Carefully vetting every single piece of user-generated content (UGC) before it’s allowed to be posted to a website is a daunting task. But China is clearly up for the challenge. The country’s so-called Cyberspace Administration has released a new policy that requires all comments on websites to be approved before they’re published. The new rules were outlined in a document published last week entitled: ‘Provisions on the Administration of Internet Thread Commenting Services’. It will mean any company or individual that runs a website where people can post comments will need to hire ‘a review and editing team suitable for...

Rep. Michael McCaul (R-Texas) on Sunday defended House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) after it was reported the Republican leader said he would advise then-President Trump to resign if he was impeached following the January 6 rioting. McCaul said on “Fox News Sunday” that it was important to put McCarthy’s comments “into the context of when it was given.”

Richard Engel, NBC News' chief foreign correspondent, told Chuck Todd on Sunday's "Meet The Press" that he doesn't believe Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy was "overly impressed" with President Biden's comments in Poland about Russian President Vladimir Putin. Engel told Todd that the "Russian military strategy is all over the place." He said the strike on Lviv, a Ukrainian city 50 miles from the Polish border, was also likely meant to be a message to Biden. "A bit of an insult to say ‘we’re going to strike right near the Polish border while you're in Poland," Engel said.

GOFFSTOWN, N.H. – Former New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie heavily criticized Donald Trump’s praise last month of Vladimir Putin when the former president called the Russian leader a "genius" and "savvy" in launching the deadly invasion of neighboring Ukraine. In a speech in New Hampshire on Monday, Christie asked "do we want to send admiring words to someone [Putin] who as we speak this morning is directing the slaughter of women and children in the Ukraine without any conscience?"

The Prime Minister had called the truckers taking part in the Freedom Convoy a 'small, fringe minority' with 'unacceptable views.' OTTAWA (LifeSiteNews) — As tens of thousands of a “small fringe minority” of truckers descend on the nation’s capital of Ottawa to protest Canada’s tyrannical so-called COVID-19 measures, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau serendipitously went into “isolation” after being exposed, he said, to “COVID.” “Last night, I learned that I have been exposed to COVID-19. My rapid test result was negative. I am following @OttawaHealth rules and isolating for five days. I feel fine and will be working from home. Stay...

Whoopi Goldberg pulled no punches Monday as she went off on comedian Bill Maher for saying he no longer wanted to live in a "paranoid world" when it came to the coronavirus pandemic. "I don’t want to live in your paranoid world anymore, your masked paranoid world. You know, you go out, it’s silly now, you know, you mask, you have to have a card, you have to have a booster, they scan your head. Like you’re a cashier, and I’m a bunch of bananas. I’m not bananas. You are," Maher told a laughing audience during his show "Real Time...

On Friday’s “Fox News Primetime,” Fox Nation host Lara Logan stated that the generals responsible for the Afghanistan debacle aren’t taking responsibility, but are holding Lt. Col. Stuart Scheller responsible by “jailing him for speaking the truth.” Logan said, “So, what they’re really doing is jailing him for speaking the truth. And I listened to the parents, and I want them to know and I want everyone in America to know that I stand 100% with their son. Because he did something that everyone in America has been waiting for for years, Brian.” She added, “And what we’re seeing now...

Gov. Andrew Cuomo — now being called on to resign over allegations of sexual harassment — apparently couldn’t help himself during a live press briefing last spring, commenting on the appearance of a female doctor in full protective gear who was administering him a coronavirus test. The unsolicited, preserved-on-video comment now stands out, with Cuomo publicly accused of sexual harassment by three women in less than a week.

Yesterday, we announced that we are closing comments at American Thinker. We immediately received a couple of hundred very unhappy, angry, and sometimes insulting emails about that decision. Without divulging why we made that decision, here are a few points to ponder.

Tuesday during the opening of his MSNBC “MTP Daily” program, Chuck Todd declared his network would not be airing remarks made by President Donald Trump earlier in the day out of fear it could be a “rallying cry for bad actors

Is there something going on now with Breitbart? Maybe its just me. Whenever I try to post a comment on a Breitbart article I get a message saying, "Hold on, this is waiting to be approved by Breitbart News Network.". I'm not posting anything that's remotely inflammatory or obscene. Anyone else here encountering the same issue?

Following Jesus means remembering Christ’s command to forgive and to pray for our enemies. It means letting go of malice and bitterness, even under fire. Even though I know better, I recently left a comment on the Facebook post for a Federalist article I saw lamenting mask mandates. I didn’t rant or get on a soapbox. All I did was express my belief that wearing masks protects others and wrote a couple of sentences pointing out the need to look out for our most vulnerable citizens. Since The Federalist is a conservative publication and I tend to lean to the...

Nearly 2,500 comments have been submitted to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) as part of an initiative launched in late July that saw the organization formally request comments on the resumption of cruising from members of the public. The request followed the extension of the CDC's "No-Sail" order barring the resumption of cruises from U.S. ports of call until at least September 30, 2020. The No-Sail order was originally put in place on March 13 as the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic swept the globe and was extended again in April for a period of 100 days. The...

Anyone else notice that Yahoo has suspend/canceled commenting on news stories? Now they can lie without being called on it.

Does anyone else visit the Yahoo homepage? They usually have a collection of top stories of the day, along with garbage and gossip, from a variety of sources, primarily liberal but with a few conservative sources thrown in. They've recently disabled the comments feature on all stories. They say it's because they're taking a survey to make the comments more user-friendly. I believe it's really because the comments are not trending the way they'd like, whether the story is from a liberal or conservative source. It's like they don't want people to know that everyone DOESN"T agree with 'protesters' or...

There seems to be a new memo out, withing the last 24 hours, to all the Leftist trolls who are assigned to harass Conservatives on the various news sites and blogs, like Newsmax, and social blogs covered by Discus. Suddenly, all the trolls are threatening that they DEMAND that the IP of every Conservative who triggers them, "threatens" them, micro-agresses the Left, be released to the DoJ, (Lord help us), so that legal action can be taken. The same DoJ that won't stop cities from being burned, but... A word to the wise. Is it for real? Hellifino. I believe it...

I live in the Pacific Northwest and I often visit and comment on https://mynorthwest.com But they recently stopped allowing people to comment on their stories. You get this message now: "MyNorthwest has disabled commenting across its websites. We are no longer able to moderate at a level that's required to maintain civil discourse. Thank you." Have other people experience the same with their local news sites?

Sasse suggested that the graduates would remember their senior years at their future reunions as “that time when China started a big global pandemic that created the worst public health crisis in over a century and brought the economy to its knees and we had to stay home and everybody was hoarding toilet paper.”

Where is the software enhancement for posting comments? I had a computer go down, and my backup does not have that enhancement installed.

Even though it’s been about a year since the last public meeting on the Interstate 49 Connector in Lafayette, the project isn’t dead, or even dormant. Louisiana Transportation Secretary Shawn Wilson told The Acadiana Advocate on Monday things are happening to move the 5-mile section of interstate toward the federal Record of Decision needed to secure funding and start construction. The ideas and plans presented at public hearings over the past two years are being worked on, he said, and the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development is drawing up a contract extension for the consultants working on the project....
