LOVE must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Rom 9:12 Some are disappointed the Repubs didn’t win 100+ seats and take the Sinate; although it could have been worse you could be a Dem. What a great night for freedom as we watched victory after victory sweep across our much improved Country. America was freed from the oppressors as Patriots of this Revolution were elected across this land and even progress was made on the Leftist Coast. Sure we elected Brown the Clown and Box-a-Rocks as well as the Tennis Shoe Murray and most of...

Here's an eye-popping poll from SurveyUSA that shows Republican challenger Scott Bruun with a 10-point lead over Democratic Rep. Kurt Schrader in Oregon's 5th Congressional District. The survey, conducted for KATU TV, says Bruun is ahead 51 percent to 41 percent in a poll conducted Oct. 17-19. That even exceeds an internal survey for the Bruun campaign showing him with a four-point lead. There's no doubt that Schrader is in real trouble. My only caveat is that I wonder about SurveyUSA's estimate of who will turn out in the election. The latest voter registration figures I've seen by congressional district...

There has been a lot of discussion of the election results in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, Kentucky and Arkansas by the talking head on TV and talk show pundits on the radio, not not much information on the results in Oregon. Why am I interested in the results on Oregon? Glad you asked. Art Robinson ran in the GOP Primary to represent the Oregon in 4th Congressional District. Wise Republican voters selected Dr. Art Robinson to represent them in the November 2010 Congressional race against Democrat Peter DeFazio. I saw an online video by Art Robinson at the 4th International Climate Change...

After several years at the helm of the Lewis and Clark Law School, Republican James Huffman says he will run for U.S. Senate and try to unseat longtime Democrat Ron Wyden. Huffman says Wyden has supported corporate bailouts and the stimulus plan which have not helped create jobs and fix unemployment. Huffman acknowledges the race will be an uphill battle but is confident people are ready for change. Say what you will about the ObamaCare debate, but it has had at least one effect — we’ve learned the names of a lot more Congressmen than in the past. After Ohio’s John Boccieri flipped from a no to a yes this morning, Peter DeFazio of Oregon flipped the other way this afternoon, putting Nancy Pelosi another vote farther from getting 216 on Sunday: Just when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi seemed to be one vote shy of the 216 she needs for health care reform to pass, a Democrat who voted for the bill last year says he’s switching his...

Just got back from a spontaneous Tea Party rally in the Belly of the Beast. We had it in front of the Oregon DNC HQ in downtown Portland Oregon. An email was intercepted from organizing America from OBama and Tom Cox suggested we have a rally in front of their meeting. 150 of us showed up and 3 of them, it was awesome. We had around 7 candidates running from local boardmembers to US Senator candidate. The powerful part was individual schmoes spoke and made incredible points and powerful statements. Lasted around 90 mins and will have a video up...

Another “safe” Democratic senator may not be quite as safe as he thought. The first Rasmussen Reports Election 2010 telephone survey of likely voters in Oregon finds incumbent Democratic Senator Ron Wyden with a 49% to 35% lead over law professor Jim Huffman, the most prominent Republican reportedly considering running against him.

Seven percent (7%) prefer some other candidate, and nine percent (9%) are undecided. Given Oregon’s political leanings, it’s a tough struggle for any Republican candidate against a popular Democrat like Wyden. Still, an incumbent who polls less than 50% at this stage of the campaign is viewed as...

PORTLAND, Ore. – A surge of last-minute ballots was expected Tuesday as Oregon voters decided whether to impose higher taxes on businesses and the wealthy. Polling in the special election suggested the results on Measures 66 and 67 will be close. The stakes in the struggle between business interests and public employee unions are high — the revenue from the two measures is expected to account for about 5.5 percent of the state's general fund budget over the next two years. Opponents of the taxes say draining the money from private hands would damage the state's economy, still hurting from...

Early Ore. Vote Results Come Gushing In THE ASSOCIATED PRESS January 26, 2010 PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) -- Early results from Oregon's special election came gushing in, and two tax measures were ahead on the strength of votes from Multnomah County, home of the liberal bastion Portland. Polling suggested the final count could be closer. The heavy vote was a result of a new law that allows mailed in ballots to be scanned days in advance of the close of voting. With nearly three-quarters of the expected vote counted, 55 percent had voted for Measure 66, which would impose higher taxes...

EUGENE, Ore. -- Sarah Palin will speak at the Eugene Hilton on April 23, according to Dr. Bill Young, chairman of the Lane County Republican Party. The dinner and speech will not be open to the public. Lane County Republicans plan to mail invitations to volunteers, donors and precinct committee people in Lane County. Proceeds will go to support the Lane County Republican Party. About 750 tickets will be available. If there is still room available, they will make tickets available to Republicans in other counties. Palin recently became a commentator on Fox News. She stepped down as governor of...

Oregon Reps. Peter DeFazio and Greg Walden are at a crossroads in their congressional careers as they ponder jumping into a wide-open race for governor in 2010. Democrat DeFazio and Republican Walden are each tempted by the likely prospect of becoming his party's nominee -- as veteran Portland lawyer and lobbyist Walt Evans puts it, each would "start on third base." But each also has compelling reasons to stay in Congress.
