Scott Morrison was not supposed to continue to be Australia’s Prime Minister. Polls had consistently shown his Liberal Party, which is a center-right party, trailing the center-left Labor Party for several months. But to everyone’s surprise, the right-leaning party pulled it out. Morrison, who is an evangelical Christian, called it a miracle. From CNN: In a triumphant speech Saturday night, Morrison said he had “always believed in miracles.” “And tonight we’ve been delivered another one,” he told jubilant supporters in Sydney who chanted Morrison’s nickname “ScoMo.” The result will be devastating for the center-left Labor Party, which had been ahead...

A new political calling has already been suggested for one New York Democrat who has only been on Capitol Hill for four months. “Mayor Ocasio-Cortez?” asks a New York Sun editorial. The news organization has weighed out the chances that Rep. Alexandria-Ocasio-Cortez could one day be elected mayor of New York City, her home town. The publication suggests that the realities of Congress may lose their appeal for the lawmaker. “The fun Ms. Ocasio-Cortez is having could fade if — as is theoretically possible — the GOP regains the House in 2020. Then she’d be faced with the interminable drudgery...

The polls were unanimous that the leftist Labor Party was going to defeat the conservatives (confusingly called “The Liberal Party”) in yesterday’s election and take over the government of Australia. As with the inevitable Hillary Clinton presidency, the polls were wrong. While any election is decided on multiple issues, especially in a continent-sized nation like Australia, most close observers believe that global warming policies, especially the move to close the massive Adani Coal Mine project in Queensland – the subject of enormous demonstrations – and skyrocketing prices for electricity made the difference.

Weeks into an investigation of the origins of the FBI’s investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election, Attorney General William Barr said Friday that the probe has provided more questions than answers due to the “inadequate” and in some cases inconsistent answers he’s been given from the officials involved. Asked during an interview with Fox News whether he knew exactly when the FBI began its investigation into the Trump campaign, Barr said he had not yet identified a reliable timeline. “I’ve been trying to get answers to the questions, and I’ve found that a lot of the answers have...

While the pollsters continue to come under fire for getting the election result so wrong there was one man who correctly predicted the outcome. Bela Stantic, of Griffith University, previously predicted Britain's Brexit result and that Trump would become president. He knew the Coalition would win the election by compiling data from social media. Prof Stantic told Daily Mail Australia while some coin him as the 'Nostradamus' of the 21st century he merely uses hidden information in the vast volume of publicly available data.

As states across the U.S. crack down on abortions, the UN is going in the other direction. The United Nations (UN) is holding firm when it comes to proliferating abortions throughout the globe, as they pushed through a measure in favor of “sexual and reproductive health” that tacitly endorsed abortion. Irish ambassador Geraldine Byrne Nason muscled through a document during the Commission on the Status of Women in March to ensure “universal access to sexual and reproductive health-care services” for women in member states. It was muscled through despite the fact that several delegates felt “bullied and harassed” by the...

Progressivism has been with us for just under 120 years now, destroying the country. Since day one, these people have staked their claim on the purity that they always have and always will stand against monopoly. Not so fast. Public posturing and the resulting public policy compared with the core ideological belief are two very different things. Progressives stand for and are ardent believers in the absolute regulation or complete nationalization of everything in sight, believing that government is the only entity that has any responsibility to be engaged in this, that, or the other thing. How dare they claim...

Former Vice President Joe Biden “relaunched†his campaign yesterday with a rousing speech before his supporters in Philadelphia. (How many times is he going to need to launch this rocket with a twenty point lead?) While Uncle Joe had plenty to say, there was much that was missing when compared to the hot chaff streaming out of his competitors’ public remarks. There was no talk of how awful the Republicans are or how they’re ruining the nation. There were few direct mentions of President Trump and pretty much nothing about how the Bad Orange Man is the devil. Instead, Joe...

When people ask what will happen to their corpses if they’re donated to a “body farm” for research, Dr. Shari Forbes provides them with as much, or as little detail, as they wish... Their corpses would be left for many months, perhaps years, while scientists study how the local climate of Bécancour, Que., just across the river from Trois-Rivières, impacts the five different stages of human decomposition — fresh, bloat, active decay, advanced decay and skeletonization — or how quickly their soft tissue is lost to necrophagous insects like beetles and blow flies. Remarkably, people are already signing on... The...

