I’ve just started experimenting with drinking it myself actually. So far I’ve tasted one in a glass bottle that didn’t have sugar listed as an ingredient, and that was way too tart. Another in a glass bottle was Pink Lady Apple flavored (got great reviews, got it at Target), and it was tasty, very much like a fizzy tart apple cider. I found both of those at Sprouts. But by far, so far, my two favorites are available at Publix, and come in cans. My favorite is by a company called Mortal Kombucha and the flavor is peach, and tastes like a very lightly sweet peach soda and has less than 50 calories. My second favorite is by a company called Hummmm and the only flavor (of the many of theirs) that ive tried (and keep buying) is a lemon one with a unicorn on it, that tastes almost like a lemon cupcake but fizzy and again, very faintly sweet. And again, about 40 calories. They’re good ones to start with, I think, because they’re milder than the others I’ve tried, and then depending on how you like them, get as adventurous as you wish for the purer less sweetened ones. They really are readily available though.

Desantis disgusts me more with every day, and at this point I can’t even look at or listen to him anymore - and I used to daydream about a Trump/Desantis ticket. Not anymore.

That is true, and it is unfathomably evil. However, those babies have not become a beloved child, a cherished member of a family, because their mothers chose not to give them that chance. But to do the same horrors or worse to someone else’s precious child/grandchild/sibling/niece or nephew, and especially to force them to watch it happen or to kill the parents in front of the child first, and to film it all for further gloating and enjoyment, is beyond all comprehension. I submit that these acts of evil potentially surpass even the level of evil inflicted on humanity by Hitler and the Nazis. In fact, these terrorist agencies essentially are Nazis, just middle eastern Muslim ones.

I homeschooled my two through high school. They have both graduated from university now so it’s been a little while, but for us, we set goals as a framework and then went with the flow, because if you aren’t flexible, there’s a lot of stress and tears some days! We set weekly goals, and they attended a hybrid school two days a week, plus extra math or music classes at times. Some days, they were enthusiastic and got lots done in just a few hours, possibly finishing a weeks worth of their favorite subjects in a day. Other days, they were exhausted, burnt out, goofy, or whatever - so after a while I’d have mercy on them and let them have the rest of the day off.
That being said, flexibility also meant that they did lessons on beaches, in hotel rooms, or wherever we wanted to be as a family because we had the freedom to travel when the crowds were thinner, which was awesome. Also, I kept them doing light math practice and reading books all summer, to keep their skills sharp - so they schooled all year, just sometimes with fewer hours and subjects.
When they got to high school, they were pretty independent at getting their work done, which helped them greatly in college because they were already used to managing their time and work.
We kept binders with grades and samples of their work throughout, and also administered standardized grade level tests every year to ensure that they stayed at or above grade level, as well. When they got to high school, they were allowed to choose what sciences, languages, and electives they wanted to study as long as they met the state’s graduation requirements. For instance, my daughter chose forensics for senior year science.
I wouldn’t have missed homeschooling them for the world, best thing I ever did besides marrying their dad!

Cancel culture is literally trying to “cancel” (i.e. eliminate) a person, product, business, viewpoint, group, organization, etc. The goal is to completely ruin the target so that it no longer exists for anyone, anywhere.

Boycotts just mean a consumer is choosing to spend their time and/or dollars elsewhere - it’s a personal decision to support, or not support, the target entity, regardless of whether or not it continues to exist and be enjoyed by other people.

Example: MAGA has largely boycotted FOX because of their various bad decisions since 2020. We now get our news from more trustworthy outlets, and FOX is a non issue to us (aside from a lot of schadenfreude).
The left, on the other hand, has openly called for years for FOX to be removed from the air altogether, because they have dared to allow non-leftist points of view to be publicly presented, and allowed leftist positions to be picked apart and proven wrong on air.

I will never bother to waste my time voting for the RNC-approved candidate again, including the 2024 presidential election. I won’t vote federal at all, just local, and I’m not kidding or blowing smoke. Uni party is uni party and we would get the same BS we’re getting now but we’d be blamed for it, (if they even “let” us have a win, which is doubtful at this point).

I’m this close to being completely done with politics at all at this point, because it is becoming increasingly clear that our “votes” are not real, they’re an illusion, just busy work they give us to distract us and keep us placid by making us *think* we have a representative republic. We apparently do not. We have a mullet country - “Land of the Free” on the outside, Marxist oligarchy on the inside. Like China but with lipstick. #OnlyTrump2024

Now if they really want to do math, she can now subtract the amount of money paid to black people by the government for welfare and entitlements and EBT cards, free college tuitions for black students, free abortions (mostly black mothers), prisons/jails/housing/food/personnel for the black people who have committed the vast majority of crimes over the decades, repair and monetary losses of capital due to rioting and looting over the decades by black people, etc.

Deduct all of that which has already been paid into the black population over the past 150 years, then whatever is left, find the ancestors of the handful of people (relative to the general population) who actually owned slaves, and divvy the reparations debt among them, because the vast majority of American citizens came here within the past two generations from other countries and had nothing to do with any of it, so that’s just a non-starter right there.

