

WASHINGTON (AP) — To help Democrats win their 51st Senate seat in a Georgia runoff election, President Joe Biden is headed to ... Massachusetts? Days before polls close on Tuesday, Biden still has no plans to visit Georgia. Instead he’ll aim to help Sen. Raphael Warnock’s reelection campaign from afar with appearances Friday at a Boston phone bank and fundraiser. They mark the culmination of Biden’s support-from-a-distance strategy that he employed throughout the midterms and that his aides credit with helping his party beat expectations in key races. Biden was set to join a phone bank run by the International...

The Kremlin on Friday rejected U.S. President Joe Biden’s conditions that Russian troops fully withdraw from Ukraine before he speak with President Vladimir Putin. In the strongest suggestion so far that he would be prepared to sit down with Putin, Biden said late Thursday he would be willing to speak to the Russian leader for the first time since the Ukraine invasion if he truly wants to end the war. "There's one way for this war to end — the rational way. Putin to pull out of Ukraine, number one. But it appears he's not," Biden said. Putin’s spokesman Dmitry...

(Reuters) - Turmoil in the cryptocurrency industry has rattled major exchanges and sent the value of digital assets tumbling, but at least one group stands to gain: bankruptcy lawyers. High-profile bankruptcies involving crypto exchange FTX, hedge fund Three Arrows Capital and crypto lenders BlockFi, Celsius Network and Voyager Digital Ltd are generating new opportunities - and big fees - for law firms that counsel troubled companies. Large law firms can rake in more than $100 million in legal fees during a long-running bankruptcy, experts said. “You’ve got to pay the gravedigger,” said Adam Levitin, a law professor at Georgetown University...

[Twitter/Screenshot/Public — User: @ChrisMcCulleyTV] And here’s the kicker: He threw five touchdowns in the championship, and earned the game’s MVP award. When Thompson High School starting quarterback Zach Sims — who has received scholarship offers from both Pittsburgh and Louisville — was sidelined with an injury late in the season, Warriors backup quarterback Trent Seaborn took over the starting role. Seaborn ultimately took his team to the AHSAA Super 7 Class 7A Championship game against Auburn High School, getting a blowout 49-24 victory to hook his entire team up with championship rings. It’s also Thompson’s fourth straight state title. Stats...

Pray For The Peace of JerusalemMatthew 16 The Demand for a Sign 16 The Pharisees and Sadducees came to Jesus and tested him by asking him to show them a sign from heaven. 2 He replied, “When evening comes, you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red,’ 3 and in the morning, ‘Today it will be stormy, for the sky is red and overcast.’ You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times.[a] 4 A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a sign, but none will...

California Governor Gavin Newsom has entertained the idea of giving reparations to African American citizens of California in the last two years. He commissioned a Reparations Task Force to decide how much African-Americans should receive in reparations and what offenses white people supposedly committed that would merit the reparation payments. The offenses that they have come up with so far include, of course, slavery, housing discrimination, mass incarceration, and ‘devaluation’ of black businesses and health care. The committee suggested a high price tag of $223,200 for each African American citizen of California, which would cost the state $569 Billion. According...

When Meera Sanghani-Jorgensen was in her 30s, she and her husband began to discuss having children. They both wanted to have kids, but Sanghani-Jorgensen couldn’t shake the feeling that, by giving birth, she might be doing something bad for the earth. “I wanted to have a child, but I was also looking at the planet and thinking: ‘Well, what kind of future will we have if there’s more of the same?’ ” she said. She thought about the diapers, the party favors, the toys, and the billions of tons of carbon emissions warming the planet every year. She felt weighed...

Perlman said that conventional wisdom poses centralised systems as “bad” and decentralized as “good,” however decentralized entities are inherently problematic in multiple ways. “Blockchain as a buzzword started as the technology behind Bitcoin. People made money on Bitcoin and the more hyped it was, the more start-ups leveraged the hype to claim their product has something to do with Blockchain” explained Perlman. “If you hear so much hype, eventually you assume well, it must be incredibly...
