Are Democrats Channeling Their Inner Lenin? COMMENTARY . By Frank MieleAugust 05, 2019 Are Democrats Channeling Their Inner Lenin? AP Photo/Paul Sancya As we approach November 2020, Democrats are having their “October 1917” moment. Just as the Russian Social Democratic Labour Party back then was divided between the moderate Mensheviks and the more radical Bolsheviks, so too the modern American Democratic Party is divided between the moderate socialists like Joe Biden, Amy Klobuchar and Steve Bullock and the radical socialists like Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.

A state representative is calling for improvements in postal workers’ “deplorable” working conditions seeing a mail carrier demonstrate how hot mail trucks get by cooking a steak on his dashboard. (District 20), sent a letter to the president of the American Postal Workers Union, Mark Dimondstein on Thursday, urging him to look into the heat-related issue. Both the onshore and offshore yuan breached the 7.0 level against the dollar, which investors see as a key threshold in currency value China's decision to let its currency weaken against the dollar on Monday sent global markets diving further into the red and provoked a Twitter tirade from US President Donald Trump. The deteriorating picture appeared to worsen as official Chinese media reported Beijing ceased purchases of American farm exports. The Chinese yuan fell to its lowest level against the dollar since August 2010 in morning trading on Monday, fuelling speculation that Beijing is allowing currency depreciation to counter...

For the first time in history, Spain is no longer a majority Catholic country For the first time in its history, Spain now has more atheists, agnostics, and non-believers than it does practicing Catholics, according to a new report by the Research Center of Spanish Sociology (CIS).While a third of Spaniards reported being Catholic, only 22.7 percent of them said that they attend mass and go to confession regularly. In Catalonia, just 10.9 percent of believers reported regularly attending mass and going to confession, while in Rojia, south of Basque country, about 40 percent of people are still practicing...

The Dayton Ohio terrorist was a pro-ANTIFA far left wing activist who regularly followed far left wing media and activist accounts. One of the last Tweets Connor Betts engaged with was one from far left wing activist Jared Holt spreading disinformation about me. To know that a terrorist was reading about me hours before he went on his attack is chilling, and shows why the far left targets me. They are sending signals to their terrorist fan base. Some would say that Connor Betts’ likes and retweets aren’t relevant. We can dismiss that argument because all of the people cited...

In Chicago this past weekend, more than 50 people were shot and six killed in a three-day period. With the media focus on the shootings in El Paso and Dayton, bloody Chicago continues to add up the bodies. As the media reports about the investigations into the shootings in El Paso, Texas, and Dayton, Ohio, the carnage in Chicago continues unabated, and goes nearly unreported by the national press. As each hour ticked down over the first weekend in August, the shooting and death toll steadily rose until Chicago’s ABC 7 reported on Monday morning that 51 people were shot...

Mexico on Sunday threatened to take legal action against the United States for failing to protect its citizens after this weekend's mass shooting in the border city of El Paso. Of the 20 people gunned down at a Walmart adjacent to the Cielo Vista Mall, at least seven were Mexican citizens, and Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard promised Mexico City will act. In a statement, the Foreign Ministry called the attack in El Paso a "terrorist act against innocent Mexicans."

I guess now that Trump, his liberal daughter and Lindsay Graham, to name 3, all think these shootings were due to whites hating blacks or hispanics, the main focus will be on limiting guns to whites. This new redflag bill, that trump and graham are all fluffed up about, must include white people as the main culprit. It's like a complete setup; liberal, progressive, wicked losers go out and kill a bunch of people and suddenly....whites are to blame.

Just stop calling for government, just stop. Video games are no more responsible for shootings than guns are. Children learning to use guns to defend themselves is a good thing and government regulation is a bad thing. Kids have always played "cops & robbers", "cowboys & indians" and "war", there is nothing wrong with it and it is healthy.

The U.S stock markets are being absolutely pummeled today as the trade tussle between the Trump and Xi administrations escalates. Against this backdrop it is imperative for investors to focus on the names that are not working as harbingers for further downside. Yes, Microsoft, Apple and Amazon are all down at least 2.5% in today’s trading, but anyone who bought any of those tech titans on August 5, 2018, still has a nice unrealized capital gain. It is in the names that are hitting new 52-week lows that we can see the seeds of panic. Contagion is a real thing...

In his first statement following the shootings in El Paso, TX and Dayton, OH, former President Obama has come forward with an aggressive plan for Democrats: Do more, and consider passing gun confiscation laws. His response came in a Tweet, where the former President seems to blame President Donald Trump for the shooting in El Paso, regurgitating the same talking points that CNN has been spewing since the moment the shooting occurred. Not only that, but Obama seems to insinuate the the United States, which elected him, a black man, as President, is white supremacist, stating that the shooter acted...

Longtime Texas Rep. Kenny Marchant's announcement Monday that he will not seek another term in Congress brings to 11 the number of House Republicans who plan to retire or seek another office in 2020 – a factor that could make it more difficult for the GOP to recapture the majority in next year's elections. The retirement announcement by Marchant – who is serving his eighth term in the House – comes just days after fellow Texan and House Republican Rep. Will Hurd rocked Capitol Hill by announcing he would not run for re-election. Hurd – the only African-American Republican in...

President Donald Trump just can't be correct about anything having to do with Baltimore, right? Well, when a Baltimore television station, WJZ, fact checked a White House claim that Baltimore has a higher murder rate than the Central American countries of Honduras, Guatemala, and El Salvador, perhaps they expected that assertion would be proven false. So imagine their surprise at what their fact check revealed.

China announced on Tuesday that it has suspended purchases of US agricultural products in retaliation for a “serious violation” of agreements between its President Xi Jinping and his counterpart Donald Trump. Trump’s announcement last week that the US would put a new 10 per cent tariff on US$300 billion worth of imports from China was “a serious violation of the consensus of the heads of state of the two countries”, state news agency Xinhua said in a report issued soon after midnight. China “has not ruled out import tariffs on US agricultural products purchased after August 3, and related Chinese...

But conservative judges may block common-sense measures for a long time to come. The right-wing political extremist who gunned down nearly two dozen people at an El Paso Walmart on Saturday and the man who shot and killed nine people only hours later in a downtown area of Dayton, Ohio, both unleashed their savage attacks thanks to military-style rifles. Just as culpable for the carnage, however, were the large-capacity magazines that enabled these shooters to discharge many rounds of ammo without reloading. Once all the rounds in a magazine are fired, reloading takes time. That chunk of time is often the...
