The Gospel of Gore By Amanda Carpenter Monday, July 9, 2007
If Al Gore wore a high-collared black suit instead of a polo shirt and jeans to the Washington, D.C. Live Earth concert, he might have been mistaken for a preacher.
He gave a brief sermon Saturday, July 7 on global warming with a solemn opening. Today we are gathered on all seven continents and eight giant concerts and in 10,000 other gatherings, many as large as this one, two billion people, we are gathered, with one message.
He then asked those congregated on the National Mall to commit themselves to his cause.
I hope that all of you will join me in taking my seven-point Live Earth pledge, and here are the words, he said before enumerating his commandments.

A self-identified "freeper" named Kristinn Taylor, also a spokesman for the Memorial Day Gathering of Eagles event, held signs that read Save the World, Kill the Terrorists and Live Earth is a Planet Killer.

“Today we are gathered on all seven continents and eight giant concerts and in 10,000 other gatherings, many as large as this one, two billion people, we are gathered, with one message.” I wondered where that two billion number came from. And isn't it funny how the MSM regurgitated it as gospel with no fact checking?

I'm fairly certain that the 2 billion figure includes the total number of people who could have watched one or more of the concerts on TV. If that's the case, I can assure everyone that I know of at least 2 people that didn't watch any of it.
Rev. Al, I guess you'll have to settle for 1,999,999,998.

Al, Dude, you better remind your eco-buddies to buy a bunch of carbon offsets before the “Burning Man” hippiefest in September.

“Two Billion People”...
..Another over-blown piece of self aggrandizing propaganda.
Like most of Al Gore’s “Facts” -pulled directly out of his ass and vastly over stated.
Whole countries come to a standstill to watch the Soccer World Cup final and that has a viewing audience of less than one and a half billion, I would bet Gore didn’t get one FIFTIETH of his claimed audience.
It’s all part of the scam.

I wondered where that two billion number came from. And isn't it funny how the MSM regurgitated it as gospel with no fact checking? The same thing happens with almost all large crowds. The media accept the organiser's estimates. In Phoenix, the Fiesta Bowl Committee claimed a crowd of 400,000 watched their parade this year. The route is 1.68 miles long, I calculated that a crowd of 400,000 would have to be 45 rows deep along both sides of the entire route for such a crowd to be there.
Then of course there is no public mass transportation to downtown Phoenix, and there is only on street parking in the area of the parade route.
The truth was that the crowd was really between 30-40,000 less than one tenth of the declared attendance, but the media just repeated the organiser's claims.
The Rose Bowl does the same thing, there is no way One Million can line that parade route and see anything. Their attendance is closer to 70,000
