Anyone else notice that Yahoo has suspend/canceled commenting on news stories? Now they can lie without being called on it.

I look for other msm sites to do the same in order to advance propaganda against Trump before the election.

Yep...I noticed that over the past few days. I used to comment, and now you can’t at all.

I’ve noticed that on Yahoo the feedback is usually 95% against liberals. I wouldn’t be surprised if they dropped comments. Sites like the Daily Beast dropped comments a long time ago, for the same reason. Too much derision of their slanted garbage stories.

Every (fake)liberal news outlet did this years ago. They can’t handle any opposition to the propaganda they publish.

Forgot to mention that I got banned for life from Daily Mail.uk last year. They must be pretty desperate to ban a 72 year old woman. I’ve been here for over 20 years without interruption. They sure do hate the truth. Daily Mail would remove my comments based on historical facts, just because some snowflake complained. I never used profanity, threats, racial slurs, or anything not allowed. And they never gave me a reason why I got banned.

NJ.com/Star Ledger banned comments a few months ago. I stopped visiting the site.

Our goal is to create a safe and engaging place for users to connect over interests and passions. In order to improve our community experience, we are temporarily suspending article commenting. In the meantime, we welcome your feedback to help us enhance the experience.

I don’t know why a news site would need a comments section to start with - maybe as a draw to get eyes on a page & hoping for ads getting clicked, I guess.
Comments are a royal PITA to deal with; on a news site I can see where something like “Letters to the editor” has a place, though.

I had noticed this also and was not surprised since the comments were overwhelmingly negative on the articles.

I would not read the articles since they were the all too predictable collection of lies and Marxist/totalitairan propaganda. However I would read the comments and was reassured at how many people refused to swallow their BS.

So now I don’t waste my time reading anything coming from Yahoo news, including the headlines.

“They are seeking input...”

It would be funny if you hit the “submit” button and it replies “Stop that! We told you we’re not taking comments at this time!”.

Yeah that happened a few days ago, I think they initially claimed it was for maintenance and improvement. Of course, they are likely gone forever.

It was actually quite fun to see the articles, not to read them, and head toward the comments. Almost every story is poorly written, contains no pertinent facts or is biased to the left. Most comments ripped the story apart.

The Federalist has also ended its comment section.

The other thing is they are all going behind paywalls, so the only people reading them are those who like to get their liberal propaganda injection every day and to pay for that. But they are really not reaching any other audience.

Exeption is NYT and WaPo since even if not that many people read them directly, all through the country local papers pay them to reprint the propaganda in the local rags.

I filed a survey! Basically called them ‘cowards’ in the comments section.

When you’re “news stories” are already thin on content it’s a good way to add entertainment value. Except they aren’t about entertaining anymore. They driven conservatives off social media, so that outlet is closed off. Now all the online news outlets are following suit. Add in the “Do as your told” attitude of Democrat Pandemic Governors and things are getting pretty ugly, Constitutionally-speaking.

As I mentioned the other day when somebody brought this up - I used to post on the Yahoo message boards back when Yahoo still had them. That could be interesting sometimes.

No portal site such as Yahoo or Google (and the like) has been able to come up with a “holistic” user experience for users - open email, forums, clubs/special interest groups/general social media contacting/news & user commentary.

Facebook is a walled in site so it doesn’t count, akin to the old AOL -which did provide an excellent comprehensive experience with it’s confines.
Hmmm, now where did I put that AOL 4.0 CD....

I've had Yahoo as my homepage for many years. Yhey have been driving me up the wall with their constant articles about celebrities. What they think, how they dress, what childhood abuse they suffered, which 3rd country child they are adopting, their political views, etc.

I would like a homepage to get a quick synopsis of the news of the day and finance. Up until recently, I also wanted a quick blurb about sports, but that too is falling by the wayside.
