Alleged Vice President Kamala Harris took a special moment at George Mason University on Tuesday to tacitly endorse the antisemitic views of a young student there. In a C-SPAN video (you can watch the whole thing here) Harris stands and nods calmly while a female student launches into a minute-long harangue in which she accuses Israel of “ethnic genocide and displacement of people.”In response, Harris said the young woman’s “truth” “cannot be suppressed.”The student, according to the Jerusalem Post, describes herself as part-Yemeni, part-Iranian, and “not an American.”
  • Intermittent fasting makes fruit flies live longer—will it work for people? (Overnight for 20 hours extended lives by 13-18%)

    09/29/2021 1:05:13 PM PDT · by ConservativeMind · 33 replies
Intermittent fasting and time-restricted feeding in general limit food, but not overall caloric intake, to specific hours of the day. (In contrast, dietary restriction, which also has been shown to increase longevity, reduces caloric intake.) "Because intermittent fasting restricts the timing of eating, it's been hypothesized that natural biological clocks play a role," says Mimi Shirasu-Hiza, Ph.D. The researchers put their flies on one of four different schedules: 24-hour unrestricted access to food, 12-hour daytime access to food, 24-hour fasting following by 24-hour unrestricted feeding, or what the researchers called intermittent time-restricted fasting or iTRF (20 hours of fasting followed...

It's over folks. Seriously, there are now two -- and only two -- possible paths. Sue, on the basis below. You will win if the judiciary is competent and so is your counsel. Competence is not in my wheelhouse; that is up to you. If you file bull**** you will lose, and should. But if your counsel is competent and your argument clear and concise you win because the CDC has documented that your position is correct -- the vaccines are in fact worthless from a public health perspective beyond a period of about four months and you win on...

Whether it be treatments or interventions, the plethora of seemingly similar quality research supporting contradictory positions, and the use of digital echo chambers, facilitates widespread confirmation bias - evidence supporting any initial position can be easily found. Self-serving bias and cognitive dissonance further make it challenging to alter positions, especially for those taking very public and strong positions with serious implications. We felt that attempts to organize and make the research and data easier to navigate, highlighting areas of applicability, and analyzing limitations, could potentially be beneficial.

The FBI has taken Brian Laundrie’s cellphone as part of its manhunt for the 23-year-old fugitive — but it is unclear where his slain girlfriend’s phone is, according to a report. Laundrie went missing from his parents’ Florida home more than two weeks ago and is sought for questioning in the disappearance and death of 22-year-old Gabby Petito. The FBI have executed a search warrant at Laundrie’s parents’ home in North Port and returned for DNA evidence Sunday — and have taken Laundrie’s phone, Insider reported. Laundrie family attorney Steven Bertolino confirmed last week that Laundrie fled the home without...

Orlando, Florida – A former Notre Dame professor who routinely attacked unvaccinated people as “selfish” passed away after she received her 3rd Covid vaccine. 67-year-old Karen Croake Heisler received her first Pfizer Covid jab on January 13, 2021. Earlier this month, Heisler tweeted she got her third jab. “Just received my third Covid vaccine” she tweeted on September 7. We're all gonna die—and it's all the Republicans' fault! With some slight exaggeration, that was CNN's message this morning regarding Republican reluctance to raise the debt limit. Mugging a petrified look [see screencap] New Day co-host John Berman opened the show by predicting nothing short of "the potential collapse of the U.S. economy," because "Republicans have voted against paying U.S. debts." Moments later, Berman fearmongered: "The week from hell could turn into the economic calamity from hell if the U.S. defaults on its debts, which Republicans, for now, have voted to let happen." CNN economics commentator Alexis Glick took the...

SYDNEY – His Eminence Archbishop Makarios of Australia issued an encyclical saying that all the faithful are welcome in the churches, those who are vaccinated and those who are not. He wrote among other things that “personally, I will never agree with a measure which divides the faithful between vaccinated and non-vaccinated. The doors of our Churches will be open for all. I do not accept that there will be people who wish to come to Church and we will not allow them.” The Archbishop also stated that, “we often find that key issues, such as the pandemic, are discussed...

A new set of restrictions were implemented last week for residents of Contra Costa County. The goal is to increase the percentage of vaccinated citizens. The County will adopt some of the strictest COVID-19 measures in the country. According the Contra Costa Health website, "Everyone 12 and older must show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID test to enter restaurants, gyms and other indoor businesses where there's an increased risk of spreading." California has one of the highest rates of vaccination among the United States. The state has administered at least one vaccine dose to 70% of the eligible...

At a Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors meeting at the end of August, Supervisor Susan Ellenberg repeatedly pressed Health Officer Dr. Sara Cody on when the county's indoor mask mandate would be lifted. The number of new COVID-19 cases in Santa Clara County had started to slow at the time of the meeting, and when Ellenberg asked Cody how long the mandate would last, Cody seemed to suggest some degree of perpetuity. What followed was an exchange that grew increasingly tense with each reply. "I appreciate that comment about the flu, of course last year not only were we...

CHESAPEAKE, Va. (AP) — Dollar Tree embedded in its very name what it stands for: Behind these doors, everything can be had for just $1. The mantra to which the Chesapeake, Virginia, company has held true for decades will now be only mostly true. After expanding nationwide from only a handful of stores in Georgia, Tennessee and Virginia, Dollar Tree is breaking the mold and will sell items in some locations that exceed the tantalizing $1 grab-n-go price. The cost of clothes, cars, food and just about everything else has soared this year as the global economy emerges from a...

There is good news coming in on the COVID-19 front. A new CDC forecast model put together at UMass Amherst predicts that COVID hospitalizations will drop by nearly half in the next two weeks. COVID death and case numbers are also likely to drop and a Stanford doctor says that the latest U.S. surge has likely hit its peak. "It's clear that the United States has probably peaked in its latest surge connected to the Delta variant and some states will see steeper declines than others and some counties within states will do the same," says Stanford's Dr. Jorge Salinas....

I have a theory, yes I know, please hold the sarcasm and let me finish. My theory is, and has been for a long time, that we, the west, should fence off the middle east, don’t let anyone out and toss in a bunch of conventional weapons so that they can do the world a favor and kill each other off. After all that’s what they’ve been doing for centuries. I’m wondering if sleepy joe did just that. The Taliban are like the palistinians in that none of their neighbors like them but they do appreciate the fact that the...
