Donald Trump has surged to a 36.1 percent lead over Ron DeSantis as Republican voters' preferred candidate for the 2024 presidential election, according to the latest data from the political analysis website Real Clear Politics.
The data shows 56 percent of Republicans have Trump as their favored candidate, well ahead of DeSantis at 19.9 percent and former Vice President Mike Pence at 5.9 percent.
If Trump wins the Republican nomination, polling shows he is likely to face President Biden, who has announced he will run for reelection in 2024 for a rematch of the heated 2020 presidential contest.
The latest Real Clear Politics polls update was released on Wednesday, based on data from the seven most recent opinion surveys recorded by the website, including those by Rasmussen, Emerson and Fox News.
It gave Trump a 36.1 percent lead over Florida Governor DeSantis, and a 50.1 percent advantage over Pence, though neither of the possible challengers has officially declared their candidacy. Other candidates, such as former South Carolina Governor and United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, and businessman Vivek Ramaswamy, are languishing far behind with the support of less than five percent of Republican voters. The surveys the data is based on were all conducted between April 21 and May 15, by a number of different pollsters.
Trump substantially increased his polling lead in April and May, according to the Real Clear Politics data. Two months ago, on March 17, Trump was polling at 43.9 percent, versus 28 percent for DeSantis, giving him an advantage of 15.9 percent.
. .
Over the past few months, Trump had become fiercely critical of DeSantis, telling reporters the future Florida governor was politically "dead as a doornail" before receiving his endorsement.

Yuge amount, as of today.
RdS is betting on the Uniparty/Soros kangaroo courts. RdS knows he has zero chance unless the DC criminals rob Trump AGAIN. If RdS craps out on his Uniparty/Soros bet, how much of that unspent Uniparty cash he’s been collecting can he take home to Florida?
Trump is addressing the most important issues for me, which are his opinions on Fox news, Laura Ingram and E. Jean Carroll!!
This just proves that the Democrats want Trump because they know FJB can beat him... or something.
Newsweek pushing Trump is hilarious.
I know who they and the other liberal pollsters are really afraid of, and it ain’t Trump.
Does Trump think he can be Kamala Harris?
That’s why all politicians deal in unmarked, nonsequential, small bills as payoffs. Bitcoins would shine a spotlight in their faces.
With his unlimited tanning booth access, who can say?
And he can quickly change his hair color, too.
As the Cuban relative of Desi asked Lucy “Where’d you get that red hair?”
Lucy: “From the drugstore shelf every couple of weeks. Uh, I mean....”
Your savior will be in court dealing with a hooker when the primaries are in full swing.
Good choice.
DeSantis and his supporters, as well as the other GOP candidates know the upcoming timetable.
The Special Prosecutor is likely to indict Trump this fall on charges of mishandling secret documents and for an insurrection plot that culminated on January 6. Will they go all the way with an early morning swat team raid on Mar a Lago, dragging Trump out in handcuffs in front of the tipped off media?
Trump will likely be unjustly convicted in his March 2024 hush money trial in New York. Will New York imprison him while he appeals or will they stay the jail sentence pending appeal? For maximum effect they’ll put him in jail, effectively making it impossible to campaign.
The federal trial will likely take place in the summer of 2024 or early fall to completely disrupt the campaign season after nomination.. Timing will allow a conviction in a DC court just before the voters go to the polls.
Assuming this is the plan, everyone in Washington as well as the other candidates know it. At some point the RNC will meet and declare Trump inelegible to run as the GOP candidate, particularly if he is convicted in the March 2024 trial in NY. This is why other candidates are in the race. They expect the party to deny Trump the nomination and they are positioning themselves for the free for all that will take place as soon as Trump is out.
They gloss over this like it’s not a big deal, as if photos of Trump phone banking from jail is going to persuade more voters than turn away. All of this for a chance at more vaccine pitches, bump stock bans and unfinished border walls.
As if DeSantis has any chance of winning a general. He’s planning on announcing with that dimwitted conman Elon Musk tomorrow of all things.
And the other “savior,” DeSanctimonius, will be announcing his presidential bid with known pathological liar and con-man, Elon Musk, and his bitch-boy David Sacks, the latter of whom is currently spamming on twitter day in and day out Pro-Russian propaganda of such an idiotic level that even the retarded Putinists on this website would blush.
No Republican will ever win an election again if that happens. You heard it here, well, not first. For the several thousandth time.
You can't fix RNC fags.
That’s not a bad theory, but I wouldn’t put it past the communists to wait until after the convention to put him behind bars which would prevent the GOP from substituting a new candidate. There is some danger in waiting that long in that voters will see it as clear election tampering by partisan DA’s, but I think the safe money is on it damaging Trump more than helping him.
DeSantis is being willingly used by the deep state to make sure a Republican does not win in 2024. Its not going to work to his everlasting sorrow and I have zero sympathy for him. He’s making his bed let him lay in it.
Hold that thought. Check back with me next spring when DeSantis withdraws from the race, having won at most, 2 or 3 state primaries.
At some point, if the left and swamp GOPe continue to use lawfare against Trump and the right, it'll be obvious that there is no use having any further belief in the judicial system or any sense in following laws any more.
