A tree-trimming employee has been charged with manslaughter after allegedly crushing his coworker’s head with a hydraulic grapple while the pair were reportedly "f—ing around" on the job, according to Minnesota authorities.
Responding to reports of an incident, police discovered Lynch lying on the ground with "a significant amount of blood around him and significant trauma to his head," the complaint said.
Lynch was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the county.
Authorities said Crimmins was operating a boom, a movable mechanical arm attached to a truck, when he and Lynch began messing around with their shadows.
"He and the Victim were ‘f—ing around’ and saw that the sunlight was casting shadows of both the grapple and of the Victim on the street," the criminal complaint said.
While looking at the shadows, Crimmins allegedly maneuvered the grapple so that its shadow appeared to grab Lynch’s shadow.
However, he did not realize that the grapple itself was moving toward Lynch’s head.
"Crimmins was not monitoring the actual grapple or Lynch. He then opened and closed the grapple, crushing Lynch’s head," the Dakota County Attorney's Office said.
A witness also saw the incident unfold and said the grapple appeared to "hit or pinch" Lynch’s head as it approached him.

idiots
My Mama used to say “I just want to pinch your head off”.
I’m glad Mom was never a tree trimmer with a mechanical limb removal tool.
As a teen, I had a job at a butcher shop-chain. It was when butcher shops actually received whole sides of beef, and hogs, and broke them down in a processing area in the back of the store.
some of the guys were older careerists, some were young guys still looking for a path. I was a college kid looking to earn an extra buck. As you could imagine, guys f***ed around, guys joked, guys argued.
The manager was like a drill sergeant. If he saw anyone handling a knife, a saw, blade or anything else that was in the slightest out-of-line, he would be in your face immediately and you wouldn’t forget it.
At the time, I thought he was a hardass - but I realize now that strict discipline and professionalism probably saved A LOT of injuries.
Eeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwws.........
Lawnmower in a caddie trunk.....that show was hysterical.
They’re low-wage workers for a reason.
Are there ANY intelligent people in that state?
Apparently not..........
Tree trimmer and horse play should never be in the same sentence
“””They’re low-wage workers for a reason.”””
They make a good wage. There are retards in every profession.
Why can’t we hold judges and prosecutors to the same standard?
They are constantly F@!#ing around on the job causing death and destruction. Perhaps if they were not indemnified against criminal and civil liability they would stop F@#ing on the job.
Sadly a lot of people think that the phase "I was just joking" covers a multitude of sins and they never pay the prices for the stupid things they do. Until there is blood. And at that point the price is really really high.
Some years back there was a local NGO that hired alkies and druggies out of halfway houses and learned them to trim trees.
It was amazing to watch them work quickly and efficiently. They would climb them trees and get the work done in half the time as other companies.
It was one of the few times I ever saw a state sponsored job placement plan work so well.
I realize you were in a butcher’s shop, ut slaughterhouse injuries and deaths are horrific. I would imagine butcher shop incidents are not far off.
It’s funny til someone gets hurt.
“A tree-trimming employee has been charged with manslaughter after allegedly crushing his coworker’s head with a hydraulic grapple”. I figured it was a chainsaw.
