You are old if you can remember when CNN had news, MTV had music, and the Weather channel had weather. Instead of left wing propaganda, left wing propaganda, and globalist propaganda.

CNN is on its last legs and MTV just announced they will cease to exist on 31 Dec 2025.

I'm not sure about the Weather channel but I never watch it either.

I’d be willing to pay $70/year to not have to listen to CNN every time I walk through an airport...

They used to pay the airports to have CNN on. In most cases they even paid for the TV equipment. This was their attempt to boost their ratings.

A few years ago they were losing so much money they stopped their airport program. If an airport has CNN on they are doing out of their own liberalism and stupidity.

And Virginians still vote for her. God help America!

Well, Loudoun County, Fairfax County, Prince William County, and now possibly my county of Stafford, have enough illegals and fake ballots to swing Virginia. Richmond and Norfolk area will also do their illegal part to help the Left.

The evangullibles thought Pence was a great choice. Boy, it’s funny how things turn out. What a nasty poser Pence turned out to be.

You don't have to put Christians down. Everybody was/has been smoked by the Swamp. Pence was a fake Christian and a fake Conservative. He is just another member of the evil, traitorous, Swamp.

One of the fastest ways to make a quick decision whether or not a politician, at least a male politician, is just a self centered narcissist in it for himself is to look at his hair and suits. If he looks like he is trying to get on the cover of GQ magazine then there is a 99% chance he is just another worm.

TWELVE, and already looked like a grown woman - I’m sure her clothing of choice didn’t help.

I have a cousin who had a "G-Cup" while she was still in junior high school. She looked like she was over 21, but at least she did try to keep them covered up appropriately.

When she was in her 20s she was up to an "H-Cup" and had reduction surgery. She was so much happier and did look a lot nicer after the surgery.

When I was in middle and high school, it was quite common for teachers (and, in high school, a very large janitor) to break up fights and restrain violent students. Standard operating procedure then, I guess it’s grounds for a law suit now - especially if the restrained party is an “oppressed minority”.

Back in 1969 I was in sixth grade and the two classes were combined due to construction in our school building. I was 11 years old at the time.

There was a 14 year old minority kid who had been held back three times and was a trouble maker. He started lipping off at the teachers and one of them walked over to his seat and told him to go the to school office. The kid refused and the teacher tried to grab the kid's arm to get him out of his seat. The kid shrugged the teacher off, stood up a tried to punch the teacher, but only landed a glancing blow to the teachers chest.

The teacher grabbed the kid by the front of his shirt at the collar and slammed him into the brick wall and the kid went down like a ton of bricks, out cold. The teacher then grab the kid's foot and dragged him out of the class and all the way to the Principal's office. That kid was gone for the rest of the year.

By the rules, the kid was too old to be in grade school so we saw him in junior high, seventh grade, the next year. He was at the welcome speech in the auditorium then as we left the two Vice Principals along with the Principal met him outside of the auditorium and led him away. We never saw him again. I miss the old days.

I actually plodded through the three Rama sequels to Clarke's Rendezvous with Rama. Each sequel worse than the last.

I was a teenager when I read, and loved, Rendezvous but I never read the others. I was a big Clarke, Heinlein, Asimov fan back then.

Last week one of the conservative news sites (maybe Breitbart?) finished a seven-part series about the state of book publishing which was written by a youngish female author.

One of her points was the lack of reading and book purchases was due to the publishing industry only printing DEI garbage and ignoring so many great, upcoming, authors. She also excoriated the awards as leaving out any book that wasn’t leftist blather.

I have to agree with her. The few remaining books stores keep the conservative items hidden and stores like Sam’s and Costco, where I could always find at least one good book, now place worthless garbage on the tables, forcing me to order online.

The reason is simple: hamas abused the hostages so badly before they died that they can’t let the Israelis see the damage.

Yep. Unless I am wrong all the live hostages and the bodies that were returned were male. They do not want to return the bodies of females because an autopsy would reveal the torture and rapes they committed on those poor women.

When I was in, a long time ago, junior enlisted personnel literally lived paycheck to paycheck, and even one day's delay could mean that their families went hungry.

I joined the Air Force after high school in 1976. Our Base Pay was less than $400/Mo and even though I was single the taxes gave me very little to spend. I knew folks who were married and life was pretty hard for them.

Many years ago, after my Commissioning, my wife had a job as a Loan Officer at the base credit union. She was always heartbroken when Airmen, or their wives, came in to try to close out their accounts so they could have that $5 to buy food or diapers. My wife had great relation with the base Airman's Attic and would find ways to help them consolidate their debts then she would call the Airman's Attic folks, as well as the WIC people, who gladly would show up to help my wife get those wonderful folks the help they needed to survive.

