19:13-15 Then little children were brought to Jesus for him to place his hands on them and pray for them. But the disciples rebuked those who brought them. Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these." When he had placed his hands on them, he went on from there. | 10:13-16 People were bringing little children to Jesus to have him touch them, but the disciples rebuked them. When Jesus saw this, he was indignant. He said to them, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." And he took the children in his arms, put his hands on them and blessed them. | 18:15-17 People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it." |

The disciples seemed over protective and wanting to make decisions for Jesus. They needed a necessary lesson from Jesus, let the children be innocent and faithful role models for adults. Was at the time a pervasive attitude that children were not important? Why didn’t the disciples share Jesus’ perspective? Were there cultural, psychological, social, ethical reasons why they felt the way they did?
Greg Olsen is wonderful with his paintings.
Tissot also does that in #10...but Tissot is pretty much always spot on!
There's just something 'extra' about #40...it feels...peaceful...beautiful.
Hi, John. There are one or two more Hippolytes in upcoming episodes.
that was in Today’s Sermon.
Coincidence? I think NOT! :-)
You know, God really is behind every single bush.
Thanks. There is a God-shaped hole in every human heart.
