As editors and reporters in the Chicago Sun-Times/WBEZ newsroom geared up for President Trump’s proclamation earlier this month that he intended to send the National Guard to Chicago, we asked ourselves: How could we possibly cover the deployment of troops and more ICE agents if the operation was large and dispersed? One avenue? Engage the public. (As we published this story, Trump announced that he would be sending the National Guard to Memphis instead. The administration’s anti-immigration operation in Chicago continues.) So interactive developer Andjela Padejski and Chicago Public Media’s AI fellow Mark Chonofsky got to work on a...

The U.S. Supreme Court again backed President Donald Trump's hard-line approach toward immigration on Monday, letting federal agents proceed with raids in Southern California targeting people for deportation based on their race or language. The court granted a Justice Department request to put on hold a federal judge's order temporarily barring agents from stopping or detaining people without "reasonable suspicion" they are in the country illegally, by relying on race or ethnicity, or if they speak Spanish or English with an accent, among other factors. The Supreme Court's three liberal justices publicly dissented from the decision. Los Angeles-based U.S. District...

George Floyd was a criminal and a sometime thug. By the time he died of a drug overdose in 2020, he had spent at least the last 23 years committing crimes. Over that 23-year period, he was arrested at least nine times for everything from drug possession and distribution to theft to aggravated assault. He was stopped for a wide variety of other activities that required him to do community service or did not result in an arrest. Nine arrests over 23 years might not sound like a lot, but for more than eight of those years, he was in...

Mayor Vi Lyles of Charlotte, North Carolina just issued the most vile, pathetic statement I’ve ever read in response to the gruesome murder of a young woman on a train in the city. For some background, we reported on the full story of the demonic attack right here: -snip The murder was committed by a 34-year-old black, homeless ex-con named Decarlos Brown Jr. In Mayor Lyles' statement, she all but took his side. Not once did she mention the victim, a Ukrainian refugee who had fled the war, Iryna Zarutska, by name. Instead, she focused on the poor murderer's mental...

An anniversary is coming soon. One of the lessons from that day was "never forget." We have forgotten. This story begins at least 35 years ago MUSLIM BROTHERHOOD 1990 "We do not want to melt into American Society and disappear, we want to go into American society with Islamic ideals and revamp their thinking" "We want to revamp them, we want to turn them into Muslims" pic.twitter.com/f0iJBStUVy — Culture War Report (@CultureWar2020) September 3, 2025In 1998 the founder of CAIR (Council of American-Islamic Relations) said"Islam isn't in America to be equal to any other faith, but to become dominant, the...

Leaders of the MAGA movement have a new warning: Don’t let America become like Britain. That was the howling conclusion at a conference of MAGA-aligned policymakers and think tanks this week in Washington, where elite voices, many with close ties to President Donald Trump, painted a dystopian, misleading and anti-Muslim picture of England as a bastion for dangerous immigrants. Stephen K. Bannon, Trump’s former chief of staff who continues to be an influential adviser, decried the “threat of Islamism in the U.K.,” positioning Britain as a cautionary tale of how mass migration could affect the United States. Others called the...

Rep. Yassamin Ansari, D-Ariz., sparked a social media firestorm on Thursday for saying she does not "give a sh--" whether people in her district can vote for her in a rebuke of President Donald Trump’s immigration policies. During a press conference on Capitol Hill on Thursday, Ansari was asked about her use of the term "constituents" while criticizing the Trump administration’s mass deportation efforts. "So, I didn’t realize this was such a controversy until the right-wing media started attacking me for using the word, so I Googled the word constituent. The definition of constituent is somebody who is part of...

…and start crying into their beer. That’s what happened over at NBC “News.” A dozen -- anonymous -- federal judges, appointed by both Republican and Democrat presidents, went whining to NBC about how hurt their feelings are that SCOTUS keeps overturning their garbage activist rulings and how it makes them look bad and gosh golly gee can SCOTUS knock it off pleeeeeeeez? The content of the piece is remarkable for its immaturity. The simple fact that they felt compelled to do this is itself indicative of a lack of impulse control and unworthiness to hold a gavel. They clearly lack the judicial...

