MADISON, Wis. Thirsty for some Packers and politics?
The Wisconsin GOP and some national friends say theyve got a slushie of truth for you.
On Saturday beginning at 1 p.m., the Republican Party of Wisconsin and the National Republican Senatorial Committee will hand out free slushies at the Green Bay Packers home, Lambeau Field, to highlight Russ Feingolds (dont call him Senator Russ) slush fund scandal.
The liberal Feingold is challenging U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson for the conservatives Senate seat in a rematch of the 2010 race.
Earlier this week, the NRSC launched a billboard and the WISGOP released a direct mailer on Feinolds campaign finance hypocrisy.
Feingold, the godfather of campaign finance reform, has had a tough go of it trying to explain why his progressive political action committee delivered so much of its proceeds to itself and comparatively little to the liberal candidates it was supposed to help.
As Wisconsin Watchdog reported in June, Feingolds Progressives United spent more than $40,000 on travel costs between February 2011 and June 2013, while Feingold served as an adviser to the liberal organization.
Documents also suggest the PAC paid for Feingolds Washington, D.C., apartment in the heart of lobbyist central.
Meanwhile, American Bridge, a front group for Hillary Clinton and liberal causes, is pounding the drum that Johnson voted for a bill that would defund Planned Parenthood. They say a bill Johnson supports would leave some women without insurance for birth control if their employer doest (sic) want to provide it.
NARAL Pro-Choice America called the proposal nothing but political pandering to trick women and families into thinking we are covered while dismantling one of the most critical gains in the Affordable Care Act.
The bill, however, would allow birth-control pills to be sold over-the-counter, going around an Obamacare mandate that health insurers be forced to cover the contraceptives, which must be prescribed by a doctor. The idea is that greater market access will drive down the costs.
MMM
SLUSHIES! The Wisconsin GOP turns politics into slushies this weekend at the Frozen Tundra.
Wisconsin GOP chides Feingold by serving free slushies at Lambeau Field on Sat.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
sippin’ on a slurpie!
Cute!
Feingold is a total POS. I had to deal with him during Operation Desert Shield/Storm. I needed a measly $10K to keep a Family Assistance Center open to help the families of Wisconsin soldiers that were mobilized.
You know, to HELP THE CHILDREN get their benefits due them with Mom or Dad mobilized? HEALTHCARE for CHILDREN!
That @ss acted as if I were asking HIM to write ME a check! He was so dismissive and SO condescending and so filled with contempt!
I have loathed him ever since. He certainly proved himself to be just another self-important POS SOCIALIST.
Tell John Kerry he can pick up his at Lambert Field.
I visited his office at Bush’s first inauguration. Kohl had secured tickets for us when Sensenbrenner (at first) said that he didn’t have any tickets. Kohl never showed up in person, so we stopped over to meet Feingold who had some goodies laid out on a buffet table. (Kohl’s office had a nicer spread.)
BUT, his staff tried to keep us there, instead of allowing us to go find our alloted places where the crowd was gathering. As a consequence, we couldn’t get inside the gates, as they had already closed our entrance. We had to stand outside the fence for that momentous event.
Feingold had his office set up for constituents to take pictures with him. He had a giant table, serving as a desk, with 2 flags flanking the rear. He remained seated while the people wanting the pictures stood behind him between the flags. His staff took the pictures. All of this stagecraft avoided the the situation which would show him standing next to his constituents, thus emphasizing what a short. sawed-off-SOB he is.
Rusty is never going to beat Ron Johnson. I REFUSE to believe that!
I might actually have a, ‘I’m moving to Canada!’ moment if that happens, LOL!
