Sounds like they got intel that its very likely talks of some sort are going to happen, and:
A. They are trying to glom onto it to stay 'relevent'
B. They are going to try and pull a Boris Johnson
Its that bolded part that is infuriating. It implies an attitude that the President of the United States is supposed to serve at the pleasure of the countries of Europe. A bunch of 'farmers' fought a war (and won) to disavow them of that notion, and many of their countrymen left their countries in the following antebellum years to escape from the yokes they were under.
It sure won’t be our moron who endowed Putin with the title of “humanitarian” today.
Sadly, General Huntziger and the Wagon-Lit are no longer available.
Russia invaded a sovereign country, crossed an internationally recognized border and launched a war to dismantle its neighbor.
Nearly every European state supports Ukraine, not out of ideology, but because changing borders by force is a direct threat to their own security.