US District Judge Amir Ali, a Biden appointee, blocked President Trump from cutting billions of dollars in USAID and foreign aid that Congress authorized. Trump will immediately appeal Judge Ali’s ruling. “President Trump has the executive authority to ensure that all foreign aid is accountable to taxpayers and aligns with the America First priorities people voted for,” White House spokeswoman Anna Kelly said in a statement to Reuters. Reuters reported:

If you had any doubts about the true agenda of the “pro-Palestine” movement, just consider last weekend’s annual People’s Conference for Palestine in Detroit. It was a gathering of martyrdom fetishists, Hamas supporters and antisemites, all bathing in an atmosphere of hate, rage and despair as they condemned Israel but reserved their deepest scorn for the United States. The focus was a kind of patriotism and love of country — for Palestine. No American flags were in sight, though a prominent “Glory to Our Martyrs” banner kept everyone mindful of their ultimate duty to the cause. Speakers vied to outdo...

Less than two weeks ago, a woman named Nathalie Rose Jones traveled from New York to Washington, DC with the intent of killing President Trump. US Attorney For DC Jeanine Pirro announced her arrest saying, “She was working to have [Trump] eliminated. She’s now in custody, she will be prosecuted to the fullest extent to the law.” Now this woman has been quietly released by Obama appointed Judge James Boasberg. That would be the same Judge Boasberg who has repeatedly interfered in efforts to deport illegal alien criminals. The New York Post reports:

Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the most radical member of the far-left squad, once again put her hatred for America and Israel on full display this weekend. Speaking at the People’s Conference for Palestine, a gathering packed with open Hamas sympathizers. Tlaib delivered a speech dripping with defiance, rage, and vulgarity.

The left’s “heroes” are too often liars, criminals, or violent radicals—canonized not for virtue, but for their usefulness to the progressive cause. American left-wing heroes are proving to be a creepy bunch. So what do some of the most renowned “resistance” left-wing heroes have in common other than shared hatred of conservative America? They are either criminals, pathological liars, or self-described performance-art victims. Take Kilmar Abrego Garcia, the current face of progressive resistance to the enforcement of federal immigration law. No one questions that Garcia had previously received deportation orders before he was re-arrested by ICE. No one argues that...

MINNEAPOLIS, MN - Democratic National Committee (DNC) Vice Chair Malcolm Kenyatta is among the party's leaders calling for Democrats to become "more aggressive in making life better for people." It was a common theme as more than 400 DNC committee members from all 50 states and seven territories huddled this past week for their summer meeting, which was held in Minnesota's largest city. As Democrats hunger for more forceful resistance against President Donald Trump's sweeping and controversial agenda, DNC Chair Ken Martin kicked off the three-day confab by targeting the president, arguing Trump's acting as "a dictator-in-chief" and that his...

The New York Times is engaged in whitewashing Zohran Mamdani's record as a radical socialist. Presumably, this is because President Trump has been attacking him as a communist, and if there is anything that smells like catnip to a liberal journalist, it is the opportunity to contradict what President Trump says. This is an actual sentence in a news report from The New York Times.Truly insane. pic.twitter.com/agtBmEprVm— Ryan Saavedra (@RealSaavedra) August 31, 2025Mamdani has been calling himself a socialist for as long as he has been a public figure. And not just a "Democratic Socialist," the current buzzword used to...

The crumbling facade at the CDC is finally collapsing—and it took one of the world’s most credentialed voices in medicine to pull the curtain back. On Sunday, Dr. Robert Malone, a pioneer of mRNA vaccine technology, clinical researcher, and now a new member of the ACIP, shredded Biden’s radical “Pro-Gay Orgy Czar” Dr. Demetre Daskalakis in a fiery exchange over the collapse of credibility at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Malone posted bluntly on X about the wave of resignations rocking the CDC: “The real reason for the recent CDC resignations is that the ACIP Subcommittee on COVID...

Britain faces an epidemic it refuses to name, while Israel, with a larger Muslim minority, has kept it in check. The difference holds urgent lessons. In the days before the establishment of Israel, when Arabs made up nearly 70 percent of the population and Jews were a minority suffering harsh pogroms, even rumors of sexual violence against a Jewish girl were met with the harshest retribution...

When a man can declare himself a woman, how do we know what is true or false anymore? The institutions we might once have looked to – from academia to journalism to science – have all rallied around the absurdity that we can change sex at will. Here, Wesley Yang – essayist and author of The Souls of Yellow Folk – explains how a ‘successor ideology’ has captured the liberal mind. It has swapped tolerance and pluralism for brutal authoritarianism. And it has redefined reality itself, embedding lies in the fabric of our institutions. Democracy, Wesley says, is our only...
