With affordability expected to be a key factor in deciding the outcome of the 2026 elections, Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D-NY) says he is giving his top housing advisor Cea Weaver "free rein. She has some fabulous ideas that will greatly reduce the cost of housing for the masses." "The major impediment to efficiently housing our population is the notion that the middle-class should be home-owners," Weaver insisted. "They are lured into this trap by the notion that owning a home can help them build equity and grow their wealth. This is bourgeois nonsense. Private home-ownership is riddled with costly redundancies...

Transcript SummaryWell, it’s a great question, Brian, because I think the world is still determining what that order is going to be. And let’s be clear what we’re talking about first and foremost, which is: what are the trading…What is going to govern global trade? What is the role of the WTO going to be? How important are bilateral deals, such as the one we’re developing, plural lateral deals, if I can use that term, Trans-Pacific Partnership, potential linkages between Trans-Pacific Partnership and the EU. Where is financial regulation, payment system regulation going to fit into that? All of these...

[Catholic Caucus] "Nostalgic" Proposals on Liturgy Not Helpful – Cardinal SpenglerAsked about the Mass in the Roman rite, Cardinal Jaime Spengler of Porto Alegre, Brazil, said that “the river doesn’t flow backwards.” He spoke with VidaNuevaDigital.com on January 16. The cardinal is president of the bishops’ conferences of Brazil and Latin America (CELAM). His main statement echoes the historically weak ideas promoted by Cardinal Roche at the consistory on January 7-8. Cardinal Spengler said, “Throughout history, the liturgy has undergone various reforms. The Second Vatican Council represents an enormous effort to recover fundamental elements of Catholic liturgical celebration. Nostalgic proposals...

A Cuban national in the country illegally, Robyn Argote Brooks, has been arrested after authorities said he rammed two ICE vehicles in San Antonio with his car. He did so as vehicular attacks against ICE officers have increased by 3,200% in one year and targeted attacks against federal agents have exponentially increased nationwide. “A criminal illegal alien rammed ICE vehicles in San Antonio, sending an agent to the hospital. Organized groups are obstructing immigration enforcement across the country, putting officers and law-abiding civilians at risk. These criminals must be arrested,” Gov. Greg Abbott said in a social media post commenting...

Make this make sense: 1. 85% of Americans (eg, the majority both sides) want a voter ID requirement 2. this would make it one of the most popular policies of all time 3. yet, while controlling Congress, republicans haven't passed any law to enact this requirement The SAVE Act would accomplish this, and it's passed the house but stalled in the senate for months This is an absurdity that can only really be explained by massive incompetence or an incentive to cheat. I'm not sure which it is

The Golden Globe Awards once again tanked in the ratings. This year, this dumb awards show that features celebrities who hate Normal People served up ratings even worse than last year (2025), and last year (2025) the ratings sucked. Oh, and last year’s (2025) ratings were lower than the previous year (2024), and in 2024 the ratings sucked. So, for the third year in a row, the Golden Globes have lost viewers. Only 8.66 million people tuned in this year, a drop of seven percent compared to last year, when an abysmal 9.27 million tuned in

"They ought to take it to court," the Kentucky senator said.Making an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience Tuesday, Sen. Rand Paul (R–Ky.) expressed his frustration that the Trump administration has failed to refer Anthony Fauci for criminal prosecution for lying to Congress. Paul told Rogan that he believes Fauci's blanket pardon—issued by former President Joe Biden during the waning hours of his presidency—should be challenged in court. Paul said he has provided Attorney General Pam Bondi with evidence that Fauci misled Congress about gain-of-function research and also instructed his deputies to destroy public records in order to stymie scrutiny....

Prime Minister Keir Starmer usually goes out of his way not to annoy Donald Trump. So he better hope the windmill-hating U.S. president doesn’t notice what the U.K. just did. In a fillip for the global offshore wind industry, Starmer’s government on Wednesday announced its biggest-ever down payment on the technology. It agreed to price guarantees, funded by billpayers to the tune of up to £1.8 billion (€2.08 billion) a year, for eight major projects in England, Scotland and Wales. The schemes have the capacity to generate 8.4 gigawatts of electricity, the U.K. energy department said — enough to power...

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) serves as the framework through which the United States commits to long-term military assistance to Israel, typically in 10-year increments. These funds must be spent in the US to support American defense manufacturing and advance US defense innovation. There are reports that the next MoU may extend for 20 years to avoid recurring political disputes and allow both governments to plan for the long term. Supply delays In late 2023 and throughout much of 2024, during my visits with Israeli soldiers in the field and meetings with Israeli political and military officials, I learned that...

In all my years of monitoring the liberal media, I've never seen anything quite like this. On today's CNN This Morning, host Audie Cornish attempted to corner a panelist. She repeatedly tried to get Rob Bluey, an MRC alum and executive editor of the Daily Signal, to state, in light of recent ICE activities, whether he feels the need to carry ID proving he's an American . . . "Carrying papers. Rob, are you going to start carrying, like, real I.D.?"Get the rest of the story and view the video here
