Rosie O’Donnell falsely claimed the transgender Minneapolis Catholic school shooter was a “Republican, MAGA person, white supremacist” in a conspiracy-laden tirade on social media — while the shooter in fact had scribbled “kill Donald Trump” on one of his gun magazines. The former talk show host posted a video on TikTok telling her followers: “What do you know? [The shooter] was a white guy, Republican, MAGA person. White supremacist.” But the claim is flatly contradicted by the evidence. The shooter, 29-year-old Robin Westman, left behind a disturbing manifesto and social media posts showing hatred of Trump — even scribbling “Kill...

Explanation: A young crescent moon can be hard to see. That's because when the Moon shows its crescent phase (young or old) it can never be far from the Sun in planet Earth's sky. But even though the sky is still bright, a slender sunlit lunar crescent is clearly visible in this early evening skyscape. The telephoto snapshot was captured on August 24, with the Moon very near the western horizon at sunset. Seen in a narrow crescent phase about 1.5 days old, the visible sunlit portion is a mere two percent of the surface of the Moon's familiar nearside....

Had the New York Knicks offered their head coaching job to South Carolina women's coach Dawn Staley, who had a formal interview for the position, she said she would have taken it. "I would have had to do it. Not just for me. For women. To break [that door] open," Staley said on the "Post Moves" podcast with WNBA star Aliyah Boston and former WNBA great Candace Parker. "I would have had to. It's the New York Knicks. I'm from Philly. But it's the freaking New York Knicks." The Knicks instead hired Mike Brown in early July to fill their...

On Monday, President Donald Trump moved to fire Lisa Cook, a Biden-nominated member of the Federal Reserve’s Board of Governors. He moved to fire Cook for “cause,” and that cause is clear enough: According to William Pulte, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, Cook allegedly committed mortgage fraud by lying about her principal place of residence for purposes of securing more favorable interest rates—and then failed to report her rental income from the properties, to boot. Trump’s move is the first time a president has ever tried to fire a Fed governor for cause, and Trump’s usual detractors have...

Chicago’s mayor spent the weekend thundering about “democracy,” “fascism,” and the Constitution. Then he showed up on MSNBC and—under the hottest spotlight of his tenure—stumbled over the simplest question in public safety: would more cops on the street make Chicago safer? Joe Scarborough asked it five times. Brandon Johnson couldn’t say yes. He filibustered about housing, mental health, and youth jobs until he was forced to mutter that the police must be “fully supported.” Translation: with Trump threatening federal muscle, even the most progressive mayor knows he can’t keep sneering at cops. Let’s set the scene. After deploying forces to...

Beijing’s influence stretches deeper than Washington dares admit.China is America’s greatest adversary. Not merely an economic rival or a diplomatic competitor, but an existential threat to everything the United States claims to stand for. Beijing dreams of an America in retreat, a world where democratic values collapse and the Middle Kingdom reclaims the throne of global dominance. Their strategy isn’t nuclear war. It’s far more insidious: buying America one acre at a time. The land acquisition pattern is unmistakable and deliberate. In New Hampshire alone, Chinese companies have made several major purchases in the last decade. Nongfu Spring, owned by China’s...

Former Vice President Kamala Harris will receive protection from the California Highway Patrol after President Trump revoked her Secret Service protection, law enforcement sources said Friday. Former vice presidents usually get Secret Service protection for six months after leaving office, while ex-presidents get protection for life. But...

The meeting was so secret that only the attendees, a handful of top Iranian government officials and military commanders, knew the time and location. It was June 16, the fourth day of Iran’s war with Israel, and Iran’s Supreme National Security Council gathered for an emergency meeting in a bunker 100 feet below a mountain slope in the western part of Tehran. For days, a relentless Israeli bombing campaign had destroyed military, government and nuclear sites around Iran, and had decimated the top echelon of Iran’s military commanders and nuclear scientists. The officials, who included President Masoud Pezeshkian, the heads...

Taylor Swift’s $17 million Rhode Island mansion isn’t just a star-studded backdrop anymore—it’s ground zero for a growing tax revolt aimed at the wealthy. Starting next summer, the state will slap a new surcharge on vacation homes worth $1 million or more, a move already dubbed the “Taylor Swift Tax.” The goal: Make deep-pocketed second-home owners pay more, and set the stage for a wave of similar crackdowns from Montana’s mountains to Connecticut’s suburbs. And yet, at the very top of the market, wealthy buyers are still scooping up real estate. As of April 2025, the $1 million-plus category has...

Spaceflight has a broad impact on the way our body functions — and that includes our reproductive systems. Indeed, to get a better idea of how future pregnancies and new generations born to humans beyond Earth will be affected, scientists need to examine how well our reproductive germ cells and stem cells respond to potentially harmful factors, like radiation and microgravity. Researchers from Kyoto University in Japan did just this: They froze the spermatogonial stem cells of mice through a process called cryopreservation, then kept them on the International Space Station (ISS) for six months. Once back on Earth, researchers...
