Once again, the Biden Administration made a brilliant move. By disapproving the JetBlue/Spirit Airlines merger, consumers will suffer and jobs will be lost.Spirit met with creditors today to discuss the terms of a bankruptcy. If they go bankrupt (a virtual certainty now), the jobs at Spirit will be lost. Also, there will be less competition with one less airline out there; hence, airline ticket prices will go up.A merger was the only way Spirit could have survived. Thank you Biden Administration.

Tech billionaire Elon Musk took to X on Friday afternoon to claim the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) is "actively blocking" volunteers who try to help the struggling citizens of western North Carolina in the wake of Hurricane Helene. "Just received this note from a SpaceX engineer helping on the ground in North Carolina," Musk wrote. "@FEMA is not merely failing to adequately help people in trouble, but is actively blocking citizens who try to help!" "Hey Elon, update here on site of Asheville, NC," Musk said his employee wrote. ASHEVILLE, NC — A hurricane victim struggling to keep his head above flood waters was relieved when he heard the sound of a rescue chopper overhead that brought him much-needed relief when it dropped a $750 government check. The desperate man looked up, his eyes stinging from debris kicked up by the helicopter's roaring blades, and was overwhelmed by a feeling of gratitude as snatched the fluttering $750 check out of the air. "Finally!" he said. "Now I won't drown. I'll be able to — replace one of my couches, I guess." The helicopter promptly departed, presumably to deliver checks...

On Thursday evening, Pennsylvania Democratic Sen. Bob Casey was destroyed by Republican challenger Dave McCormick in their first, and likely only, debate. According to a poll posted by ABC27 WHTM, viewers believe that McCormick outperformed Casey in the debate. Casey has served in the U.S. Senate since 2007. McCormick, a West Point graduate and combat veteran, is running for his seat. In the debate, Casey signaled that he would support ending the filibuster to pass legislation protecting abortion rights. This is an extreme pro-abortion stance taken by radical leftists like Vice President Kamala Harris in recent weeks, which Townhall covered....

The Chrysler Building, a long-admired gem of New York City’s skyline, could be the latest victim of the nationwide office collapse. The lease between Cooper Union, which owns the land on which the building sits, and RFR Holding was terminated last week, The Wall Street Journal reported. Cooper Union, a private college in the city, told the Journal that RFR Holding had not paid its rent since May and owed it $21 million. “As a result of their nonpayment, they are in default of the ground lease agreement,” John Ruth, Cooper Union’s vice president of finance, said in a statement...

President Joe Biden made two extraordinary statements this week after Iran attacked Israel with nearly 200 ballistic missiles. First, he said that Israel should not attack Iran’s nuclear facilities, despite the fact that any of those missiles could soon be tipped with a nuclear warhead. Second, he said that Israel would not attack Iran “today” (Thursday), telegraphing its military plans. Biden’s statements were not brilliant ruses designed to throw off Iran’s defenses. There are three possibilities. One: Biden could have been trying to restrain Israel from responding to Iran, just as he did in April, when Iran first attacked Israel...

Your voice matters, and this election’s too important to sit out.”

A former porn star and go-go dancer who has accused Sean “Diddy” Combs of forcing her to have sex during his “freak offs” claims she saw the likes of Donald Trump, Diana Ross and Rev. Al Sharpton at his famed parties, a new report said. English claimed she saw the bevy of famous faces at...

[Catholic Caucus] Personal Experience, Not Moral Absolutes, to Steer Synod Study Group’s Discernment on Sexuality QuestionsA study group established by Pope Francis to develop a synodal way of discerning Catholic Church teaching on so-called controversial issues, including sexual morality and life issues, has proposed what it calls a “new paradigm” that is heavy on situational ethics but minimizes moral absolutes and established Church teaching. The group, which is one of 10 study groups the Pope created in February to provide “in-depth analysis” of “matters of great relevance” that had emerged during the Synod on Synodality’s 2023 session, presented its findings to...

Toyota announced Thursday it will no longer sponsor LGBTQ parades and events and will no longer make efforts to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). Toyota told employees it will no longer participate in the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index and other corporate surveys. Instead, it will “narrow our community activities to align with STEM education and workforce readiness,” the automaker explained in a memo to its 50,000 employees and 1,500 dealers. The change follows after conservative activist Robby Starbuck started a social media campaign highlighting the company’s prior support for LGBTQ events and other woke policies.

From 1776 to 1784 (during the years of the American Revolution), the Congresses of the United States issued sixteen separate spiritual proclamations, calling Americans to humble themselves, fast, pray, and give thanks to God. Few realize that during the American War of Independence, Congress issued spiritual proclamations to the thirteen states in which they asked citizens to seek the Lord in one of the darkest moments of the nation's history. Having been told for decades that America was birthed by deists, few Americans today can imagine that at one time Congress asked pastors to read their proclamations from their pulpits....

What to know At least 215 people have died and hundreds are still unaccounted for in the destruction wrought by Hurricane Helene since it made landfall in Florida on Sept. 26. If the idea of a bunch of liberal white guys talking about a “positive, multiracial, feminist democracy narrative” strikes you as unbearably cringey, white guys like Chris Crass would encourage you to consider the alternative. As a “progressive white guy,” Crass often feels “really sad about what white guy political expression looks like” in the age of Donald Trump and the hard-core masculine right. “When you think of, like, white men taking political action, generally the idea of what that looks like is terrible — Charlottesville, MAGA, a Klan rally,” said Crass, a longtime organizer from Louisville, Kentucky
