Racial hoaxes reinforce different groups’ worst suspicion of one another: Whites are racists. Blacks are criminals. Over the past 25 years, I’ve analyzed more than 100 racial-hoax cases, beginning with the 1987 case of Tawana Brawley, an African American teen who falsely said that several white men had raped her. A woman has been charged with vandalism under $1,000 after authorities say she used a rock to carve “white pride” into the sidewalk at a Johnson City business. Black people who create hoaxes are more likely to say they were victims of a hate crime by an imaginary white perpetrator....

Hello Fellow FReepers, I have been posting several articles via their HTML source. I notice that apostrophes are not being rendered correctly after the article is posted. I see two square marks in the place of the apostrophes. Does anybody notice the same weird thing?

One school district in Washington state has evidently decided that Asians no longer qualify as persons of color. In their latest equity report, administrators at North Thurston Public Schools—which oversees some 16,000 students—lumped Asians in with whites and measured their academic achievements against "students of color," a category that includes "Black, Latinx, Native American, Pacific Islander, and Multi-Racial Students" who have experienced "persistent opportunity gaps."

Nov 16, 2020 7:56 PM EST MONROE, La. — Louisiana landlords have filed a federal lawsuit seeking to overturn a moratorium on evictions ordered by the CDC to avoid spreading the novel coronavirus. The suit says that “the CDC’s eviction moratorium represents a sweeping assumption of power by an administrative agency that it simply does not possess.” Figures provided by the Seattle-based Housing Justice Project says landlords in Georgia, Ohio and Tennessee have filed similar lawsuits against the CDC moratorium. Those in 13 other states and the District of Columbia are trying to overturn state or city eviction moratoriums. The...

Although the coronavirus pandemic has largely grounded the global travel industry, it did not stop the annual political conference that brings California lawmakers to Hawaii for five days of policy discussions and schmoozing with corporate sponsors. The conference, which has been hosted by the Independent Voter Project every November for more than a decade, is taking place this week at the Fairmont Kea Lani on Maui’s southwest shore.

Voter fraud occurred across the board in the 2020 election and in every functional area. But in the data is where we’re able to locate and quantify or estimate much of the amount of election fraud which occurred in the 2020 election. The 2020 election steal occurred in all areas. Before the election votes were mass-mailed and many of these votes we now are finding were illegitimate (i.e. dead people voting, etc…). Many other illegitimate votes came in after the election as those involved in the theft hurried to get enough votes counted to steal the election. Then the vote counting...

In the past day there have been two very disturbing developments in internet deplatforming. We are all familiar with deplatforming from major social media services such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as those platforms outright silencing important news that harms Democrats, like the Biden family influence peddling scandal. Twitter regularly now places notices or restrictions even on Trump’s tweet on the allegation that his opinions on the election are disputed. In the four years Trump as been the subject of dishonest and malicious conspiracy claims, particularly Russia collusion, I can’t remember Twitter ever placing such restrictions on the tweets...

UK workers could find themselves banned from pubs, restaurants, and possibly even the workplace if they refuse to get the COVID-19 vaccine, according to a senior MP.Speaking with HuffPost UK's Commons People podcast, as noted by Metro, Conservative Tom Tugendhat has warned that he could 'certainly see the day' when proof of vaccination was required to return to normal life.'If vaccination works and if we’re confident it’s safe, and all indications so far are good, then I can certainly see the day when businesses say: "Look, you’ve got to return to the office and if you’re not vaccinated you’re not...

Smartmatic has been stealing elections in Venezuela since at least 2004. In Ausust 2017 Smartmatic Director Antonio Mugica admitted that the Smartmatic machines and software created at least one million phantom votes in the national elections in Venezuela. Mugica added that the fact election observers were not in the room helped Smartmatic machines steal the election. This statement by Mugica was in August 2017. The related Dominion equipment is used in North Carolina, Nevada, Georgia, Michigan, Arizona and Pennsylvania – key battleground states this year. According to Townhall, the Department of Homeland Security’s Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) issued...

The polls from the major networks and universities promised a blue wave. President Trump was down by at least 10 points nationally, and by nearly that much or more in the major swing states. The few pollsters, including Trafalgar, who got 2016 and 2018 right and called 2020 a close race, were widely ridiculed.Nate Silver, a leftwing poll analyst, was chief among the critics. Silver gave former Vice President Joe Biden a nearly 70 percent chance of winning Florida.Immediately on Election Day, turnout looked good for the GOP. Trump won Florida decisively and by 8:30 p.m. Central Time, and made...

Joe Biden’s plan to surge refugee resettlement by over 700 percent to the United States is “what America needs to heal” after four years of President Trump, an MSNBC columnist writes. In “Biden’s refugee plan is what America needs to heal from Trump,” MSNBC columnist Hayes Brown writes Americans “need to make space” for a surge in refugees Biden has promised to bring to the U.S. "Massively increasing the number of refugees allowed into the U.S. has the benefit, then, of doing exactly that — marking an end to the U.S. government’s hostility to immigrants under Trump and showing the...

In an interview with The Washington Post, Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger claimed Sen. Lindsey Graham, and other Republicans, suggested he find ways to exclude legally cast ballots, which the South Carolina senator denies.Raffensperger, a Republican, told the Post he was under pressure from within his own party during the recount to bring about a more favorable outcome for President Trump in the state, which Joe Biden narrowly won with roughly 14,000 votes. In their conversation, Graham questioned Raffensperger about the state’s signature-matching law and whether political bias could have prompted poll workers to accept ballots with nonmatching signatures, according...

President-elect Joe Biden does not want investigations into President Trump after he leaves office to consume and further divide the nation, a new report alleges he privately told advisers. Citing five people familiar with the discussions, NBC News reported Tuesday morning that the man slated to be the 46th commander-in-chief was wary of some Democrats’ desires to probe the outgoing president once he no longer has legal protections. Biden reportedly raised concerns that such investigations would only deepen the political divisions in the country at a time when he has publicly argued he has a mandate to unite Americans across...

The Ouija board almost always emerges amid discussions about the pitfalls of playing with fire. Some dismiss the game as simple and harmless, while others see it as a diabolical window into the spirit world — a tool that can open users up to demonic influence. There are countless stories of people claiming unexplainable phenomena after playing the game. These claims, which are understandably met with skepticism, seem to challenge the common framing of the board as a mere parlor game.Dr. Michael Brown is among those who warn people to be wary of the Ouija board. “You’re trying to get in...
