National Guard member stationed in DC dies after medical emergency

A National Guard member stationed in Washington, DC, to protect the Capitol died after suffering a medical emergency while off duty, a spokesperson for the force said Thursday.

The Guard member’s name and details about their death were not immediately released.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the Guard’s joint task force in DC said the death was under investigation.

We had a geriatric (extended) family member in hospice last summer with cancer that had metastasized to several organs (colon, ovary, pancreas, lymph). When my cousin finally got the death certificate back - you guessed it - cause of death: COVID.

The family was livid at the hospice. They said that the ME didn’t get that information from them as she was never tested there. As best we can tell, she was tested post-mortem, if she was tested at all.

I was fortunate enough to have served under only two Commanders-In-Chief....Nixon and Ford. I'd desert rather than serve under the likes of Plugs,Heels Up,Osama Obama or Billy Bob. And given what I've learned about the Peanut Farmer *since* he left office I'd include him in that list as well.

Soldiers stationed in DC had complained previously about the accommodations they received, including meals that had undercooked or raw meat in them.

“There were 74 different meals found with raw beef in them,” an unnamed staff sergeant from Michigan told WXYZ in Detroit.

“Just yesterday … soldiers had found metal shavings in their food,” he added.

Sad and terrible that the Armed Forces would allow such to happen
