The fish may have been accidentally dumped into the lagoon 20 years ago, one expert said. But unlike Chance the Snapper, who experts quickly determined was an illegal pet released into the pond, Knize’s catch raises environmental questions: How did an enormous carp — an invasive species — get into the manmade lagoon? And what does its presence mean for the urban pond and vulnerable Lake Michigan? Knize and his neighbor fought to get the beast out of the water, maneuvering it toward them as it tried to swim away. After 30 minutes of wrangling, they finally got it to...

Explanation: What happening above that volcano? Something very unusual -- a volcanic light pillar. More typically, light pillars are caused by sunlight and so appear as a bright column that extends upward above a rising or setting Sun. Alternatively, other light pillars -- some quite colorful -- have been recorded above street and house lights. This light pillar, though, was illuminated by the red light emitted by the glowing magma of an erupting volcano. The volcano is Italy's Mount Etna, and the featured image was captured with a single shot a few hours after sunset in mid-June. Freezing temperatures above...

In a video posted on November 13, comedian Rémi Gaillard reveals the deception. The story has been put together and driven by him. The curious light beam was in fact a drone equipped with a diode, and the witnesses of the accomplices ready to relay the information. Her hoax was staged with a meteorologist from Gard, attesting to the seriousness of the phenomenon observed in the sky, and a horse breeder from Hérault, telling TF1 journalists her amazement at the unidentified flying object. "I had to tell the worst story of my life," she confided. Rémi Gaillard affirms that he...

Who frontman Roger Daltrey described the Rolling Stones as a "mediocre pub band" in a recent interview. His comments follow those of Paul McCartney, who reignited the Beatles-vs.-Stones argument when he called Mick Jagger's group a "covers band" — leading to a lighthearted response from Jagger during a concert. In conversation with the Coda Collection, Daltrey offered his own views, saying: "Mick Jagger, you've got to take your hat off to him. He's the number one rock 'n' roll performer." He continued with a laugh: "But as a band, if you were outside a pub and you heard that music...

The battle for putting an end to the sale of cigarettes in Australia has been ensuing for a long time. In the latest development, leading public health researchers have said that the governments must set a date for banning the sale of cigarettes through retailers, including supermarkets. They also said that it is time to find new ways of boosting revenue without relying on tobacco excise taxes. (snip) The piece said that there is an urgent need for “ending the regulatory exceptionalism that has maintained the legal status of tobacco products as a consumer good.” “Cigarettes do not meet modern...

A Connecticut judge has found Infowars owner and conspiracy theorist Alex Jones liable in a defamation case brought by families of the victims of the Sandy Hook massacre. The judge in the case ruled that because Jones failed to produce documents he had been ordered to hand over by the court, including his financial records, he was liable by default, The New York Times reported on Monday. The families of 10 victims in the 2012 mass shooting at a Newtown, Conn., elementary school sued the far-right media personality for defamation in 2019 after he suggested on his program the assault,...

The headlines have been brutal. "Exasperation and dysfunction: Inside Kamala Harris' frustrating start as vice president," read one from CNN. "Biden-successor chatter grows and Harris isn't scaring off anyone," read another from Politico. And this from the New York Post: "Kamala Harris sidelined amid growing tensions with Biden, insiders say." The general gist of all of these pieces is similar if not exactly the same: The Vice President is struggling in her role. She's frustrated. And some people in President Joe Biden's orbit are just as frustrated with her. As CNN wrote over the weekend: (snip) Bad headlines are part...

CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — The Wyoming Republican Party will no longer recognize Liz Cheney as a member of the GOP in its second formal rebuke for her criticism of former President Donald Trump. The 31-29 vote Saturday in Buffalo, Wyoming, by the state party central committee followed votes by local GOP officials in about one-third of Wyoming’s 23 counties to no longer recognize Cheney as a Republican. In February, the Wyoming GOP central committee voted overwhelmingly to censure Cheney, Wyoming’s lone U.S. representative, for voting to impeach Trump for his role in the Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol....

Birds of a feather flock together, and the birds flocking to protest and show their disapproval of Kyle Rittenhouse are definitely showing their willingness to forgive those Rittenouse shot no matter what they did. Even if those crimes are horrific and depraved.Townhall’s Julio Rosas was on location in Kenosha where Rittenhouse had killed two men and shot a third in the arm after they had attempted to attack him during a Black Lives Matter protest. It was there that he ran into protesters who have no desire to see Rittenhouse go free and hold him up as a murderer. Not surprising,...

Last week we reported on how Kyle Rittenhouse’s mother Wendy went on Fox News, where she rightly proceeded to rip President Biden over what she called his “defamation” of her son during the 2020 presidential election campaign.Specifically, Biden tweeted out a video roughly a month before Election Day that included a montage of clips including scenes from the violent BLM/Antifa-led Kenosha riots from August 2020 and the racist Charlottesville “tiki torch” event from August 2017 – effectively conflating the two, the latter of which took place the night before the infamous “Unite the Right” rally that left counter-protester Heather Heyer...

“Don’t California my Texas” has been a popular phrase amongst Texans for some time now. For years, we here in the Lone Star State have watched people from New York and California flee to our greener pastures and while we love the fact that we have such an inviting atmosphere that businesses and people want to come to, we worried that people would forget the reason they came here in the first place.Texas has no state tax and a lower cost of living. A three-bedroom home in a nice neighborhood in the suburbs outside of Dallas costs many times less...

The Biden White House pushed back at media reports that there’s a Biden/Harris “relationship crisis” as the VP is trying to improve on an approval rating that’s around 28 percent. There was an obvious attempt to give the VP some additional face time during an event surrounding President Biden signing the infrastructure bill. However, as soon as Harris made her way to the podium to speak the announcer called somebody else’s name: https://twitter.com/charliespiering/status/1460351373728436225?s=20

I hate to be the boy who cried “worldwide commie take-over,” but have you seen what’s happening around the planet? The people in charge are using an easily survivable flu to control billions of people. And remember, what happens in Australia doesn’t stay in Australia. It’s coming here too. Just for funzies, watch this roughly 1-minute video of President Pee-pants and relish in his lie where he stated he would not mandate a vaccine, and how he will ask people to wear a mask for only 100 days. This video is almost one year old.

Have you heard these 2 things? They would seem to be the 1st 2 things to know, but nobody seems to. Going back to the Spanish flu, later waves ("variants") were more highly infectious but less lethal. (In other words, you'd be more likely to catch it, but less likely to die.) This is from Dr. Theresa Deisher https://tinyurl.com/vmpjhjzh If you've already gotten over it, or if you have it now, you shouldn't be vaccinated. This means, for vax mandates, there should be testing before anyone is vaxxxed. It is from an American Dr. of Armenian heritage but with an...

The Biden administration banned new oil and gas leases on a large swath of federal lands in New Mexico after a group of Native American tribes requested the action. President Joe Biden said he would soon be “taking action to protect the Greater Chaco Landscape in northwestern New Mexico from future oil and gas drilling and leasing” during a White House ceremony Monday with tribal leaders from around the country. The New York Times first reported the administration’s decision to ban the leases. The Department of Interior will initiate a review of a rule banning new oil and gas development...
