Jamie Dimon’s days as CEO of JPMorgan Chase are numbered — though its unclear by how much.In a response to a question Monday about the bank’s succession planning, Dimon indicated that his expected tenure is less than five more years. That’s a key change from Dimon’s previous responses to succession questions, in which his standard answer had been that retirement was perpetually five years away.

President Biden waxed poetic about race in America during a commencement address Sunday at Morehouse College, an HBCU in Georgia: PRESIDENT JOE BIDEN: Many of you have gone through similar or worse things. But you lean on others. They lean on you. And together, you keep the faith and a better day tomorrow. But it is not easy. I know a number of years ago, it felt like one of those Saturdays. The pandemic robbed you of so much. Some have lost loved ones, mothers, fathers, brothers, or sisters, and they are not able to be here to celebrate today....

A Michigan school executive has banned the terms “boy” and “girl” among school staff, contending that using the terms essentially constitutes a “harmful” practice. Kara Davis, the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning Saline Schools in Saline, Michigan, is described as “passionate learner and teacher.” She taught for more than two decades and now partners with “teachers, students, and administrators to help Saline continue to strengthen its collective vision of educational equity and deepen implementation of the Saline Area Schools Graduate Profile,” according to a description on the Saline Schools website. A letter penned by Davis is now going viral,...

There are three things certain in life: death, taxes, and self-styled fact-checkers defending Democrats on late-term abortion. The latest example came on Friday from D.L. Davis, who gave Wisconsin Sen. Ron Johnson a “false” label for claiming “Every Senate Democrat has voted to support unlimited abortions up to the moment of birth.” Johnson’s office cited the Democrats’ 2022 Women’s Health Protection Act and Davis took exception to the use of the word “every,” writing “[Sen. Joe] Manchin, R-W.Va. [sic], voted no along with Republican senators on the measure. The vote was 49 Yes and 51 No." It’s ironic that Davis...

Explanation: It seemed like night, but part of the sky glowed purple. It was the now famous night of May 10, 2024, when people over much of the world reported beautiful aurora-filled skies. The featured image was captured this night during early morning hours from Arlington, Wisconsin, USA. The panorama is a composite of several 6-second exposures covering two thirds of the visible sky, with north in the center, and processed to heighten the colors and remove electrical wires. The photographer (in the foreground) reported that the aurora appeared to flow from a point overhead but illuminated the sky only...

Read the tea leaves. Get ready for the coronation of Michelle Obama as the Democrat nominee for President at the August DNC convention. The signs are everywhere. First, it’s clear now that Trump cannot be beaten by an old, feeble, feckless, decrepit man with dementia and diapers. Just this weekend Joe Biden spoke proudly of his response to the Covid pandemic while he was Vice President. Biden said President Obama sent him to Detroit to “fix it.” Uh oh. Someone has lost their mind. The Covid pandemic happened in 2020. Biden was last VP in 2016. He wasn’t sent anywhere...

In a book by pro-life writer Janet Morana, Mary Kominsky gives her testimony of abortion. Mary Kominsky had an abortion after the father of her baby abandoned her. It was before Roe v. Wade, but abortion was legal in New York. Misled by Planned Parenthood Kominsky went to Planned Parenthood, and the abortionist misled her about the development of her preborn baby. Kominsky says: Fear had led me to the belief in the lies surrounding abortion…After all, the doctor at Planned Parenthood told me it was just a clump of cells and tissue even though I was 11 weeks pregnant....

Claim: Hollywood star Bette Midler is pushing the left’s claim that Hillary Clinton has never questioned election results. In an X post on Sunday, the actress wrote: “Can you imagine what would have happened if Hillary Clinton had claimed the election was stolen?” Verdict: Misleading if not completely false. Bette Midler worded her post as a question — a seemingly crafty gambit to stymie fact checkers. But her intention is unambiguous: she wants people to believe Hillary Clinton has ever cast doubt on the outcome of an election. Can you imagine what would have happened if Hillary Clinton had claimed...

