ROCKINGHAM, Va. — Two police officers were fatally shot during an ‘active shooter’ incident at Bridgewater College in Virginia Tuesday afternoon. A shelter in place was ordered on campus for hours. The college first tweeted about the incident at at 1:24 p.m. — “Reports of active shooter on campus. Shelter in place.”

According to a separate statement issued by the private liberal arts college, at approximately 1: 20 p.m. officers from several departments – including the Virginia State Police, Bridgewater College police, and the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office – responded to a report of an active shooter at the school. They were notified that two officers had been shot, and the armed suspect had fled the premises. Students and staff were alerted of the situation and were forced to shelter in place. The Republican primary in next year's Pennsylvania Senate race may get more interesting, with Politico reporting that Republican leaders in the state are pressing the hedge fund CEO and Army veteran David McCormick to jump into the race. McCormick, a Pennsylvania native, is the CEO of the Connecticut-based hedge fund behemoth Bridgewater Associates. The West Point graduate and retired Army Ranger went on to serve as CEO of the Pittsburgh-based software company FreeMarkets before selling it in 2004. After a stint in the George W. Bush administration, McCormick took the helm of Bridgewater Associates in 2019.

The son of the owner of the world’s largest hedge fund died Thursday after he crashed his car into a Verizon store in Greenwich, Conn., authorities said. Devon Dalio, 42, was the son of Raymond Dalio, 71, the billionaire founder of Bridgewater Associates, a hedge fund he founded in 1975. Dalio’s Audi crashed into the Verizon store at a shopping center Thursday afternoon and burst into flames. Police are still investigating the cause of the crash which almost destroyed the store, according to the Associated Press.

BRIDGEWATER, MASS. (WHDH) - An East Bridgewater man accused of pulling a gun on another man for not wearing a mask into a pharmacy in Bridgewater is now facing charges. Todd Goulston, 59, had been inside the store when he noticed the 30-year-old Abington man not wearing a mask and according to police, the argument escalated to Goulston pulling a gun out of his car and pointing it at the victim.

BRIDGEWATER (CBS) – An inmate at a Bridgewater prison is being charged with threatening to kill President Barack Obama in a “lone-wolf style” attack.
