New Yorkers had better brace themselves for another blizzard, with 18 inches of snow forecast to sock the area.
Just as the messy mounds on street corners were finally melting and cars were all dug out, a new, massive storm system sparked a blizzard warning for Sunday and Monday, with snow expected to fall at more than 1.5 inches per hour.
“We are describing this storm as a major nor’easter,” AccuWeather senior meteorologist Carl Erickson told The Post early Saturday.“With very strong winds, near blizzard conditions, and treacherous travel conditions. And those travel conditions are going to worsen rapidly Sunday night into Monday morning.”
The blizzard warning for NYC, Long Island and New Jersey takes effect at 6 a.m. Sunday and lasts until 6 p.m. Monday.
It prompted forecasters to post images of imposing weather maps which swathed the area in purple to indicate the strength of the storm.
Blizzard warnings are only issued when 13 to 18 inches of snow is expected and winds of 55 mph are predicted.

Maybe it will take Mayor Incompetent 2 weeks this time to get the streets cleared and the garbage picked up.
By the time April rolls around, the “experts” will have forgotten this winter and will go back to fear-mongering about rising seas and global warming.
Blizzard conditions along the Chesapeake.
Here in Connecticut, we have already spent more than $100K on storm expenses, completely blowing our budget. We had to send a truck to New York to get a truckload of salt, at twice the usual price. I just approved an invoice for 8 men shoveling for 8 days, besides our overtime for our own regular employees.
18"? At a time when weather forecasts are routinely overstated (my observation, correction invited) I'll wager the average depth is significantly less.
The trick with any weather event is to plan way ahead, have emergency supplies, needed medications, and food stocks on hand, and plans on what to do when the power goes.
Is the warmth of socialism going to be extended to the homeless again?
Drifting due to winds makes things worse.
On the bright side, the mounds of trash will look pretty. For a little while.
Nothing to worry about...Mamdani has everything under control. He has asked everyone who voted for him to bring a snow shovel to Times Square Monday morning and they will dig out from there.
God most definitely does have a sense of humor!
LOL- NYChitty has not shoveled out from the last storm a month ago...
Are you a government official?
Don’t start any blasphemous rumors.
I guess Mamdani is not in Uganda any more.
Lol.
Here we go again.
Fortunately, I’ve got all my supplies from last month’s Weather Event; and my HVAC is finally fixed.
No worries. Mayor’s gonna handle it.
Impossible, we’re into global warming.
