The House Freedom Caucus has endorsed a failed GOP establishment candidate backed by Liz Cheney and Kevin McCarthy for Congress in Pennsylvania’s 8th District, throwing their support behind former Mitt Romney staffer Jim Bognet, who lost the race for the same seat in 2020.
Bognet, a former Mitt Romney and John McCain staffer who has had his congressional ambitions backed by Liz Cheney and Kevin McCarthy, lost the 2020 race for the 8th District seat to Democrat Rep. Matt Cartwright. Back then, Bognet was the clear establishment candidate in a wide GOP primary field and used a pro-establishment PAC run by his family and friends to launch attacks on his opponents. The attacks created a major divide between Bognet and the grassroots voters who back President Trump, a group he already struggled to connect with thanks to his reputation as a DC insider.
As voters in the 8th District have learned, before his run for Congress, Bognet spent virtually his entire adult life inside the GOP and uni-party establishment, even helping to launch the political career of anti-Trump Californian Arnold Schwarzenegger, a prominent supporter of COVID-19 mask and vaccine mandates. More recently, Bognet worked at a Democrat-founded lobbying firm, The Glover Park Group, and despite his claims of being a Trump supporter, Bognet didn’t even vote in the 2016 Presidential Election as the Trump movement triumphed over Hillary Clinton and the political establishment.

I can’t imagine my congresscritter making such an endorsement, and he is the Freedom Caucus leader. I also didn’t realize the Freedom Caucus made endorsements. I wonder what MTG has to say about this.

Initially, the HFC said “No” to Paul Ryan. They held out for better, and were pilloried by the msm, people HERE ON FR, and Rinos everywhere. Mitch McConnell gave interviews on how awful the HFC was. And he wasn’t alone.
Know how bad it was? They hid their membership list for years, so that R leadership could not easily retaliate. The HFC was one of our few bastions against the Uniparty. And they were HATED by the uniparty and msm. Still are.
Ron Desantis is a Founding Member of the HFC. Ever heard of him? He was my guy in the House. During the Paul Ryan fiasco, I called his office about it. Said, “No way!” to the swampy Ryan. Desantis called me back. Surprise!
We spent maybe 15 mins on the phone. He explained to me the backdealing, backstabbing, and herding of cats involved. Said the HFC held out as long as they could. They truly did. The pressure was enormous, and they were already getting retaliation. Pulled back campaign money by the RNC was just one...not going to go into details, but it was eye opening.
They did extract concessions before voting for him. Things like rotating committee assignments, term limits for Committee Chairs, pledge to limit pork. Go look it up. I was there.
The HFC is an amazing band of Patriots. Some of its members are still kept secret. They still get crap from the Uniparty. And buffooons who post on conservative boards who have no idea what they’re talking about. External enemies we can handle. It’s the internal ones that bring down empires.
I’ll wait for the truth on this one. Smells like BS to me. It’s the season of fake endorsements claimed and scammed by Uniparty creatures.

This smells like election propagands of taking a bit here, a bit there, and using inferences to declare a given result. When was this guy endorsed by these people? 2020? Did he lose in PA because of the cheating?
