This is from June of this year, the police are actually arresting a news crew and ticketing a woman for holding a sign in line for a Town Hall meeting. This abuse is ridiculous.

Environmentalists hope the push in Congress for climate change legislation is not overwhelmed by the debate dominating Capitol Hill over changing the U.S. healthcare system. But it might be. Already two months behind schedule and unsure whether enough Democrats will play along, Senate leaders still aim to pass a bill by December when a United Nations summit convenes in Copenhagen to set worldwide goals for reducing carbon dioxide and other pollutants. But as the debate over healthcare legislation rages and with President Barack Obama due to address a joint session of Congress on Wednesday to try to rescue the faltering...

Once Glenn Beck brought Van Jones to light, the Internet started looking into him. FOX news was the only major media even reporting on Jones. Free Republic and their learned participants added fuel to the fire of knowledge.

There is a serious requirement for a quantitative rating system to accurately determine the precise amount of anguish and suffering being exacted on American citizens by each action and policy of the Obama administration. At this point in time, the preponderance of this pain is being felt by conservative-leaning citizens, since most of those on the left are still numb with the debilitating disease, "Obama Messiah Syndrome". This is thankfully beginning to dissipate, as indicated by recent polls, and pain levels on the left will soon approach the rest of the country. In my selfless attempt to fulfill this urgent...

The New York Times has posted an article on the Van Jones resignation, calling it a "victory for Republicans and the Obama Administration's conservative critics." Actually it is a victory for America. The article appears on page A17 of the New York edition this morning. Here is part of what the Times said: In a victory for Republicans and the Obama administration’s conservative critics, Van Jones resigned as the White House’s environmental jobs “czar” on Saturday. Controversy over Mr. Jones’s past comments and affiliations has slowly escalated over several weeks, erupting on Friday with calls for his resignation. Appointed as...

When I heard about the ELF group's latest acts of terrorism immediately the first question that popped into my head was "well what kinds of books do they read?"...... little did I know how brilliant that really was. For those around me who may have forgotten, Jim David Adkisson who shot up the Tennessee Unitarian Church also read books from O'Reilly and a few others, and when the drive by media found out this fact they proceeded to morph the discussion of despicable acts into one of their usual political rallies against their enemies in talk radio. The shooting itself...

Obama must seize his chance to give health care debate clear direction -- editorial Posted by kevobrie September 06, 2009 04:48AM President Barack Obama plans to wade back into the nation's health care debate this week, possibly during a Labor Day speech in Cincinnati and certainly during a televised address to Congress Wednesday evening. Most reports suggest that he hopes to bring some clarity to a discussion that has lost focus amid a flurry of competing congressional bills, wild talk of death panels and other distortions by his opponents and, quite frankly, Obama's failure to enunciate clearly what he wants...

Seeing that polls give us little snapshots of what the appetite of the nation is like at any given moment, I'm astounded by the moment we find ourselves in. As you sit reading this, former Vice President Cheney is on a two month surge of popularity. President Barack Obama, on the other hand, is doing his best Wile E. Coyote impression with no brakes on the rocket car, and has just careened over the edge of the fifty-foot cliff. So what has boosted the former Vice President anywhere from 8-10%, while watching the President nose dive 11-14%? I'm certain the...

FORMER prime minister John Howard is resting at home after spending two nights in hospital because of a severe allergic reaction to an anaesthetic on Friday. Opposition frontbencher Tony Abbott says Mr Howard, 70, was able to enjoy Father's Day at home in Wollstonecraft in Sydney's north on Sunday after he was discharged that morning from Royal North Shore Private Hospital. ”I spoke to him this afternoon and he was chirpy, joking and saying what a pleasant Father's Day he'd had,” Mr Abbott said. He said Mr Howard was having some routine dental treatment on Friday at Castlecrag Private Hospital...

CMBR Dipole: Speeding Through the Universe Credit: DMR, COBE, NASA, Four-Year Sky Map Explanation: Our Earth is not at rest. The Earth moves around the Sun. The Sun orbits the center of the Milky Way Galaxy. The Milky Way Galaxy orbits in the Local Group of Galaxies. The Local Group falls toward the Virgo Cluster of Galaxies. But these speeds are less than the speed that all of these objects together move relative to the cosmic microwave background radiation (CMBR). In the above all-sky map from the COBE satellite, radiation in the Earth's direction of motion appears blueshifted and...

“So is this justice? Not really. Having promised a full and open inquiry, the Corps held many hearings in secret session, held the findings secret, and released its decision on the disposition of the case on the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day, the perfect time to bury such news in a long holiday weekend. The Corps wanted this to just go away because of the embarrassment it caused and the doubts it cast on the fledgling Marine Corps Special Operations Command. Now, there are also lingering doubts over whether justice was indeed done, and worse, open questions about the credibility,...

I was at the tea party in Southaven MS yesterday, and a speaker said he will of course speak to his own children about responsibility and staying in school. That made me wonder if the Obama girls will be hearing this speech in thier own classromms this Tuesday? A good father would demand thier children would hear such needed prose! This would be the first question Gibbs would be asked. Will the Obama children hear this?

This Thursday in a federal court in Washington state, U.S. District Judge Benjamin Settle will, ahem, settle an important question. (Come on, who could resist?) The matter concerns Referendum 71, a petition to put the domestic partnership law Washington’s legislature passed last April to a statewide popular vote. Should the NOs prevail, the vote would reverse its enactment. Supporters of the new law describe it as “granting all the legal benefits and protections of marriage (save the legal title) to same-sex partners.” Now the referendum will stay the “everything but marriage” law from going into effect until the state’s voters...

Oakland mayor's chief of staff to resign By Kelly Rayburn Oakland Tribune Posted: 09/04/2009 02:56:00 PM PDT Updated: 09/04/2009 08:34:01 PM PDT OAKLAND — David Chai, chief of staff to Mayor Ron Dellums, is leaving his position to take a job working as San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom's "business czar." Chai, 41, will depart a little more than two years after joining Dellums' staff. He said he is leaving on his own terms and will begin working for Newsom — whom he worked for before being hired by Dellums — at the end of the month. "Working for Mayor Dellums...

... JONES: What about our immigrant sisters and brothers? What about our immigrant sisters and brothers? What about people who come here from all around the world who we’re willing to have out in the field, with poison being sprayed on them, poison being sprayed on them because we have the wrong agricultural system. And we’re willing to poison them and poison the earth to put food on our table, but we don’t want to give them rights and we don’t want to give them dignity and we don’t want to give them respect? Beck: “We don’t want to give...

Johann Pachelbel Johann Pachelbel Johann Pachelbel was born on September 1, 1653 in Nuremburg, which, at the time, was a great center of learning and culture. He studied music with Heinrich Schwemmer and G. C. Wecker, attended lectures at the Auditorium aegidianum and entered the university at Altdorf in 1669, where he also served as organist at the Lorenzkirche. He was forced to leave the university after less than a year due to lack of funds, and became a scholarship student at the Gymnasium poeticum at Regensburg, taking private instruction under Kaspar Prentz. While at Regensburg, he began to...
