GREEN BAY — Lambeau Field is in need of snow removal — and the Packers want your brute strength to help get the job done. The team’s asking anyone who wants to pitch in to stop by the stadium on Wednesday morning, Dec. 4. The Packers are looking for as many as 600 brave people to assist with the snow-clearing process. ... Shovelers need to be at least 18 years old and will receive $12 per hour, with payment to be made immediately upon completion of their work. The Packers will provide shovels to all who come to help.

MADISON, Wis. — Thirsty for some Packers and politics? The Wisconsin GOP and some national friends say they’ve got a slushie of truth for you. On Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., the Republican Party of Wisconsin and the National Republican Senatorial Committee will hand out free slushies at the Green Bay Packers home, Lambeau Field, to “highlight Russ Feingold’s (don’t call him Senator Russ) slush fund scandal.” The liberal Feingold is challenging U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson for the conservative’s Senate seat in a rematch of the 2010 race. Earlier this week, the NRSC launched a billboard and the WISGOP released...

Frozen memories, for sure. Frostbite memories, even. In the history of NFL games, none stands out for the brutal conditions in which it was played like the NFC championship on the last day of 1967. Simply dubbed the Ice Bowl, those who participated in Cowboys-Packers that day at Lambeau Field still shiver when talking about it. With Dallas paying its first postseason visit to Green Bay since losing 21-17 on Bart Starr's quarterback sneak with 13 seconds remaining on that frigid day, recalling that game 47 years ago is timely.

Some war veterans in the Green Bay area were offended Sunday when the Packers flew the U.S. flag at half-staff at Lambeau Field in honor of the late Reggie White, the Green Bay Press Gazette reported Tuesday. Ron Sager of Appleton, founder of the Fox Valley Vietnam Veterans Association, said the honor is reserved for those who have served or made a sacrifice for their country. "It does cheapen the reason" for flying the flag at half-staff, Sager told the paper. "Obviously (Packers president] Bob Harlan was thinking that this is something he could use to pay tribute to White,...

BUSH MAKES UNSCHEDULED STOP: LAMBEAU FIELD: President Bush gets his car in front of Lambeau Field, the hallowed stadium of the Green Bay Packers, to shake hands and get his picture taken —- Kerry, earlier in the race, referred to the stadium as Lambert Field.

WASHINGTON (AP) Note to presidential candidates: When in Wisconsin make sure you get your legendary sports figures' names correct. Democratic nominee John Kerry has gotten some grief, in Wisconsin and nationally, for referring to Lambeau Field as ``Lambert Field'' during a campaign appearance. Vice President Dick Cheney was quoted as saying, ``The next thing is he'll be convinced Vince Lombardi is a foreign leader.'' President Bush offered Kerry some advice during an appearance in Wisconsin this month. He said: ``If someone offers you a cheesehead, don't say you want some wine. Just put it on your head and take a...

MILWAUKEE, Sept. 14 -- Forget soccer moms and NASCAR dads. The most important demographic in these parts transcends gender and geography -- it's Green Bay Packers fans. Both candidates are targeting them with the ferocity of a Brett Favre bullet, but only John F. Kerry has fumbled the name of the hallowed grounds on which the Packers play, the frozen tundra of Curly Lambeau Field. At a campaign event last month, the Democratic presidential nominee called it Lambert Field -- a slip of the tongue carried on television, in papers throughout the state and on ESPN's Web site. That's akin...

Members of the Pack sport it on their jerseys too, but I can't find the logo on packers.com. I imagine it has to do with the frozen tundra's renovation. This inquiring Eagles fan wants to know. Please describe it. All the words I can read on it (on TV) are "Lambeau Field" but there must be other writ.
