Okaloosa County deputies are charging two 14-year-olds believed to be part of a "national swatting group" following an investigation into a swatting call at Baker School in November. Those arrested are Landyn Whittington of Baker (19 felony charges) and Camwryn Gulley of Mansfield, Texas (four felony charges). Whittington is an online student from Baker. The sheriff's office says the group they are a part of -- called "LulzSEC" -- pays members with cryptocurrency to commit crimes. "Member Camwryn Gulley told investigators Landyn Whittington asked for a member of the group to swat Baker School," a release from the sheriff's office...

The loose hacker collective Anonymous says it has taken revenge on a US security company whose principal claimed to have penetrated the group and identified some of its key people. They hacked the Twitter account of Aaron Barr, the chief executive of HBGary, and sent out a series of angry tweets while many Americans were watching the Super Bowl match on Sunday night, allegedly including Barr's social security number and address, and his mobile phone number.

A last-ditch effort to persuade President Donald Trump to issue a pre-emptive pardon to Wikileaks founder Julian Assange is reportedly being blocked by White House counsel Pat Cipollone, according to reports. A high-level source in the Trump administration reported to Breitbart News that while the President is sympathetic to pardoning Assange, Cipollone is not — and the continued opposition of the White House counsel is making a pardon increasingly unlikely. A federal grand jury returned a second superseding indictment today charging Julian P. Two former federal agents accused of stealing bitcoins have been charged with wire fraud, money laundering and related offenses, the U.S. Justice Department said in a statement. Carl Force, a former special agent with the Drug Enforcement Administration, and Shaun Bridges, a former Secret Service special agent, were both part of a Baltimore task force investigating Silk Road, the online marketplace often labeled the eBay of the drug trade. A computer hacker connected to the group Anonymous could face life in prison for stealing credit card, email, and other personal information from a private intelligence company, and posting it on the Internet. A group of hackers who breached the Senate computer system earlier this week claimed responsibility for problems with the CIA's website today. The group, known as Lulz Security, tweeted 'Tango down - CIA.gov,' and there were difficulties throughout the early evening accessing the agency's website. The computer mischief appeared to be targeting the CIA's public website, which does not include classified data and has no impact on the CIA's operation. CIA spokesman Marie Harf said the agency is looking into the reports.
