The United States hit Venezuela with a “large-scale strike” early Saturday and said President Nicolás Maduro and his wife were captured and flown out of the country after months of stepped-up pressure by Washington. President Donald Trump insisted the U.S. government would run the country at least temporarily and was already doing so.
The legal authority for the strike — and whether Trump consulted Congress beforehand — was not immediately clear. The stunning, lightning-fast American military action, which plucked a nation’s sitting leader from office, echoed the U.S. invasion of Panama that led to the surrender and seizure of its leader, Manuel Antonio Noriega, in 1990 — exactly 36 years ago Saturday.
Maduro and his wife, captured overnight from their home, were being transported via a U.S. warship to New York, where they were to face criminal charges. The U.S. is now evaluating next steps for Venezuela, Trump said Saturday on Fox News, “We’ll be involved in it very much.”

As a MAGA supporter, I agree with Ana Navarro. I believe Maduro, and especially his wife, should be tried in Venezuela, assuming there is a democratically elected regime in power, preferably headed by María Corina Machado.
Venezuelan oil should be sold on the open market, excluding those countries to which the U.S. has sanctions.
We will just have to wait and see.
Maduro is being tried for crimes against our country - such as his drug trafficking. Crimes against Venezuela will undoubtedly be tried in Venezuela - if he ever finishes his sentence here.
Minnesota Public Radio. Where else has Minnesota’s name come up in the news lately?

Hoist one for every buzz word.
Timmy and Gwen oughta be perp-walked out of their home.
Timmy’s collie is also a lawyer. Lassy come home.
Says the neomarxist mendicants who pimped Garrison Keillor when they were raking in the associated grift, and then (barely) played stupid when he was caught by the #MeToo movement trying to bump uglies (really, really uglies) with every distaff libtard that rode into town.
"In its investigation, MPR News interviewed more than 60 people who came in contact with Keillor. It found "a years-long pattern of behavior that left several women who worked for Keillor feeling mistreated, sexualized or belittled."According to MPR, in 2009, a woman Keillor was in a relationship with was given a check and asked to sign a confidentiality agreement.
The outlet also says Keillor told women he worked with that he was attracted to or aroused by them. One of them was reportedly his student while he taught at the University of Minnesota."
Fugly old cretin should be in jail and MPR atomized and scattered to the winds...
Anyone remember the opening scenes from “Airforce One?”
Trump does :)
The United Nations is always deep!y alarmed when some banana state drug running dictator is taken down. 🙄
I guess that should be Air Force One.
Public Radio and TV always use AP.
In Venezuela Maduro would probably be skinned alive.
I wonder if Mexico can be far behind?
Secretary of State Marco Rubio is hinting that Cuba could be the next target
_______________
Trump also hinted about Colombia’s Petro, who is actually bigger drug dealer than Maduro.
But, hopefully, he will be out in next election in about half a year. He is extremally unpopular, but like most lefties, he may not go out voluntarily.
I think, that Trump warning to him is “Accept the results of fair election or ...!”
As far as Cuba, that place may also collapse on itself. The communist induced poverty there is staggering!
How about the “international law” Maduro repeatedly violated by shipping literal tons of illicit drugs to the United States, with the wilfull intent to cause grave harm to America and its citizens. Do these UN cuchold asswipes consider that aspect?
I guess they can go after Trump once they finish with Putin and every other dictator who is acted under their watch.
remind us...
Trump has precedent here with the capture of Oriego.
