The Republican primary in next year's Pennsylvania Senate race may get more interesting, with Politico reporting that Republican leaders in the state are pressing the hedge fund CEO and Army veteran David McCormick to jump into the race.

McCormick, a Pennsylvania native, is the CEO of the Connecticut-based hedge fund behemoth Bridgewater Associates. The West Point graduate and retired Army Ranger went on to serve as CEO of the Pittsburgh-based software company FreeMarkets before selling it in 2004. After a stint in the George W. Bush administration, McCormick took the helm of Bridgewater Associates in 2019.

Trump-endorsed Sean Parnell is just too icky.

So they're trying to recruit a nice, comfortable former Bush administration official.

Essentially a Pennsylvania Rob Portman (though he lives in Connecticut).

Also keep in mind that though Toomey has joined their club, they didn’t want him either, for HE was too icky.

They liked Arlen Specter’s liberal republicanism (he became a democrat of course).

Hedge fund manager?

No thanks. That’s right down there with lawyers and bankers.

hedge fund CEO

Not good for optics in the practical sense regardless of whether or not he's squeaky clean.

Ridiculous.

There are more than ten million Trump supporters who would be willing to send at least $1.00 to Sean Parnell for his campaign coffers immediately. That would clear the field right away if $10 million was reported raised in his primary account.

The Dems can do this with their “money bomb” networks overnight...why Republicans been unable to duplicate this sort of thing is beyond me.

Look at from the point of view of the party. It has to go to war against the people with the army that it has.

They better find someone with some political experience if they plan to run against Conor Lamb. He has big donors in and around the Pittsburgh area. Not counting the veterans groups that he’s been $upporting with legi$lation.

Lamb is a pretty boy(those things count). His ‘moderation’ went right along with Pelosi’s votes. Won’t matter. If this guy has ‘it’ we follow him. If he’s in the mold of JD Vance/Masters(Az.) it might be the future of the GOP.

this is what they are worried about:

They aren't worried about it, establishment donors support wife beaters, kid diddlers, turncoats and war criminals all the time.

They are using it as an excuse to sabotage his candidacy, because he isn't already in their pocket. It will work if we let them.

Is Parnell the guy whose wife said that he hit her and their child(ren)? I thought the timing of that claim was suspect.

Let me be more specific. Lawyers in this case is what I refer to as lawyerticians or lawyers who become politicians. Bankers refers to the families who have run the Central Banks for generations.

Then Hedge Managers; Bernie Madoff. Bookies. Salesmen. Yeah.

We met Kathy Barnette at the Tea Party several times & think she’d be a good Senator.