WASHINGTON — Only one person can save us from the dangerous belligerent in the White House. And that person is Donald Trump. How screwed up is that? Will the president let himself be pushed into a parlous war by John Bolton, who once buoyed the phony case on W.M.D.s in Iraq? Or will Trump drag back his national security adviser and the other uber hawks from the precipice of their fondest, bloodiest desire — to attack Iran? Can Cadet Bone Spurs, as Illinois senator and Iraq war vet Tammy Duckworth called Trump, set Tom Cotton straight that winning a war...

WASHINGTON—Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin refused to comply with a congressional subpoena for President Donald Trump’s tax returns on May 17. Mnuchin rejected the request from House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Richard Neal, a Democrat, saying that it lacks “a legitimate legislative purpose.” Neal’s request is one of a battery of efforts by Democrats targeting Trump that they initiated after gaining control of the House of Representatives in the 2018 midterm election. Trump refers to these efforts as “presidential harassment.”

There are now 23 candidates for the Democratic presidential nomination with New York’s mayor jumping in. The unveiling of the spies and tactics behind the fake collusion tale continues apace. It looks as though Mueller will testify before Congress on the 12th of Never and the impeachment train will never leave the station. Inspector General Horowitz’s reports on Comey and another on charges of illegal conduct in the DoJ and FBI are due soon, though, as usual, seem to be a long time aborning.  General Flynn’s sentencing hearing should come soon. There were this week some mysterious rulings by Judge Sullivan on...

Austria‘s president on Sunday recommended a new election be held in early September, saying he wanted to restore trust in the government after a video scandal led to the resignation of the vice chancellor. Chancellor Sebastian Kurz pulled the plug on the coalition and called for a snap election on Saturday after his deputy, Heinz-Christian Strache, the leader of the far-right Freedom Party, quit over a video showed him discussing fixing state contracts in return for favors. It is most important that Austrians are given the chance of a new start to rebuild trust in its government, President Alexander van...

Nearly one-third of the earth’s population is Christian. Of those, almost all expect that the kingdom of heaven awaits them on the other side of the grave. But that’s not what the Lord said in His Sermon on the Mount. “Not everyone,” He warned, “who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.” That should fill those among us who are “Cafeteria Christians” with fear and trembling. For they not only fail to live by “every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God,” they...

Jessica Stallings learned she was pregnant when she was 15. The father was her 22-year-old uncle, she said. He had been raping her since she was 13. For Stallings, the option of having an abortion in the case of rape or incest wasn’t a hypothetical. Alabama’s newest abortion ban – described by supporters and opponents as the most restrictive in the country – gained national attention last week in part because it makes no exceptions in cases of rape or incest. “Most of the people who talk about everything that’s going on, they can say what they think they believe,”...

Title shortened!!!: "Then, appearing suddenly from behind him, two young women seem to ambush the man, smearing something on his face before retreating out of shot. One wears a sweatshirt with the logo LOL in large letters, or Laugh Out Loud." "Their balding victim is not laughing, though. Clearly troubled, he complains to security guards who escort him to the airport medical centre, where he lies sprawled in a plastic armchair, his life ebbing away. Within 20 minutes, he is dead."

Disney-ABC‘s game show Who Wants To Be A Millionaire has been canceled after 17-years in syndication, 22 years overall, a show spokesperson confirmed to Deadline. It premiered on August 16, 1999 and ran through June 27, 2002 with Regis Philbin as host. It moved into syndication in September 2002, and was hosted for eleven seasons by Meredith Vieira. Washington - (CNN)Utah GOP Sen. Mitt Romney said Sunday he does not support the recently passed Alabama law that would ban abortions with few exceptions, going further than legislation in any other state. "I don't support the Alabama law," Romney told CNN's Jake Tapper on "State of the Union." Romney, a former Massachusetts governor who was the Republican presidential nominee in 2012, said that while he is against abortion, he favors exceptions "for rape and incest and where the life of the mother is at risk." Romney joins other prominent Republicans outside of Alabama in saying that the law goes...
