(Reuters) - New Mexico officials are asking the Biden administration to resolve confusion in the state’s oil and gas industry over a 60-day pause on allowing state-level staff to issue approvals for new federal lands drilling. In a letter dated Feb. 9 but seen by Reuters on Wednesday, Sarah Cottrell Propst, secretary of New Mexico’s Energy, Minerals and Natural Resources Department, asked the Department of Interior to clarify how right-of-way permits fit into the policy. The order, issued Jan. 20, stripped Interior agencies and bureaus of their authority to issue new drilling leases or permits while it reviews the federal...

Pope’s pick says ‘clericalist mindset is changing’Sr Nathalie Becquart (CNS/Paul Haring)A French sister who could be the first woman to cast a vote in the Synod of Bishops says her appointment as an undersecretary is evidence the “clericalist mindset is changing”. Source: Crux.Sr Nathalie Becquart told journalists on Wednesday that Pope Francis has been underlining the importance of including women in the decision-making processes, helping move the Church from a clericalist attitude towards a more synodal one.“How can we somehow end with a clerical Church, where there have been abuses, of power and other kind of abuses,” she asked, during...

President Donald J. Trump was sicker with Covid-19 in October than publicly acknowledged at the time, with extremely depressed blood oxygen levels at one point and a lung problem associated with pneumonia caused by the coronavirus, according to four people familiar with his condition. His prognosis became so worrisome before he was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that officials believed he would need to be put on a ventilator, two of the people familiar with his condition said. The people familiar with Mr. Trump’s health said he was found to have lung infiltrates, which occur when the...

I just found out that jazz pianist Chick Corea has died today from a rare form of cancer. I never knew all that much about him. I still don't. What I do recall was his album The Leprechaun from 1976. Pleasant listening. I had hoped to see him live someday. Not meant to be. I used to play that album on repeat for hours as I did my homework in College. Corea and the group Weather Report were among my favorites. Back in Columbus Ohio. I will leave it up to someone more deeply versed in jazz piano to describe...

Our national nightmare is one week old. And “devout” Joe Biden is celebrating with more child-killing. The president today is expected to announce his repeal of the Mexico City Policy — an important protection first put in place by President Reagan (and improved by President Trump) that prevents American tax dollars from flowing to international organizations that promote and provide abortions. Shocked? You shouldn’t be. Joe Biden is an enemy of life, period. While he once held to some semblance of coherency on the life issue, he has since fully sold his soul to the Democratic Party’s War on the...

A pair of bombshell revelations dropped Thursday and further exposed the corruption of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D). The first shoe to drop came from the Associated Press, early in the evening, and it found Cuomo had sent over 9,000 elderly coronavirus patients back to their long-term care centers (far more than they first claimed). The second story came in the form of a recorded phone call obtained by the New York Post where an aide admits the administration intentionally covered up nursing home deaths. The AP story dropped before the broadcast networks went to air, but none of...

We all like an electric guitar fitted with a nice bone nut and saddle. But how about one that’s just, well, bones? Meet YouTuber Prince Midnight, who constructed a guitar with a body built from an actual human skeleton. The skeleton, as Prince Midnight tells Guitar World, belonged to his uncle, Filip, who passed away in the ‘90s in Greece.

Jamie “Rat face” Raskin and his merry band of CCP assets and other assorted freaks have rested their “case” in the impeachment of a private citizen. WASHINGTON — House managers wrapped up their case in former President Donald Trump's second impeachment trial Thursday, arguing that he controlled the mob that wreaked deadly havoc on the U.S. Capitol and that he could incite further violence if he is not convicted. The impeachment managers, who act as prosecutors in the Senate, spent the third day of the proceedings trying to prove Trump's responsibility for the graphic and emotionally jarring scenes they had presented as evidence the day before — video of rioters roaming the halls in search of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., and Vice President Mike Pence,...

I'm not into the Johnathan Cahn type movement. But this Hebrew worship song is one of my favorites. WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Joe Biden’s administration plans to continue to seek to extradite WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange from the United Kingdom to the United States to face hacking conspiracy charges, the U.S. Justice Department said. Justice Department spokesman Marc Raimondi on Tuesday said the U.S. government will continue to challenge a British judge’s ruling last month that Assange should not be extradited to the United States because of the risk he would commit suicide. In a Jan. 4 ruling, the judge, Vanessa Baraitser, said, “I find that the mental condition of Mr. Assange is such that it would be...

The administrators at the University of California, Berkeley, have launched strict coronavirus lockdown rules that include a ban on outdoor exercise. The university announced that its lockdown would last at least until February 15, but that date is already an extension from the original February 8 end time. Shockingly, the school exclaimed that the police would monitor the lockdown. “Due to the 14-day incubation period of this virus, it is too early to be sure we have contained this current surge,” UC Berkeley told students, according to the Daily Californian. “We understand this extension is frustrating, but please understand this...
