Answer - All are lame excuses for not contributing to the Free Republic 3Q2026 fund raiser.
Is it me, or are we wayyyyyyyyyyyyy behindddddddd on the quarterly fund-raisins? Only 25% and 2/3 of the way through the quarter?!?!? Maybe some have seen it worse than this.
And the number of postings seem to have decreased, unless I am looking at the wrong page.
Help me understand the situation.

Folks, we all need to help out to keep the lights on.
I know the Breaking News is basically filled with incredibly outdated news and I know a number of threads are being deleted. I do not understand how things are being handled, but we do have decent content for what is posted and we have a wonderful history to delve through.
I am a monthly donor and I encourage everyone else to also help.
There are too many rules in the posting articles.
We need to step up the fundraising or Free Republic will go away.
None of them involve any physical effort........

Part of the problem is that some posters believe that their opinions are facts and if you don’t share their opinions they call you names. Rather than get into continuous pissing contests it is much easier to disengage and move on. There are other sources of info out there ... most allow you to block or mute people that you choose to avoid.

Or worse. My guess is that everyone here has experienced some level of this. Politics is a tough sport really - ask Trump or the idiot Schumer from NY.
Here among FRiends one would expect to be cut slack from ad hominem attacks, though I have seen some legitimate challenges to opinions be taken as a personal attack. If anything, FR is a good place to challenge, be challenged and develop/keep a thick political skin.
There are a few here I do not engage in discussion for the reasons you stated. But I won’t let those types keep me away, or from supporting FR.
I recently read that the powers that be are going to sell FR if they don’t make the money.
