Answer - All are lame excuses for not contributing to the Free Republic 3Q2026 fund raiser. Is it me, or are we wayyyyyyyyyyyyy behindddddddd on the quarterly fund-raisins? Only 25% and 2/3 of the way through the quarter?!?!? Maybe some have seen it worse than this. And the number of postings seem to have decreased, unless I am looking at the wrong page. Help me understand the situation.

CMS students head back to the classroom on Tuesday, but Channel 9 learned the man accused of threatening to kill students at five different schools is now out of jail. Investigators say Drew Owens laid out mass shooting plans for a few elementary, middle and high schools. At 11:30 Saturday morning, Owens walked out of the Mecklenburg County Jail. Now a lot of parents tell us they're looking over their shoulders. "Is he going to show up at one of the schools? It's not good," said one parent. She was so afraid that she didn't want her face shown. "I'm...

South Carolina Republicans are set to choose between Senator Darline Graham and Representative Ralph Norman in the special runoff on Tuesday to pick a new nominee in the Senate race following the death of Senator Lindsey Graham. Darline Graham was appointed by South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster to fill the seat held by her brother, who died in July. She has received President Donald Trump’s endorsement in the runoff. She faces Norman, a conservative member of the House Freedom Caucus, as no candidate received an outright majority in the special primary held earlier in August. Scott Huffmon, a professor of...

TORONTO (AP) — Prime Minister Mark Carney said Monday that U.S. trade demands confirmed Canada's fears that U.S. President Donald Trump was seeking to dismantle its auto industry, as Trump threatened new 50% tariffs on Canadian vehicles, auto parts and steel, and as Ontario Premier Doug Ford warned Canada could cut off electricity and critical minerals to the United States.Carney said Canada remained willing to negotiate, but only if Washington approached the talks as a partnership between sovereign countries. He said "an attitude at the negotiation table that Canada is a subsidiary of the United States" is "not something we're...
  • Trump is winning the Iran war— stay the course

Even before Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent sets out new US moves to pressure Iran’s economy, things are looking increasing grim for Tehran; President Donald Trump is clearly winning and mainly needs to hold firm as the enemy tries to wriggle out. Crucially, oil is now flowing through the Strait of Hormuz, meaning Tehran’s gambit of closing it has failed. And the neighbors that Iran has been attacking have had enough: Its largest trading partner, the United Arab Emirates, last week cut off all transactions including financial ones.

TUCSON — When Sen. Mark Kelly set out for a day of midterm campaigning, it only took about 15 minutes for someone to address the elephant in the room. “We need to make sure that we've got leaders in the United States Senate, in Congress and potentially in the White House as well,” Secretary of State Adrian Fontes said, coughing toward Kelly. “Who can actually understand what we need to do and support veterans. I’m gonna nudge him a little bit. I have to,” Fontes added as the crowd cheered. Kelly, legs crossed, smiled from under his U.S. Navy baseball...

JD Vance Wants To Ditch The Dollar’s Reserve Status Tony Katz isn’t buying what JD Vance is selling on the dollar. “What is he talking about?” Katz said, reacting to the vice president’s recent comments questioning whether America should even want to be the world’s reserve currency. “And then why is he talking about it?” Vance has argued that reserve currency status is a raw deal — that it floods the country with “mostly useless imports,” hollows out domestic manufacturing, and effectively taxes American producers to subsidize American consumers. Katz brought in Phil Magness, the David J. Theroux Chair in...

Democrat Michigan Senate nominee Abdulrahman Mohamed El-Sayed (aka Abdul El-Sayed) suggested to a group of supporters last year that America creates terrorism. (snip) Here is the pertinent part of his insane comments:I think the approach that we’ve often taken with terrorism has been to figure out how to leverage the might of the U.S. military to go in and root out, right, certain terrorist organizations, et cetera. And where that’s necessary, that’s necessary. But I also think we need to be curious about why those things happen in the first place. Like, what drives somebody to want to commit such...

On Tuesday, a court in Dallas, Texas will convene to decide the fate of a small baby called Gabriel or Rumi, depending on who you believe his mother is. Gabriel-Rumi is at present a sort of Schrödinger’s baby, suspended between possible futures and suspended also, poor sod, between life and death: born with heart disease, headed now for surgery. Gabriel-Rumi’s short life has so far been the subject of a media frenzy, for reasons I’ll explain, but should he later look back and be appalled at all the fuss, I’d like him to know what a service he’s already done...

More than half of all leftist white women younger than 30 have been told by a medical provider that they have a mental health issue. The Lindsay Clancy murder trial seems to be an open and shut case. Her attorney freely admits that she did indeed strangle her three children to death. That should be it, right? She’s found guilty after a short trial and sent to prison (although she deserves far worse). Yet this case has become an internet firestorm. TikTok-addicted women, itching for the chance to be the amateur sleuth who breaks open the case like in...

An Egyptian American activist sentenced to life in prison in absentia by a Cairo court for his support of the Muslim Brotherhood is pumping cash into Abdul El-Sayed’s campaign for U.S. Senate. Mohamed Soltan, the 38-year-old president of the American Committee for Middle East Rights, is funneling funds to El-Sayed’s Abdul for U.S. Senate candidate committee as ACMER contributes to Fighting for Michigan PAC, the super PAC backing the former Wayne County health official. Perhaps we should shut down womanhood until we find out just what the hell is going on here. The last couple of weeks have been more insane than usual, and everything has been insane for the last couple of decades, but this insanity has been mostly about the crazy things that crazy women do. And most of the ladies involved are women of pallor from the middle to upper-middle class. From bizarre social media imbroglios, like a mom demanding all the other moms stop sending Oreos to school because her kid isn’t allowed to have Oreos so no kid can...

An arbitrator has ordered the Washington Post to rehire Karen Attiah, the opinion columnist who was fired last September after she blasted Charlie Kirk as “a white man that espoused violence” the day of his brutal assassination. In a written decision Thursday, arbitrator Sarah Miller Espinosa said WaPo “did not have good and sufficient cause” to fire the scribe and “violated” its labor agreement with the controversial columnist. Espinosa ordered the legacy newspaper to compensate Attiah with back pay and lost benefits. “This decision confirms what we’ve said from the start: I was doing my job as an opinion journalist,...

PHOENIX (AP) — Enrollment in the biggest federally funded food aid program in the U.S. dropped by more than 13% in a 12-month span — a decline far steeper than the government estimated as work requirements and other provisions of President Donald Trump's "big beautiful bill" take hold. Those losing coverage in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, or SNAP, include people who don't meet the tightening requirements to participate, and, advocates say, some who qualify for the help but are rejected because they miss deadlines or don't have the needed documentation handy. It's too early to tell exactly how many...

An Ohio doctor shot dead in a murder plot allegedly hatched by her own 18-year-old daughter had years earlier written an academic paper examining the psychology of teenage killers. Tamela Dutcher, 55, was pronounced dead at the hospital shortly after she was gunned down by two men as she sat on the couch inside her Delaware County home last week, according to an affidavit obtained by Oxygen. Her daughter, Bryanna Dutcher, and the two men, identified as her boyfriend Christian Evans, 20, and his roommate Dajameous Payne, 21, have now all been indicted in connection with her murder.
