I need help. My computer just died on me, and I need to build a new one fast, but I need advice on which motherboard to buy. I want to get one of the nvidia nforce motherboards, but beyond that I'm having problems. I'm either going to use my old processor (Athlon 1700) or this one, and I'm not sure what will be compatible. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

GENEVA (Reuters) - A United Nations (news - web sites) anti-torture body criticized Britain on Friday for the "unsatisfactory" conditions in its prisons, including a "substantial number of deaths in custody," and urged it to act at once to improve them. The U.N. Committee Against Torture, reviewing British compliance with an international treaty outlawing inhuman and degrading treatment, also expressed concern at parts of an anti-terrorism law which allows "potentially indefinite detention" of foreigners without trial.

If there's one country that stands out as the next likely target in the war on terror, it's Iran. It's one of the original Axis of Evil countries, it's been sending thugs to Iraq to stir things up, and it was named as a threat by the 9-11 commission. That makes this behavior seem just a bit unwise.
  • John Kerry's Secret Records (freeper cartoon)

John Kerry has been running on his military record for thirty-plus years now. Interestingly enough, he refuses to allow the release of his actual military records (or his medical records, which are important because of questions about his purple hearts). Now, I'm not saying that John Kerry has lost his privacy rights completely, but this is a situation of his own making. He has brought up his military record at every possible opportunity, often inventing opportunities (and elements of his record, for that matter). Is it really unreasonable to want to see what his actual records have to say?
  • Christmas in Cambodia (Freeper Cartoon)

Much to my surprise, one of Kerry's lies is actually being reported on. Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is having more of an impact than Kerry would have liked. Naturally, Kerry has been vague and evasive about answering this charge. The current strategy seems to be saying that he was just confused about the date (apparently there is some confusion in the Kerry camp as to when Christmas occurs), and that he was near Cambodia during Christmas. Or maybe they were in Cambodia during Christmas after all. They're not completely sure, actually.

The polls are in. Although the numbers vary, the overall consensus is that there was no bounce for Kerry, with a possible loss. This is very bad news for Kerry, no matter how you spin it (and spin it they will).

It's kind of hard to accidentally stuff classified documents down your pants. Of course, it's also kind of hard to not know what the meaning of the word 'is' is. While the Kerry campaign is good for some nice gaffes ever now and then, they just can't match the imagination of ol' Bill's cronies. He and his administration are still causing trouble somehow. From having one of his ex-staffers covering for him on the 9-11 commission to Sandy Berger's pants-stuffing feat, the Clinton administration is still going strong in the scandal department.

I'm trying to get a topic to appear under the Political Humor/Cartoons section, but even though I put that in as the thread's topic, it won't appear when I click on the Political Humor/Cartoons link. How do I get it there? Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?
  • John Kerry/Edwards Cartoon

Back during the primaries, John Edwards saw two Americas. Now he's the running mate for the richest man in the Senate. This is, of course, typical. John Edwards himself is worth quite a lot, but at least he got it by suing doctors instead of just marrying into it like Kerry.

There has been some discussion as to whether or not Saddam can get a fair trial. I think it's a rather silly question myself, since the trial is a formality at this point. It's one of those things that we're doing just because it has the appearance of being more legitimate than just hanging him right away. There's probably more to it, such as using it as a way to show the world what Saddam has done, but the one purpose that this trial doesn't serve is making a real decision on whether or not he's actually guilty. If...

I wasn't going to do a cartoon on this. Everyone else was already doing them, so I would rather have done one on something else that Kerry had done. Problem is, all of the news is about Clinton. Ironic, no?If you like this cartoon, visit my blog, where I post them all, and leave a comment or two so that I you've been there.

Alright, this is my third shot at posting this. Apparently, Angelfire and Freewebspace have both decided to disallow hotlinking at the same time. Go figure. This is the second cartoon I've posted here. I've got one about Air America ready, but I'm waiting for some fresh news about them to come out to post it.
