Up to 6,500 Chicago cops could be placed on unpaid leave for thumbing their noses at the city's just-expired deadline to get the COVID vaccine after the police union president warned Mayor Lori Lightfoot of a possible strike, resulting in a judge issuing a temporary restraining order against the cop late Friday night. The feud between Lightfoot and head of the Chicago Branch of the Fraternal Order of Police John Catanzara escalated when Lightfoot brought the fight to court and filed a Complaint for Injunctive Relief against the police union and Catanzara. She said in Thursday's filing that the police...

Delta Air Lines is ditching a vaccine mandate for employees, according to company CEO Ed Bastian, who notably emphasized the “divisiveness” of such an order. Bastian said announcing a plan to get all employees vaccinated, without enforcing a mandate, has worked, allowing the company to reach a 90% vaccination rate. “The reason the mandate was put in by [the] president, I believe, was because they wanted to make sure companies had a plan to get their employees vaccinated,” the CEO said, according to Fox Business. “A month before the president came out with the mandate, we had already announced our...

Joe Biden imposed a mandatory vaccine mandate on the US military. A growing number of Navy SEALs are seeking a religious exemption to the government’s vaccine mandate. Now the US Navy is threatening to fire the SEALs and force them to pay back the money spent on their training. ..... Snip..... Sure enough. Here is the memo from the US Navy sent out to all Navy SEALs. (…) Policy. “Even so consider yourselves to be dead to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus” (Romans 6:11). You must act on what you know to be true. A foundational biblical principle is that people must understand the truth before they can live it out in their lives. Put another way, duty is always based on doctrine. The first ten verses of Romans 6 lay the solid foundation of truth upon which believers can build their lives. Several times so far (vv. 3, 5, 6, 8) Paul has exhorted Christians to understand the truth of their union with Christ in...

Smokers are less likely to test positive for the coronavirus, according to research that offers yet more evidence that the habit may be protective. Since the crisis spiralled out of control, researchers have seen unusually low rates of smokers with Covid-19 in hospitals - suggesting they rarely get severely ill. Now, for what is believed to be the first time, experts in Israel have found adults who smoke cigarettes are less likely to pick up the virus in the first place

CHINA has reportedly placed its military on "high alert" as state controlled media warned Taiwan of a looming "doomsday" amid fears of invasion. Beijing and Taipei are feared to be sitting on the brink of a conflict which could end up drawing in the US and potentially spiralling into World War 3. Both sides have traded barbs - and now China has issued some of its most strongly worded threats to date as it vows to "reunify" with the separatist island that has claimed independence since 1949. Chinese defense ministry spokesman Tan Kefei described Beijing's military as an "high alert"...

China’s exports rose 28% in September from the year-earlier level, more than the analyst consensus had forecast. More important is that China’s exports to the United States have risen by 31% since January 2018, when President Trump imposed tariffs on a wide range of US imports from China. At a seasonally adjusted annual rate, the US is buying $635 billion of Chinese goods, equal to a staggering 27% of US manufacturing Gross Domestic Product. That’s the sort of import dependency economists associate with Third World countries dependent on former colonial powers. US exports to China during the past 12 months...

Chinese researchers from a military-linked university have completed the first open sea test in the Paracel Islands of a bionic robot that looks and swims like a manta ray, Chinese media reported. Countries disputing China’s claims in the South China Sea, no doubt, will be watching closely the development of this sophisticated drone. The state-run China Daily quoted developers from the Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU) in Xi’an as saying that this is the world’s first bionic unmanned underwater vehicle (UUV) to accomplish a more than 1,000-meter dive in the open sea, including gliding and flapping wing propulsion. They added...

WASHINGTON (AP) — Framed by the Capitol, President Joe Biden paid tribute Saturday to fallen law enforcement officers and honored those who fought off the Jan. 6 insurrection at that very site by declaring “because of you, democracy survived.” Biden spoke at the 40th Annual National Peace Officers’ Memorial Service to remember the 491 law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in 2019 and 2020. Standing where the violent mob tried to block his own ascension to the presidency, Biden singled out the 150 officers who were injured and the five who died in the attack’s aftermath....

A government watchdog group has called for an investigation into White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki. Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) filed an ethics complaint against Psaki on Friday. She’s being accused of endorsing Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe in a press conference on Thursday. The group alleged Psaki violated the Hatch Act, which forbids federal employees in the executive branch from political activity.

There is a massive propaganda push against those choosing not to vaccinate against COVID-19 with the experimental mRNA vaccines. Mainstream media, the big tech corporations, and our government have combined efforts to reward compliance and to shame and marginalize non-compliance. Their mantra says that this is a pandemic of the unvaccinated. Persons who choose not to vaccinate are characterized as unintelligent, selfish, paranoid people who don’t read much and live in a trailer park in Florida (or Alabama, or Texas, or name your state). Never has there been such an effort to cajole, manipulate through fear, and penalize people to...

News that Eighth District Court of Appeals Judge Larry Jones died without warning within 9 days of the deaths of two other judges has their colleagues in Cuyahoga and Cleveland courts quietly fearful that their rush to be injected with an unproven concoction of “immune stimulating” ingredients could make them next. Judge Nancy McDonnell died on September 28 at 62. She was already living with an immune system weakened by the multiple ailments, surgeries and medications she was prescribed from lung transplants. Judge Joseph Russo died unexpectedly at the age of 59 on October 2. He was reported to have...

On September 9, Israel defense company Elbit announced the ARCAS, or Assault Rifle Combat Application System. The device is a combination of a gunsight, operating system, and an augmented reality display. If it proves useful in combat, it heralds a future in which soldiers not only aim rifles, but where the rifles tell soldiers information about who they are aiming at. ARCAS is an after-market add-on to existing rifles, converting the familiar weapon of infantry into the central node in an array of sensor-rich technologies. Elbit is marketing it for both Special Operations forces, who are accustomed to training with...

It was shot after repeatedly approaching the Sierra Nevada campsite of a large family with many small children despite several attempts to haze it or shoo it away, the agency said. The animal “was a shell of its former self, completely emaciated, its teeth rotten,” the wildlife agency statement said. “As one CDFW biologist later said, ‘Ultimately, the actions of the shooter was the most humane outcome for this bear,’ ” the statement said. Wildlife officers ruled the shooting was justified.
