In America today, evil has a large cheering section. In Los Angeles, advocates for criminal aliens doxed ICE agents, posting flyers with their personal information, endangering them and their families. This is the latest tactic to prevent the deportation of hardened criminals and gang members, including those wanted for rape and murder. One group, which styles itself the Community Self-Defense Coalition, has been patrolling the city with megaphones, warning of the presence of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents.

His supporters pointed out that Trump wasn’t so much creating division as he was revealing divisions that had been growing in America for a long time. The reaction to the novel Wuhan coronavirus did the country a similar service, by revealing a new fault line: two sets of rules, which were applied differently to Americans depending on their...

Seems like a good question, since large parts of America have yet to forgive Elon Musk for saving free speech here. Whatever Musk's other peccadilloes may be, he spent $44 billion of his own money to buy Twitter outright and immediately exposed how government pressured the platform to shut down dissent and debate during the Biden years. Musk uncovered the whole corrupt Big Brother-Big Tech Censorship Industrial Complex run out of the Departments of State and Health and Human Services and the abuse of "misinformation" to mean "anything that contradicts our positions." ... Musk hasn't abandoned the cause of free...

On October 1, 2017, shots rang out all over the Las Vegas Strip as concertgoers at the Route 91 Harvest music festival fled to safety. In total, 59 people were killed and over 500 injured during the chaos that erupted from above on the country music gathering. John Pelletier, then a captain with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, was the incident commander and was tasked with managing the extensive crime scene. Consumer prices rose 2.8% in February compared to a year ago, easing slightly over the first full month under President Donald Trump and offering welcome news for markets roiled by a global trade war. Inflation cooled more than economists expected. Price increases slowed from a 3% inflation rate recorded in January, though inflation remain nearly a percentage point higher than the Federal Reserve's target of 2%. Egg prices, a closely watched symbol of price increases, soared 58.8% in February compared to a year ago, accelerating from the previous month. Bird flu has decimated the egg supply, lifting prices higher. The...

The US Department of Education is planning to cut about half of its workforce, as the Trump administration works to slash the size of the federal government. The mass layoffs will affect nearly 2,100 people who are set to be placed on leave from 21 March. Trump has long sought to eliminate the department, a long-cherished goal of some conservatives, but such an action would require approval by Congress. The department, which has an annual budget of around $238bn (£188bn), employs more than 4,000 people. Established in 1979, the department oversees funding for public schools, administers student loans and runs...

Inflation cooled slightly in February even as the pace of price growth remained well above the Federal Reserve's goal ahead of the central bank's policy meeting next week. The Labor Department on Wednesday said that the consumer price index (CPI) – a broad measure of how much everyday goods like gasoline, groceries and rent cost – increased 0.2% in February compared with last month, while it rose 2.8% on an annual basis. Both the annual and monthly increases in headline inflation were cooler than the expectations of LSEG economists. So-called core prices, which include more volatile measurements of gasoline and...

On Tuesday’s broadcast of “MSNBC Prime,” host Alicia Menendez reacted to President Donald Trump stating that, in her characterization, “he would label violence against dealerships domestic terrorism” by saying that “So, just to be clear, you protest a private company, you are labeled by this administration a domestic terrorist.” Menendez said, “[Y]ou also, overnight, have this post claiming that protests at Tesla dealerships are illegal. He said today he would label violence against dealerships domestic terrorism. Now, you know I am judicious in how I play this sound, but I think you need to hear it from him.” She then...

In a post in December 2021, I first asked which state or country would be the first to hit the “Renewable Energy Wall” — described as “a situation where the electricity system stops functioning, or the price goes through the roof,” or some other aspects of impossibility become so unavoidable that the zero carbon fantasy must be abandoned. In subsequent posts I have explored various ways that the Wall was starting to manifest — for example, cancellation of offshore wind energy developments, and abandonment of large investments in producing so-called “green hydrogen.” Although the coming of the Wall has been...

President Donald Trump has long been able to bend Republican lawmakers to his will with a single online post. The mere hint of a threat that he might announce a member “SHOULD BE PRIMARIED” is enough to bring most GOP members into line. Not Rep. Thomas Massie. The 54-year-old former robotics engineer brushed aside that precise threat from Trump Monday night, even with the president vowing to “lead the charge” against him after Massie made clear that he would not vote for the Trump-blessed spending bill pushed by House Republican leaders. Speaking to reporters Tuesday, Massie met the threat with...
