There are still many mysteries that surround Stonehenge, but one element that archaeologists generally agree upon is the origin of some of its monolithic stones. A study conducted in the 2010s indicated that the standing bluestones were quarried around 140 miles from the legendary monument, at two locations in Wales. According to a statement released by the British Geological Survey (BGS), new research has further strengthened the ties between Stonehenge and that region, and revealed how the megaliths were transported. During excavations at Stonehenge in 1924, archaeologists discovered a cow's jawbone near the south entrance, and dated it to the...

The mystery of the missing sea is one that has personally intrigued me recently. Through all of the Welsh history I have covered on this channel, I have never encountered a phenomenon as mysterious as what I've dubbed as the "islands that aren't islands". Throughout a small valley in Wales, near the towns of Porthmadog and Tremadog, there are 10 hills that aren't called hills at all, but "islands", despite being completely away from the ocean, a phenomenon that is completely unique throughout the history of Wales. Wales' history is full of mysteries, and these islands that aren't islands, surrounded...

Over the past several years, excavations beneath Cardiff's Trelai Park, a popular spot for sports and recreation, have unveiled thousands of years of local history. The site is close to the Iron Age Caerau hillfort as well as an extensive Roman-era villa. BBC News reports that archaeologists from Caerau and Ely Rediscovering Heritage Project (CAER) recently discovered another Bronze Age structure, a timber circle, and burial ground containing pits with cremated human...

3 Muslims in Wales kidnapped a Jewish man, tied him to a radiator, and brutally beat and tortured him. They intended to kill him, but he survived only because he managed to escape. Can you imagine the global outrage if the opposite happened? Why is the media silent? ... This is reminiscent of the three Jewish boys that the Boston bombers murdered (their throats cut) on the tenth anniversary of September 11, 2011. This was before they waged their slaughter jihad on the Boston Marathon. No one knows that story either. If that Islamic triple murder had been investigated properly...

Warning: This story contains strong and offensive language. Far-right activists groomed people by "piggybacking on legitimate concerns" about asylum seekers, a prominent Welsh politician has said. Former government minister Lee Waters said vulnerable constituents in Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, were targeted to push a "race agenda" during protests in the town in 2023. UK government plans to temporarily house asylum seekers in the four-star Stradey Park Hotel prompted 100 days of protests. The Llanelli MS' comments come as pressure grows on police to investigate a far-right group exposed in an undercover BBC investigation. "What the far right do time and again is...

The Tradition: Geoffrey of Monmouth and other medieval Arthurian writers tell us that Arthur was taken to the Isle of Avalon to be healed of his wounds after the Battle of Camlann. Later tradition assumed that he died and was buried there and identified the place as Glastonbury in Somerset. The Theory & Discovery: Blackett & Wilson claim that one of the two figures who went to make up "King Arthur" is to be identified with the Emperor Magnus Maximus's son, King Anwn of South Wales. This man, who occasionally may have spelt his name Arthun, they identify with both...

Owners of a solar farm torn to pieces were among those counting the cost of killer Storm Darragh - as recovery work was ongoing on Monday. Hundreds of panels at the giant 190-acre Porth Wen solar farm in Anglesey, North Wales - only built two years ago - were blown off their mountings, some ripped to shreds. The site at Llanbadrig, in the north of the island which is owned by French power firm EDF Energy and powers up to 9,500 households, now needs significant repairs. Elsewhere on the island of Anglesey, blades were sheared off a wind turbine which...

Made one black African woman feel unsafe... The Welsh government has been advised to create dog free spaces in outdoor public areas after an ‘anti-racist’ group asserted it is making black Africans ‘feel unsafe’. Yes, really. The environmental group Climate Cymru BAME has issued a report instructing the government to create “dog-free areas in local green spaces” as part of an “anti-racist” drive to make the country more “inclusive”. The advice was reinforced by another group, the North Wales Africa Society, which complained that “one black African female stated that she feels unsafe with the presence of dogs” during a...
