I wanted a bit more “oomph” from my 1W 1.2 GHz HT, so I purchased a PC board Yagi to get another 6 dB. I have a Yaesu FT-911 1.2 GHz HT. It is a 1990’s rig gifted me by the wife of a Silent Key at my work. It is a sweet handheld, but with limited power.

Christopher Miller, who served as acting secretary of defense under former President Donald Trump, blamed him for the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol in a new interview. “Would anybody have marched on the Capitol, and tried to overrun the Capitol, without the president’s speech?” Miller said during an interview with Vice on Showtime, which will air in full on March 14. “I think it’s pretty much definitive that wouldn’t have happened.” Shortly before Trump supporters stormed the Capitol on Jan. 6, the president told the crowd of his “Save America Rally” that the 2020 election was “a criminal enterprise,”...

Sorry, Vanity Fair. We know you want to get eyeballs on your site but publishing a completely fake news headline is not the way to go.Since Vanity Fair is no Babylon Bee it doesn't even have the excuse of pretending to be satire, especially since the article below the headline is dead serious. "LINDSEY GRAHAM: I’M WILLING TO OVERLOOK THE FACT THAT TRUMP HAS PROBABLY BEATEN A FEW HOMELESS PEOPLE TO DEATH."

Congressman Massie: Today, I challenged the sponsors of this week’s gun control bills to consider whether it's fair to surround themselves with armed soldiers, Capitol Hill police, personal details, and bodyguards while making it even harder for citizens to exercise their basic right to self-defense. It’s not fair, and it’s not constitutional! Video ...

One of life's simplest pleasures is eating too much. Just a little too much. That sweet spot where your body, and more importantly, your mind, knows that you overdid it a tad but not so thoroughly that you're about to be bolted to the bed or toilet for the next 24 hours. There's something freeing about the level of indulgence that sees you polish off two dozen chicken nuggets, even though by the time you were throwing number 16 down, your body was telling you to stop. Pounding that extra slice of pizza that will take you from stuffed to...

Enid Zentelis thought she knew everything about her grandmother, Bella Vital-Tihanyi — a Hungarian Holocaust survivor, mother of two and late-in-life avowed nudist who died in 1998. “She was my rock,” said Zentelis, who traveled the world with Bella and even lived with her for a time. Zentelis believed that Bella, born in 1915, had a straightforward war story. A neighbor turned in Bella as a Jew, and she spent several months in a Budapest prison. She survived the Nazi regime thanks to fake papers claiming she was a Swedish citizen waiting to go home. But Zentelis’ view changed in...

U.S. border agents detained nearly 100,000 migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in February, according to two people familiar with preliminary figures, the highest monthly total since a major border surge in mid-2019.
