For months, The Real Sabu, as he called himself on Twitter, boasted, cursed and egged on his followers to take part in computer attacks against private companies and government agencies worldwide.

“Don’t give in to these people,” he wrote on Monday, ridiculing “cowards” in the federal government. “Fight back. Stay strong.”

It turns out that Sabu had become an informant for federal law enforcement authorities. On Tuesday, in what could be one of the biggest breakthroughs in the government crackdown on a loose, large confederation of politically inspired “hacktivists,” he was unmasked and revealed to have helped the authorities catch several fellow hackers in Europe and the United States.

My statement on yesterday's FBI raid on my apartment and my mother's home. pastebin.com/vZEteA3C #Anonymous #ProjectPM

"As I have noted, the FBI raided my apartment in Dallas on the morning of March 6th. I was not there at the time; I had been given a vague warning that a raid was to take place the next day, so I went to my mom's place, where she lives with her husband, who is out of town, on the 5th. On the morning of the 6th, three FBI agents came to my mom's door and asked if I was there. She woke me up and I went down to talk to them. They told me that they'd executed a search warrant at my apartment and that the door had been broken in the process, and then asked me if I had any laptops with me here at my mom's place that I wanted to give them. I responded in the negative, and they left. At that point I began taking calls and e-mails from the press regarding Sabu,.... More@ http://pastebin.com/vZEteA3C

snip.."The documentation left with me by the FBI after the raid on my mother's home states that the evidence they were looking for pertains to "conspiracy to obstruct justice, and the obstruction of justice, i.e. tampering with a victim, witness, or informant" and "conspiracy to access without authorization protected computers, and fraud and related activity in connection with computers (aiding and abetting), in whatever form, namely:

I’m glad they are busting the loser leftie hackers, but isn’t this just committing entrapment via a proxy? Feds can’t do it, but it’s ok if they pay a criminal to do it for them?

Good question. Did the FBI reimburse everyone for the losses of the first WTC bombing that they allowed to happen in spite of the fact that they had an informant on the inside of the plot?

The “Radicalist” Obama White House is now instructing the FBI to entrap “Radicalist” hackers to hack into “Zionist” private business consultants IT infrastructure at the bequest of whom?

Is the entire FBI infrastructure now focused against eh ideological enemies of the White House? And how about other DoD and Intel communities?

How many FBI whistleblowers came forward? How many resigned?

these geeks are poster children for the progressive movement:

“In a telephone interview from her home outside Austin, Texas, the mother of one of the suspects, Hammond, told The Associated Press on Wednesday that her son was a brilliant computer whiz but apparently couldn’t stop himself from applying his genius to “get the goat of America.”

“He does have a good heart, but, I don’t know, he just wants to make those who disagree with him suffer,” Rose Collins said. “He thinks America is evil, has done everything wrong.”

That made for some tension in the family. Collins described herself as a staunch conservative who has attended tea party rallies. Hammond’s father, now jailed in a Chicago suburb awaiting trial on a charge of aggravated sexual abuse of a minor, was “very, very far left,” Collins said. “So far off the charts that one more step he’s going to fall off the planet.”

Hammond, she said, was raised by his father after the couple split up and adopted his politics.

“He wants to end capitalism,” she said.

Collins said her son could have done anything with his computer skills but had a penchant for using them to raise a ruckus. In high school, she said, he hacked into the school’s mainframe computer to demonstrate its security vulnerabilities. He did the same thing when he went to college at the University of Illinois at Chicago, which earned him an expulsion, Collins said.

The university confirmed that Hammond was a computer science major but left without a degree in 2004. It wouldn’t say whether he was kicked out, citing federal privacy laws.

A year later, Hammond was caught hacking in to a conservative website and stealing credit card information. He pleaded guilty and was sentenced to two years in prison.

Collins said she hopes her son is innocent.

“I’m praying for that,” she said.

But she added that she has long admired his courage and passion for his political beliefs, even if she didn’t share them.

“He’s a braver man than me,” she said.”
