Obama must seize his chance to give health care debate clear direction -- editorial Posted by kevobrie September 06, 2009 04:48AM
President Barack Obama plans to wade back into the nation's health care debate this week, possibly during a Labor Day speech in Cincinnati and certainly during a televised address to Congress Wednesday evening. Most reports suggest that he hopes to bring some clarity to a discussion that has lost focus amid a flurry of competing congressional bills, wild talk of death panels and other distortions by his opponents and, quite frankly, Obama's failure to enunciate clearly what he wants in any reform.
By not setting out clear parameters, Obama has allowed both his allies and his opponents to confuse the American public. Many Americans simply are unsure what is proposed and how it would affect them. If the president lays down some clear markers, it will help them understand what's at stake and could establish the framework for a productive debate in Washington and throughout the land.

More propaganda from state-run media.
Um, the president tried to do this in his last speech on healthcare and he ended up rambling and saying stupid things like amputations cost $30,000.
If the presient tries to do this again, the public will be even more skeptical of his words....which is all he has.
The people spent August whacking arrogant DC politicians upside the head for trying to do something they DO NOT want done. But the Plain Dealer editors are convinced that Zero only needs to get into people’s faces yet again and tell them more forcefully and bluntly what he insists on doing (to them).
Right.
Obama has given health care debate clear direction since day one. Simply put it is: The Obama way or the highway.
Oh PLEASE let him field a question about Van Jones on live tv!!
Obama : "Van Jones is a victim of a viscious racial attack by whitey!!!"
I'm just waiting for him to say it...
“If the president tries to do this again...”
I’m pretty sure he will not deviate from the teleprompter this time.
Dream on! The only people who don’t understand what is going on are the gimme people who don’t care about what the polucy is they just want something free. Unfortunately they aren’t smart enough to understand that unless you have zero income this will not be free at all. I’ve read $7000 per family member and increased income taxes on pretty much everyone so it will be limited care for 10X as much as it costs now.