If we follow his line of reasoning, the vast majority of DC democrats need to leave office immediately and be disallowed from being on any ballots, for their constant declarations about the 2016 election being “illegitimate” because of “Russian interference”, especially since that claim has actually been verified to be false (after we paid 40 million dollars for a multi-year fishing expedition). These people are unbearable hypocrites and don’t care how obvious they are about it.

Haven’t been there in a few years but our absolute favorite place in that area is an experience as well as a meal! Loads of fun, even the kids have never stopped talking about it and we all would love to return someday. It’s called Lamberts Throwed Rolls, and the food is delicious and generous, but the best fun is the waitstaff and their unique ways of serving up hospitality. As you might have guessed, you need to get your paws in the air to catch your large and delicious dinner rolls, as the staff hauls them to you, for example! Great atmosphere and people. Sometimes quite a wait to get in though, fair warning!

Another recommendation for DuoLingo from me! I studied Spanish for 6 years in HS and college plus have Spanish speaking family members so I grew up with it (but we rarely speak it). I am also Italian (grandfather) but he never taught us Italian because he said we’re American now, but I always wanted to learn. I have spent the past 1 3/4 years learning it with Duolingo. I can now read and write it, can speak it, albeit slowly, and can understand it also when spoken clearly and relatively slowly - but even with all of my Spanish education and real life experience, I’d rate my speak/understand Spanish pretty much equally with my Italian which is much newer! I do use the premium feature.

I’ve completed the Italian course and have moved on to reading books in Italian and listening to Italian radio (Duolingo has links).And I’m now about 10 chapters into learning French! Oh and BTW, the more I practice the Italian, the more I think in both languages, but less so if I slack off for a few days. It’s the lilt of a true Italian native that is the most difficult to catch on to because the app speaks very precisely but that’s not real life! Working on that now.

The people who rioted at the Capitol may have gone overboard (although I believe most of the violence was initiated by hired government thugs/Antifa/FBI), but every angry Trump supporter in the entire country is and has been entirely justified in their anger and frustration - and even more do now that the usurper and his “administration “ have taken a wrecking ball to not only our own beloved country but to multiple other nations as well.

Any intellectually honest human on earth knows the basement dummy did not get “the most votes in all of history”, or lose 17 out of 18 bellwethers plus FL and OH and still “won”. That’s as insane as “wet market bat flu”, “Epstein killed himself”, “Hunters laptop is Russian information “, “pee tapes”, and “the vaccines keep you from getting COVID”. Every single one of those is straight up gaslighting and we’re fed up with it.

So first of all, we know that even before he won in 2016, they were falsifying “Russian collusion” dossiers against him and offering Steele a million dollars to verify the lies, then continued the lies and persecution for the next four years, Comey, Mueller, COVID, J6 false flag, and a color revolution to take him out of office, and they’re still trying to keep him from running again in 2024, but they want us to believe that at the same time, they were trying to “help” him?????

And second of all, if “Antifa doesn’t exist”, then they are essentially blaming BLM for ALL of the two billion dollars worth of rioting, looting, murders, arson, and general destruction that went on for over a year, including the white liberal BLM members who created their own “nation” in what was it, Portland? And we’re out there in force for many months spitting in policemen’s faces, throwing bricks at anyone wearing a red hat, etc.

How stupid do they think we are? And how angry will BLM be when they finally work out that they are being blamed for all the crap that white professors and lawyers in “black block” did?

Same here. I’ve been feeling it for weeks (as much as I’ve liked and admired his work as governor), especially since the GOPe has started making sounds about what a great guy he is. I’m starting to smell a rat, and I don’t trust any of them. Kari Lake, in the other hand, I’m really liking, and thinking she’d be a great choice for VP!

Ironically, I just spent the past hour and a half reading this article and then the thread on Twitter that the article links to, specifically about creepy/strange/odd things people’s kids have said when they were little. I guess ‘tis the season for such things! Reading regular people’s stories was a fascinating rabbit hole to go down!

Too unsettling. I grew up in Stony Brook and it was as safe and idyllic as I can ever imagine a town being. Kids walked and rode bikes everywhere and went to the beach all day together in the summer, we always felt completely safe, it was like Mayberry but with water and a university. We also hung out in Port Jefferson and Setauket and it just felt like you were at home wherever we went. Really a perfect childhood! Haven’t been back in over 20 years and in my mind it’s still wonderful, makes me sad to hear that the reality is much different. I guess the old adage “You can’t go home again” is sadly true.

Violence is a nonstarter, that’s exactly what they want. They’re trying like hell to goad us into behaving the way their demented goons do (sanctioned by the Swamp) so they can “prove” that the Red Screed was justified and MAGA people are “insurrectionists”, possibly even getting them pulled off of ballots across the country, “for the safety of democracy”. No, we need to organize the hugest Election Day surge of MAGA voters in history, to change the makeup of DC. Then let them run investigations and impeachments for the next two years, while President Trump appeals his case right up to the Supreme Court and gets this abusive persecution stopped and the abusers restrained or removed from their positions. And then, in 2024, we vote Trump in regardless of what they do, even if it means a write in campaign. They must not be allowed to continue taking away the decision making and the power away from We The People, the Constitution doesn’t say “let the deep state decide every office holder and persecute and imprison everyone who disagrees with them”. That’s the very kind of abuse of power they came here to get away from.