After I took charge of over 100 missile maintenance troops both my wife and I doubled our efforts to keep all Airmen, especially the maintenance troops, solvent and fed. My men worked directly on the Minuteman III ICBMs and the nuclear weapons that were attached on top. I, we, could not afford to have my men thinking about their possibly starving family while out at the Launch Facilities turning wrenches on a weapon system with three reentry vehicles each with 360Kt yields. I needed my men focused and out there with the knowledge their families were not going hungry and that their leadership cared about them rather than their next promotion.

I visited northern Virginia ten years ago and saw the clogged interstate leading to Washington. I think the highway was six or eight lanes and it was awash in traffic two hours in the morning and, in reverse, two hours in the afternoon; a solid mass for 50 miles.

I was stationed here in 1992 and decided to retire instead of taking a promotion and another move. Due to my weapons work there are few places to live where I could do what I loved.

My wife used to be Active Duty but became a govvie and worked creating certain things that were used directly by our warfighters. She worked north of DC so she had a 64 mile drive, one way, through downtown DC, to get to her Agency. This year was her 30th so she was retiring anyway. Since she was one of the few government employees that worked her rear end off her bosses kept trying to bribe her to stay.

The traffic here is horrid and you are correct about the wealth. It truly is disgusting. Our county was rural and inexpensive when we got here but around 2000 all the liberals saw how great our schools were and the low taxes and home prices so they moved on down. We are now the 18th or 19th wealthiest county in the USA and there are too many people as well as the libs have now made our taxes obscene. I wish we could dismantle all the reasons there is so much wealth around DC. It is a sign of corruption. I'm not jealous, we've done well, including me deciding to do pure civilian work years ago, I just want the theft of citizens paychecks to stop.

We are leaving for my old home in the north woods next month.

A talking head on Fox said there were 300,000 federal workers living in Virginia.
Cut about 75 percent of them, pause, and see if more cuts are needed.

Virginia, DC, and Maryland. Cut them, hard.p> We live in Virginia and directly see the laziness and waste every day.

At least 70% of the Government work force could be cut and all the garbage programs thrown out while the needed programs could be streamlined. Due to so many worthless do-nothing jobs made to pad the Dem voter base so much process and paperwork can be totally eliminated without any effect on the operation of needed programs. It could massively reduced the cost of bureaucratic overhead.

I don’t understand this either. The House bill passes with a simple majority,

The Senate runs under different rules. Each chamber sets their rules and the Senate filibuster has been around for what seems like eternity. A senator can talk for as long as they want. There are to many Representatives in the House so there are limits to their speaking time.

The real problem is the filibuster used to mean a Senator had to stand up and really talk (like Mr. Smith Goes to Washington) but they became lazy so now they just consider anything like this type of bill to be under filibuster by default and it needs the 60 votes.

They are now so lazy they do this so they can goof off instead of earning their salaries.

Because young black men are a scourge on the face of the earth and America.
I wish it were not so. Just imagine how amazing America would be if 99% of young black men were hard working and studied and got good grades, got jobs, avoided crime, did not engage in fights, didn’t turn to gangs and drugs, etc. We would be the model of civilization everywhere.

It is sad. My best friend from the time we were six years old is black. He retired as a senior engineer from a major US corporation.

The only problems we ever had were from other black kids who hated the fact we were best friends. They also hated my friend individually because he was the second smartest kid in school. They called him Oreo and other epithets and several times tried to catch us after school to beat the crud out of us. They never succeeded due to their stupidity but it goes to show their culture is one of laziness and destruction.

Having never worked with classified material, is there a “reason sheet” attached which explains the status?

Not only was I involved with TS and above since I was 18 years old. Also, I, and two of my people, spent over three years working out of the National Archives as the POC for all classification review of special weapons documents. There is no "reason sheet" but there could be a printed item listing the classification document used to make that document classified at a certain level.

The bad thing is it is considered classified to reveal any location where the special weapons are located, so, to keep things out of the reach of anybody, they will preface documents with a description of the location where the document is being created and that the location stores special weapons. Simple things like the Commissary inspection reports, minor personnel forms, almost everything, had a mention of special weapons storage locations so as only a few people were ever allowed to see the report.

I personally know one very recent college graduate in computer science that found a great paying job in her field before she even graduated.

There is a university near us that still boasts 99% of their seniors in engineering and computer sciences have a job before they graduate.

My son was a dual major (EE and Computer Engineering) and was hired in the December of his senior year. I know three more young gentlemen who went through the same program and had the same results. The jobs are out there if the kids research. I know many companies around here are reluctant to hire from places like Berkley.
