Barack Obama visited the White House for the first time since he left office on Tuesday. He was there to celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, as well as to watch President Biden sign an executive order aimed at improving the law. Obama’s return created plenty of commotion, and for Fox News and the rest of the right-wing ecosphere, a fresh opportunity to cast Biden as a weaker, watered-down version of the former president. The Republican National Committee shared two clips of the visit that quickly went viral. The first shows an ostensibly confused Biden ambling around...

“‘Whoever then annuls one of the least of these commandments, and teaches others to do the same, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven’” (Matthew 5:19). The result of a believer’s practicing or teaching disobedience of any part of Scripture is to “be called least in the kingdom of heaven.” “Called” does not refer merely to what people say about us, but what God says about us. Others usually know nothing of or don’t care about our disobedience, but God always knows and cares. It is completely God’s prerogative to determine rank in His kingdom (cf. Matt. 20:23)....

Trial testimony: Vatican wanted to pay off London brokerVATICAN CITY (AP) — The former head of the Vatican’s financial watchdog testified Tuesday that the agency launched an intelligence investigation into a suspicious London real estate deal after it learned about it but had no power to stop the Vatican secretariat of state from concluding it. The testimony by defendant Rene Bruelhart in the Vatican’s big fraud and extortion trial again put the spotlight on Pope Francis and the No. 2 in the secretariat of state, Archbishop Edgar Pena Parra, who Bruelhart said made clear the deal had to be concluded...

These words of Jesus touch my soul: “Therefore do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things” (Matthew 6:31-32, NKJV). Jesus is warning about the heathen tendency to worry. He tells us that worry over our job, family, future or survival is a heathen’s way of living. It is the attitude of those who have no heavenly Father. They do not know God as he desires to be known, as a caring,...

The boss of CNN’s incoming parent company is taking aim at Brian Stelter. John Malone, the biggest shareholder of Discovery, harshly criticized Stelter in an informal meeting of the company’s executives, according to a report. Discovery is completing a merger with WarnerMedia, CNN’s current parent company. “I would like to see CNN evolve back to the kind of journalism that it started with, and actually have journalists, which would be unique and refreshing,” said Malone in a November CNBC interview The ratings of Stelter’s “Reliable Sources” have been dismal in the aftermath of the Trump era, with the weekend host...

Barack Obama made his first visit to the White House since he was President despite living very close by. The purported reason for the visit was to help Biden push for the Affordable Care Act. That really wasn't the reason. Obama spent a lot of time glad handing visitors and lost in the reverie was the current President. This video says it all. https://youtu.be/QGRxVITBGOAIt was kind of a "what about me?" moment. Biden did look lost. No one seemed to care that he was even alive, let alone present. The country learned who the real President is and how little...

@thehill Rep. Kevin McCarthy: "The riot on Jan. 6th was wrong. Any violence on that day should be punished. But make no mistake, the Democrats' response is also wrong. For 15 months, Democrats have used Jan. 6th as a blank check to trample on civil rights and congressional norms."

Gang violence is “at the center” of Sunday’s shooting, where six people were killed and 12 injured in downtown Sacramento. On Wednesday, police said there are at least five shooters and the dispute happened between two groups of men. They said the number of known shooters could grow as the investigation unfolds. Court records and police show at least two of the men killed were believed to be gang members. Sacramento Superior Court documents refer to Sergio Harris, a 38-year-old man who was killed, as a member of the Del Paso Bloods. Salinas police have identified another victim, Josh Hoye-Lucchesi,...

The House Freedom Caucus has endorsed a failed GOP establishment candidate backed by Liz Cheney and Kevin McCarthy for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th District, throwing their support behind former Mitt Romney staffer Jim Bognet, who lost the race for the same seat in 2020. Bognet, a former Mitt Romney and John McCain staffer who has had his congressional ambitions backed by Liz Cheney and Kevin McCarthy, lost the 2020 race for the 8th District seat to Democrat Rep. Matt Cartwright. Back then, Bognet was the clear establishment candidate in a wide GOP primary field and used a pro-establishment PAC run...

Inflation is the biggest threat to Joe Biden’s presidency. Prices are rising nearly 8% per year, and could go higher still before Federal Reserve rate hikes or other measures bring some relief to family budgets.

Wednesday on ABC’s “The View,” the co-hosts argued with guest co-host and former Trump spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham over the issue of immigration. Grisham said, “I come from a border state, so I can speak to it pretty well. Arizona, 20 years I lived there, and I’ve seen what open border policies can do to the country and to the people who are trying to get into this country.”

Explanation: Is Earendel the farthest star yet discovered? This scientific possibility started when the Hubble Space Telescope observed a huge cluster of galaxies. The gravitational lens effect of this cluster was seen to magnify and distort a galaxy far in the background. This distorted background galaxy -- so far away it has a redshift of 6.2 -- appears in the featured image as a long red string, while beads on that string are likely to be star clusters. The galaxy cluster lens creates a line of maximum magnification line where superposed background objects may appear magnified many thousands of times....

Former GOP Gov. Sarah Palin is running for the state's at-large seat left vacant by the death of longtime Republican Rep. Don Young, and I have no idea whether she is going to win or not. To be clear, Palin starts out in an enviable position. The primary and general election are in two months (June) and four months (August) respectively. This leaves little time for most candidates to build name recognition and gives a well-known former governor a leg up on the competition. .... A new election system Alaska, though, isn't conducting its elections like other states, and Palin...

Matt Mowers is a guy with a potential problem on his hands. He was previously a senior adviser in the Trump administration and now he’s running for Congress in New Hampshire in the Republican primary. But some oppo research by his prospective opponent’s staff revealed an “irregularity” in Mowers’ voting record. In the 2016 election, he cast an absentee ballot in the New Hampshire primary, presumably for Chris Christie because he was working as Christie’s campaign director in that state. But after Christie dropped out, Mowers relocated to New Jersey, filing a change of address to his parents’ home in...
