Gang violence is “at the center” of Sunday’s shooting, where six people were killed and 12 injured in downtown Sacramento.
On Wednesday, police said there are at least five shooters and the dispute happened between two groups of men. They said the number of known shooters could grow as the investigation unfolds.
Court records and police show at least two of the men killed were believed to be gang members.
Sacramento Superior Court documents refer to Sergio Harris, a 38-year-old man who was killed, as a member of the Del Paso Bloods. Salinas police have identified another victim, Josh Hoye-Lucchesi, as a member of the Crips.
Detectives still are working to identify gang affiliations for others who may have been involved.

The machine gun bit is probably a "Glock Switch", which has become super-popular with the gang types over the past couple of years.

I live in the TV news area of this shooting at first all you heard was how this was a loving 38-year-old family man who was a victim of random gun violence, and we need as a community to have a serious discussion of gun control, the usual BS.
I’m in Sacramento, too. And you’re right that the first thing you heard on Sunday morning was that the 38yo guy was a saint who loved small animals, his mother, his kids, and he was known to help old ladies cross the street while singing hymns.
And then the litany of gun control BS started to flow.
Now that it’s come out that the three perps arrested so far used stolen guns and an illegal fully automatic weapon (likely from Mexico) I suspect the gun control hysteria will die off. Existing laws that would supposedly prevent this crime had no effect...especially on the felon who was released seven years early into a 10-year prison sentence.
Okay, then...
It is obvious that peaceful taxpaying citizens need to have their 2nd Amendment protections permanently removed or further emasculated...
