Maybe the traffic was lighter than usual, maybe the FReeprs wanted to scoot out of work early, or maybe we all were just anxious to get to Walter Reed early so as to show our support for the troops. But it wasn't long after I got there at 6:30 that all four corners were filled with FReepers showing their support for our troops. And indeed what a magnificent job brave men and women in uniform are doing in Iraq and Afghanistan. Anyone who is not a Democrat or leftard (oh wait those are one and the same) knows that the...

Well, actually, it depends on what the definition of "serenade" is. From our perspective, it was sweet music, kind of opera-like, or hearing Lee Greenwood's "God Bless the U.S.A.". To the moonbats, it was like screeching, worn down, brake drums, or hearing that the surge is working. BELOW LEFT: Doctor Raoul asking the moonbats to sign the Al Queda Peace Accord and dedicate themselves to committing suicide if it fails. BELOW RIGHT: Kristinn repeatedly bring home the point that "The Surge IS Working". Both pointed out the 'quackers' lies over the years. Lurker Bill is in back ground while our...

Having conducted over a hundred of these support the troop events at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (WR), FReepers are rarely surprised at these events. On July 27, FReepers from DC Chapter and beyond were rewarded with a wonderful surprise ending after they braved several lines of storms before and during the weekly support the troops gathering. (Here is a web page with the background of the event, which is also a FReep of the cruel Code Pinkos and their fellow travelers assembled down the block to continue their vicious taunting of wounded troops. It also describes the intense hatred...

The second annual gathering of the Daily Kos political blog starts this week in Chicago, and here's all you need to know about how influential the YearlyKos convention has become: Five top presidential candidates are going -- including front-runner Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, even though the Kos bloggers don't like her that much. Analysts say the community of liberal online activists -- the "netroots" -- has become not only a coveted constituency for the left but a legitimate threat to conservatives, who trail Democrats in online campaigning and fundraising. Another sign of the growing power of the Daily Kos convention...

The anti-American left has announced their plans to descend on our nation's capital in September to help their terrorist allies overseas on the political front in Congress.September is going to be the mother of all battles. The left is going all out to bring about the defeat of America in the war on terror. Their immediate goal is to pressure Congress into giving up on the Iraq front so that their terrorist allies have a safe haven in which to wage war on America and our allies in the Middle East. They believe public opinion is on their side. And why...

WASHINGTON, DC, July 20, 2007— In a week in which half of the US Congress continues to believe that a suicidally determined enemy will no longer pose a threat if Congress abandons the Iraqi people and the War on Terror, FReepers and military family members continue to uphold the majority of the American people — who support the mission as well as "the troops", who want to stay safe, and who are disgusted with a Congress that, depending which poll you ask, has generated its lowest approval ratings yet as it continues to dither over whether to surrender outright, or...

After standing with the D.C. Chapter at Arlington National Cemetery Monday morning to protest Cindy Sheehan's campaign rally there, two women whose husbands were killed serving in Iraq confronted Sheehan and her supporters outside Rep. John Conyers' office on Capitol Hill several hours later. The two Gold Star wives stood in the hallway right outside the door to Conyers' office to rebuke Sheehan for betraying the sacrifices made by their husbands. Sheehan blew them off, raising and extending her right hand to ward them off as she approached the office and the assembled media horde. Sheehan's posse quickly surrounded the wives,...

Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan leads a march from Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., Monday, July 23, 2007, to Capitol Hill where her group was to ask the House Judiciary Committee Chairman Rep. John Conyers, D-Mich., to begin impeachment proceedings against the Bush administration. (AP Photo/Gerald Herbert) ARLINGTON, Va. - Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan on Monday moved another step - actually several thousand of them - toward carrying out her promise to run against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi because the California Democrat won't consider impeachment proceedings against President Bush. Sheehan and about 200 other war protesters began walking from...

Imagine if the Democratic Party did for peace what the Republicans do for war. --DS (David Swanson) Pro-war Eagles tied to Republican Party & Conservative Media By David Dixon, www.CharlotteAction.org The chairman of Gathering of Eagles (GOE), Ret. U.S. Navy Captain Larry Bailey (he was a leader of GOE's protest of Cindy Sheehan's Journey For Humanity & Accountability in Charlotte, NC on July 17), was the president of the Vietnam Vets for the Truth, "which attacked 2004 Democratic Presidential candidate Senator John Kerry's military record, on the heels of the more well-known" Swift Boat Veterans for Truth. kristinn resting after the Hornet Dance I thought our usual Friday night Walter Reed Freep was going to start off without a hitch when kristinn began doing this crazy dance on the way out of the parking lot onto the sidewalk. He was slapping himself on the back and singing, "HO HAY HA YOW HEE AH AH!". I thought he was celebrating Friday the 13th or something so I joined in. "HO HAY HA YOW HEE HO HAY HA YOW HEE!" Threw in a few kicks, some old soft shoe, spun around a few times. A Hokey-Pokey sort of...

EAGLES UP! Much has happened since that cold March day when we gathered, angry and determined at the Vietnam Memorial. We know that from the earliest days of this country there were citizens who believed that we had no reason to fight England. Over the following two centuries Americans marched in the streets to demand that America avoid war at all cost. During WW-I hundreds of thousands of citizens demonstrated against our involvement. During the 1930’s many carried signs demanding peace at any price. During the Korean and Vietnam wars, protesters came out like cockroaches out of the wood-work. History...

The Gospel of Gore By Amanda Carpenter Monday, July 9, 2007 If Al Gore wore a high-collared black suit instead of a polo shirt and jeans to the Washington, D.C. Live Earth concert, he might have been mistaken for a preacher. He gave a brief sermon Saturday, July 7 on global warming with a solemn opening. “Today we are gathered on all seven continents and eight giant concerts and in 10,000 other gatherings, many as large as this one, two billion people, we are gathered, with one message.” He then asked those congregated on the National Mall to commit themselves...

WASHINGTON, DC, June 29, 2007— Imagine our surprise when, as we started putting up our banners at the gates of Walter Reed Army hospital, there stood George, Larry and other North Carolina Gathering of Eagles members, last seen by FReepers at the Gathering of Eagles–Chapel Hill. This vanload of citizen patriots would be spending the weekend far from home to cheer the troops as Independence Day was drawing near. They had stopped by our weekly Friday night Walter Reed troop-support rally on their way to a GOE rally and counter-demonstration against northern moonbats at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey on Saturday.
