I lived in the Willamette Valley for a year, and when I first moved there, in the beginning, I thought I was an island of conservatism in a sea of liberals. I eventually discovered that there are some very conservative folks who thought and believed as I did, even in Portland and Eugene. I was surprised at how many!
I live in my native state of Illinois now, but I still try to keep up with what is going on in Oregon.
Oh, yes! When the Gulf War began in 1991, some people along Coburg Road placed their United States flags into the holes available in the public easement. They had to be removed, because they constituted “an illegal display of the American flag.” When our National Guard troops returned after the armistice, the police prevented me from taking an American flag into the air terminal, because I might use it as a weapon.

Oregon just might wake up as the loonies from California invade their state. When they ask the loonies why the came north they explain all the problems and reasons. Oregonians are now catching on as what they have run from is what they created.... A MESS! Now coming to a neighborhood near you!
