Russian drones have attacked Ukrainian ports on the River Danube, destroying grain storage infrastructure, local officials say. The facilities are just across the river from Nato-member Romania. The Danube is a key export route for Kyiv since Russia pulled out of a deal allowing Ukraine to ship wheat, corn and other products via the Black Sea. A grain depot was also destroyed in the Black Sea port city of Odesa, which has come under almost nightly attack. Officials say more than 60,000 tonnes of grain have been destroyed in the past week.

KYIV, Ukraine (AP) – Russia followed its withdrawal from a grain export deal by expanding its attacks from port infrastructure to farm storage buildings in Ukraine’s Odesa region Friday, while also practicing a Black Sea blockade. Other Russian missiles damaged what officials described only as an “important infrastructure facility” southwest of the port city of Odesa, in what appeared to be an effort to cripple Ukraine’s food exports. Attacks in recent days have put Odesa in Russia’s crosshairs after Moscow abandoned a wartime deal that allowed Ukraine to send grain through the key Black Sea port. Russia pounded Ukraine’s southern...

City rescue crews are cleaning up the debris and Russia's Investigative Committee said its inspectors were also on the scene gathering forensics evidence. Russia's Defense Ministry called the incident a "terrorist attack" and insisted just eight drones had been spotted over the capital. Independent...

China’s navy has significant advantages over its US rival, including a bigger fleet and greater shipbuilding capacity, as Beijing seeks to project its power across the oceans, the head of the United States Navy said Tuesday. Key points — in our brief, #UkraineWorldAnalysis: 1. On Putin's intention to plunge Europe into a dark winter The Russian Federation is trying to exert economic and political pressure on Ukraine and other European countries. European countries were able to diversify their income and reduce their dependence on Russian gas during the heating season due supplies of electricity from Ukraine. Ukraine's support is essential. Russia plans to block this possibility. It is no coincidence that after October 11, Ukraine announced a temporary suspension of Ukraine's electricity exports to Europe. 2.
