The Jackson, Mississippi, police chief told reporters on Monday that the hanging of Tasia Fortune, whose body was found on Aug. 3, was a "staged event" in a "a drug case gone very wrong." Police Chief RaShall Brackney also said that authorities are still investigating and expect "more arrests to be pending," as well as "charges of conspiracy" to be filed against the three suspects who were already charged in her murder. "This is apparently from what we can see, a drug case gone very wrong, in the ultimate death of Tasia Fortune," Brackney said. "So at this time, we...

PARIS (LifeSiteNews) — A French Muslim apologetics group that actively opposes a Catholic revival has predicted that France could “become Catholic again” within a few generations, following the Pope’s enthusiastic reception in Paris. On September 25 the group Miséricorde pour l’Houmanité (“Mercy for Humanity”) published a message on X predicting that “France will become Catholic again” amid what it described as a growing Catholic revival, strengthened by American Catholic influence. The group lamented that such a revival could undermine Islam’s spiritual influence in Western Europe. “I am sad when I see all this excitement around Catholicism,” the group wrote. “I...

Ten thousand U.S. households that earned over $1 million collected unemployment benefits in 2024, receiving nearly $100 million in taxpayer money, according to data shared with The Washington Times. The data was given to the newspaper by Iowa GOP Sen. Joni Ernst, who received it from the IRS and who has tracked this issue for years. Among the most common millionaire claimants were engineers, software engineers, lawyers, executive managers and salespeople, according to the newspaper. High-tax, Democratic-led states topped the list of locations in which the millionaires who collected unemployment lived. California ranked first, followed by New York, Massachusetts and...

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s office bent its own purchasing rules to acquire forensic video software days before its indictment of President Donald Trump regarding the 2020 election, according to Justice Department records released by the Oversight Project. The documents, obtained through the Oversight Project’s Freedom of Information Act lawsuit, land before Smith testifies Tuesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee concerning his lawfare against Trump. They raise new questions about whether his office followed appropriate legal and ethical standards and what video Smith needed so urgently. The records show that on June 26, 2023, Smith’s Litigation Support asked Axon Investigate,...

They asked for help, then locked the replies. "We are seeking assistance locating a lost firearm magazine. On September 26, 2026, an on-duty WRPS officer lost their Service-issued magazine from their ballistic vest. The magazine, which was loaded, is similar to the one pictured. The magazine is believed to have been lost in Woolwich or Wellesley Township. Anyone with information is asked to contact police" You'll be happy to know that they found the magazine, but didn't tell us where it was found, which was even more lame than locking the replies.

The political left seems to have unlimited funds to spread its poison. Meanwhile, promoting free markets and capitalism is almost always done on the cheap. It shouldn’t be this way. The individuals and businesses that have enjoyed the bountiful fruits of capitalism should generously support those who fight on the ground to keep government from choking the only arrangement that has produced widespread prosperity. The Democrats and their big tent of progressives, socialists, Marxists, Leninists and Maoists not only have infinite in-kind contributions from a friendly press, they are well funded by the wealthy who have chosen to subsidize virulent...

"With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit, and with this in view, be on the alert with all perseverance and petition for all the saints" (Eph. 6:18). God wants you to look beyond your own problems and pray for the needs of others. The great preacher D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones wrote, "Before the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, in Barcelona, Madrid and other places, there were psychological clinics with large numbers of neurotics undergoing drug treatments and others attending regularly for psychoanalysis and such like. They had their personal problems, their worries, their anxieties, their...

Here in New York, our very-light-weight Governor Kathy Hochul is running for re-election. To her slight credit, she has noticed that New York is a high cost state, not the least for cost of energy, and that New Yorkers are upset about that. New Yorkers are right to be upset about the cost of energy. According to this chart from the federal EIA containing most recent data for July 2026, the average price of electricity to the ultimate consumer in New York for that month was 29.9¢/kWh, compared to a national average of 18.31¢/kWh; and New York’s cost had increased...

on a recent Friday afternoon, the Democratic candidate for the United States Senate from Kansas took time out from the campaign trail to perform a wedding. Two days later, he baptized a baby on the vast campus of Resurrection, a United Methodist Church he founded and leads. Not a word of politics was spoken amid the prayers to Jesus and wonder at the mightiness of God. Instead, it was the insistent calls for selfless love and neighborly service echoing through Resurrection’s hallways and chapels that offered a quiet rebuke to the angry battles raging outside the sanctuary. It may go...

Michigan U.S. Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed took aim at football culture, questioning whether America’s most popular sport is “ethical,” according to a resurfaced audio clip posted online Monday by the Republican Party. In a 2023 podcast episode, the Michigan Democrat questioned whether American football could be considered “ethical” or “safe” due to the risk of chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE) for players and perceived ties to toxic masculinity and violence. “What is it about this brutal sport that keeps us coming back?” El-Sayed is heard saying. “Is there a version of football that’s actually ethical and safe? What would need to...

Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth has assigned personnel to use "advanced intelligence and cyber capabilities to identify, disrupt, and neutralize foreign interference" in the upcoming elections, Axios has learned. Why it matters: The threat of foreign election interference has been a biennial U.S. concern for the past decade. This effort will use the most advanced artificial intelligence capabilities to date, officials said. Hegseth's order does not direct military personnel to the polls, but President Trump has refused to rule out that possibility, heightening concern from Democrats and administration critics.

I tried to look it up with google (cough) and while it said "As of August 2026, construction of the new White House ballroom is reported as roughly 65% complete, the only pictures that the internet shows are of the demolition at the site. Hasn't something (65%) been built by now? Could someone please post some pictures?
