An off-the-charts Super El Niño that’s expected to peak this winter could be oddly good for New York City — while other parts of the US may be slammed by storms and flooding, forecasters said Thursday. The “behemoth” weather system — measured by sea surface temperatures — could rise to more than six times that of a typical El Niño between November and January, according to the World Meteorological Organization. “This is literally off the monitoring charts that we have used for the past four decades,” Celeste Saulo, secretary of the WMO, said Wednesday. In the Big Apple, it could...

DEAR FRIENDS, Some of you have asked me for more information about Sister Paola Mezzetti, who passed away on March 18, 2019. (Note: When pasting this document into Free Republic, it seems that most of the special formatting is lost, such as bold, italics, underlined words and embedded links. To read the document with the formatting and embedded links go to the link of the document.) I served as her confessor for the last four years of her life. She was a holy sister. She loved Jesus deeply, as well as the Body of Jesus—the Church. Consequently, she understood well...

When first reported, 2025’s jobs reports added up to 1.2 million new jobs. After revisions, the economy added just 116,000 — 90% less.

Please don't read this if you can only absorb what's on the outside of a package, or the top 1 idea in a string of ideas. It's more likely you'll get mad at me, then I'll get nasty-grams from you, but it won't make either of us "healthy, wealthy or wise". Why not just skip this? I'm buying a new computer I don't need because 1) everything electronic may soon go through the roof, microchips becoming scarce or expensive because of friction between the U.S. and China, with China restricting supply to us of rare earth elements necessary for chip...

Myers Park Baptist Church was founded in 1943 and has stood as an icon in one of the most affluent areas of Charlotte for 83 years. But recently, to reflect its “inclusive” and “ecumenical” nature, the congregation dropped “Baptist” from its name. However, it currently remains affiliate with the progressive Alliance of Baptists, but goes by the name Myers Park Covenant Church. Its current “pastor,” if you want to call him that, is Tim Moore, who also led Sardis Baptist Church for over two decades prior to taking his current position at Myers Park. During their “pride day” sermon in...

Daily Readings from the USCCBJesus said to the crowds, “When you see a cloud rising in the west you say immediately that it is going to rain—and so it does; and when you notice that the wind is blowing from the south you say that it is going to be hot—and so it is. You hypocrites! You know how to interpret the appearance of the earth and the sky; why do you not know how to interpret the present time?” Luke 12:54–56Today, when we want to know the weather forecast, we turn to an app, a website, or the evening...

Former Vice President Kamala Harris’ attempt to inspire voters at a Democratic rally in Mississippi fell flat Thursday after she was forced to repeat a confusing quote in a far-from-full high school gym. “You know, I mentor a lot of young people, and I talk to them sometimes and part of the advice I give them is, you know, never let someone else with limited ability to see your capacity be a limitation on your ambition,” Harris said at the Columbus, Miss., rally for Democratic Senate hopeful Scott Colom. The applause line received barely any reaction from the crowd, prompting...

As Election Day approaches, Texas families across the state have reported receiving unsolicited text messages and physical mailers that appear to promote resources for trans-identified students. The materials, which first surfaced last week, prominently named the Transgender Education Network of Texas (TENT) and linked to its website, which features guidance on bathrooms, pronouns, student clubs, and even legal emancipation from parents. TENT has strongly denied any involvement, calling the distribution a political attack timed to coincide with the start of early voting. Here are four key things to know about the controversy. 1. Newly formed Wyoming LLC appears linked to...

Bobby Conner is a member of the Apostolic Council of Prophetic Elders (ACPE) and a member of the Harvest International Ministries apostolic network, chaired by NAR warlord Che Ahn. After 27 years as a Southern Baptist pastor, he founded Eagles View Ministries. He recently said he was at ‘prophet’ Bob Jones’ house when NASA called and asked Jones to look into space for them and “tell us what you see” because they knew he could see farther into space than they could, said Bob Jones was a time-traveler, and also claimed he once spoke a squirrel into existence. Though he’s...

US intelligence purportedly believes country may not survive the economic, political and social tensions dividing its societyThe green light had been given; the mission was ready to go.At an Israeli base deep inside Gaza, the soldiers of the Givati Infantry Brigade’s Rotem Battalion were preparing to embark on a combat patrol.Yet upon opening the door of their Namer armoured personnel carrier, they refused to enter.Despite the increasingly frustrated entreaties of their commander, the operation was ultimately scrapped. Why? Because, according to multiple reports on the August incident, there was a female paramedic inside the armoured vehicle, and for the troops...

Major U.S. banks have discovered unauthorized third-party AI agents operating inside customer accounts, prompting an industry-wide push to contain the risk. Axios reports that Morgan Stanley, Bank of America, JPMorgan, Wells Fargo and other large banks are finding AI agents inside accounts that, in some cases, appear to be taking actions the account holder never actually told them to take. One bank official called the situation “horrifying.” Another described “grave concerns about agents gaining access to customer accounts and taking steps that could impact user finances.” Unwanted AI access to accounts typically occurs when a customer hands their login credentials...

Almost 4,000 migrants are loitering in camps waiting to cross the Channel, it has emerged. Duncan Capps, the border security commander, said the number of asylum seekers in northern France is roughly double the typical size of the cohorts in two tent cities. But prices for those hoping to reach Britain have fallen to as low as £840. It is believed to be one of the lowest prices on record. Mr Capps said: “I think the French estimate at the moment is that there are almost 3,800 people between those two camps. Previously it was broadly about 2,000 between them....

European leaders are auditioning potential negotiators to face off with Vladimir Putin in talks to end the war in Ukraine. European leaders are auditioning potential negotiators to face off with Vladimir Putin in talks to end the war in Ukraine. Diplomatic sources have told The Telegraph that approaches have been made to possible candidates for the role. Giorgia Meloni, the Italian prime minister, Alexander Stubb, the Finnish president, and Petr Pavel, the Czech president, have all been mooted for the position, as have Mette Frederiksen, the Danish prime minister, and Jonas Gahr Støre, the Norwegian prime minister. In recent weeks,...

The man arrested for allegedly using a sledgehammer to behead a Marine figure on an Iwo Jima monument near Quantico, Virginia, is a Mexican illegal alien and former Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) recipient who lost his status this year, federal sources told Fox News. Miguel Alonso Maldonado Soriano, 27, was charged with felony destruction of property, trespass with intent to damage property and felony injury to a monument.

An internal document from the group that organized Democratic congressional candidate Brad Lander’s trip to the West Bank describes Israel as "genocidal[SIC]" and engaged in "ethnic cleansing[SIC]" and says the trip’s goal is to build support for "international intervention" against Israel. The document, labeled "INTERNAL DOCUMENT: DO NOT SHARE OR CIRCULATE," is a set of talking points from Protect the Harvest, which recruits foreigners to help make Israel look bad as part of its smear campaign. Lander did his part, posting to social media that he had been "detained" by the Israel Defense Forces. Lander is the Democratic nominee for...

No criminal charges for Dr. Aryan Toosi, who ignored a patient's pulse and breathing, falsely declared him dead, and placed him in a freezing morgue, where he suffered severe, permanent brain damage. https://www.kbtx.com/2026/07/09/family-plans-legal-fight-after-toddler-declared-dead-later-found-alive-hospital-morgue/