Why is the warm gas-giant exoplanet WASP-107 b so puffy? Two independent teams of researchers have an answer. Data collected using NASA’s James Webb Space Telescope, combined with prior observations from NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope, show surprisingly little methane (CH4) in the planet’s atmosphere, indicating that the interior of WASP-107 b must be significantly hotter and the core much more massive than previously estimated. The unexpectedly high temperature is thought to be a result of tidal heating caused by the planet’s slightly non-circular orbit, and can explain how WASP-107 b can be so inflated without resorting to extreme theories of...

May 17 (UPI) -- Wildlife trappers were called to a Florida school where an "absolute dinosaur of an alligator" came wandering up a path. An alarming study has spotlighted how 42 million food stamp recipients spend their welfare handouts on ultra-processed junk food. Coca-Cola, Sprite and other soft drinks are the most commonly-bought items via the $135 billion-a-year Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a new study says. Candy, potato chips, frozen pizza, ice cream, cookies, and other ultra-processed food dominates the top 20 items, says a report from the Economic Policy Innovation Center (EPIC). Report author Matthew Dickerson says recipients spend 'spend significant portions of their allotments on junk food.' These 'non-nutritious foods' include 'sugary beverages and ultra-processed foods, which can lead to poor...

If voters had their way, Donald Trump would pick one of his former 2024 primary rivals to be his running mate. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Sen. Tim Scott (R-SC) are the top two choices among people who gave their preference for whom the 77-year-old Trump should pick to join the GOP ticket this year, according to a new Harvard CAPS/Harris poll out Monday. DeSantis, who ruled himself out of being Trump’s No. 2 in February, was the pick of 12% of all voters surveyed and 23% of self-described Republicans. The 45-year-old Sunshine Stater was followed in the preference list...

Israel claims to have found about 50 cross-border tunnels underneath the boundary between Rafah, in the Gaza Strip, and Egypt — tunnels that could have been used by Hamas terrorists to smuggle in weapons to use against Israel. The Foundation for the Defense of Democracies noted on Friday: Israel went public on May 17 with the discovery of 50 smuggling tunnels leading from the southern Gazan city of Rafah to Egypt. Defending Israel against South African-filed genocide allegations at the International Court of Justice, attorney Gilad Noam devoted part of his remarks to the ongoing military operation in Rafah, a...

HEAVEN — According to sources in the celestial realm, God is scratching His head in wonderment that Democrats somehow managed to mess up California. "You guys were literally given everything! How do you even do that?" said a spokesangel for the Almighty. "You have perfect weather, beautiful coastline, great surfing, skiing in the mountains, fish tacos, rolling vineyards, the list goes on. How on earth did you manage to take the most beautiful stretch of land on God's earth and turn it into a huge dump?" "It doesn't make any sense." Sources say Democrats in California took issue with the...

In an interview with “60 Minutes” airing this Sunday, Pope Francis takes aim at his “conservative critics” in the United States, reportedly saying a conservative is someone who “clings to something and does not want to see beyond that.” “It is a suicidal attitude,” the pope said as reported by “60 Minutes,” which released a brief clip of the upcoming interview conducted by CBS’ Nora O’Donnell. “Because one thing is to take tradition into account, to consider situations from the past, but quite another is to be closed up inside a dogmatic box.”

Cornyn had negotiated the 2022 gun violence prevention law that the administration relied on for the ATF rule. Now he has 41 Senate Republicans who back his joint resolution to stop that rule. “Every time that they ask for bipartisanship, then if you provide bipartisan solutions, then they overreach and undermine any sort of good-faith negotiations that take place,” Cornyn said. Democrats have touted the rule, and the 2022 law the administration based it on, as a shining example of bipartisanship and a major step toward making background checks on gun purchases universal. In a floor speech Tuesday marking the...

Story from ~ 2 Months ago: One of the Army's top generals may have abused his authority and subverted the service's process for selecting senior leadership in what some officials have described to Military.com as a conspiracy to prop up a subordinate officer who was deemed unfit for command. A Military.com investigation found that Gen. Charles Hamilton, who oversees Army Materiel Command, spent about a month last year trying to pull strings behind the scenes for a female lieutenant colonel to breeze through the service's Battalion Commander Assessment Program, or BCAP. This included directly lobbying at least three generals on...
