While the anger was a bit misplaced, one can easily understand why liberals were furious that the now-deceased Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg didn’t step down before the 2014 midterm elections. After all, the writing was on the wall. In the sixth year of Barack Obama in the White House, Americans had gotten fed up with the Democrats and the Senate was poised to change hands. If Republicans were to take control of the Senate, they would stall any nominee the then-president chose to fill a vacancy on the court. Ginsburg was 81 at the time and had battled...

Police have two persons of interest in connection with the shooting death of a 13-year-old boy in Brooklyn that was apparently revenge for an Instagram live beating that the young boy was not involved in, according to police sources. Troy Gill was just a few blocks from his home in Crown Heights near Brooklyn Avenue and St. Marks Avenue around 10 p.m. on Feb. 29 when he was shot four times by rival gang members and left for dead, cops said. The boy had been to a Nets game earlier that night and desperately called his mother as he fled...

Representative Adam Schiff (D-CA) said Wednesday on CNN’s “News Central” that former President Donald Trump has “no appreciation” for any religious belief. Anchor John Berman said, “Donald Trump weighed in on Jews who vote for Democrats. He said, they hate their religion and should be ashamed of themselves. Donald Trump, who is not Jewish, telling Jewish people how to be Jewish, what’s your reaction to that?” Schiff said, “Well, only to someone who has no appreciation for really any religion, any religious group, or any religious belief could make a statement like that. He’s the last person in the world...

The overturning of Roe vs Wade in 2022 that returned the issue of abortion back to the states has failed to reduce the number of abortions, according to the latest research. According to a report released this week by the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, there were over one million abortions in 2023, the highest rate in more than a decade and a 10 percent increase in 2020.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) pressured the GOP to name the crime they are accusing President Biden of as they proceed with their impeachment inquiry. Ocasio Cortez noted the recent arrest of a former FBI informant for lying to the agency, fabricating the claim that Biden accepted a bribe while vice president to take actions to benefit the Ukrainian energy company where his son served on the board. “At this point, the story isn't the fact that the basis of this impeachment inquiry is wrong. The story is why it is proceeding anyway?” she asked, saying Republicans have “no charges.”

EXACTLY ONE WEEK before the primary election, the Associated Press dropped a bomb on the Senate campaign of Ohio Republican Bernie Moreno. The AP told Moreno’s campaign that it confirmed a profile on the “sex-and-swingers” Adult FriendFinder website had been established in 2008 by someone using Moreno’s email account from his car dealership. The Moreno profile was set up to search for “Men for 1-on-1 sex,” the AP reported. The subject matter and timing of the story were terrible for Moreno, a 57-year-old married man and father. He was about to appear on stage with Donald Trump to get a...

Former Texas Representative Ron Paul recently told Tucker Carlson that the public must prepare for an unprecedented “Black Swan” event this year. While discussing current political events on the Tucker Carlson Show, Paul reminded the former Fox News host how he predicted the conflict in Ukraine in 2014. However, Paul said something much bigger is coming, a significant event that would catch the world off guard and plunge society in chaos. “I think we’re reaching this point where some sudden thing is going to happen,” Paul began.

UPDATE 3/20: The man's body found yesterday in the Highland Park Reservior may have been there more than three weeks. A source tells Bob Lonsberry there is video showing the man there February 24. Rochester police don't believe he committed suicide. Meantime, Mayor Malik Evans says we may know late today whether the boil water advisory will be extended for parts of the city. The City was told by the EPA to cover the reservoir by 2009 but was given an extension until this year.

Policy violations that ordinarily would lead to firings instead resulted in promotions for officers responsible for protecting top congressional leadership. Corruption is endemic at the highest levels of the United States Capitol Police, especially among the special agents and officers who serve in the department’s dignitary protection detail, a Blaze Media investigation has found. Internal discipline reports show a pattern of officers failing upward. Proven instances of fraud, forgery, theft, perjury, and drunk driving on duty going back to the late 1990s led to promotions rather than dismissals and prosecutions, discipline reports obtained by Blaze Media show. High-ranking USCP officials,...

U.S. — Leaders in the Lone Star State awoke this morning eager to learn how they would be able to address the border crisis as a federal court once again flipped a coin to see if Texas would be allowed to enforce laws today. The daily routine, consisting of finding out whether law enforcement officers would have the power to enforce laws depending on the whims of different federal judges, has swung wildly from one day to the next, leaving Texas officials wondering which side of the argument currently had the advantage. "Step right up for the daily coin flip...

In this line of work, we frequently have occasion to make use of articles from a variety of scientific journals when researching topics of interest. One of my favorite sources over the years has been the journal Nature, which covers a wide variety of science topics. Science journals can be of value, at least in part because they tend to cut through all of the partisan opinions and brouhaha and rely on actual data... or at least they used to. These days, however, it seems as if some science journals are getting a bit less "sciency" and dipping a toe...

VIDEOIn just 38 days as of this writing on April 27, my wife and I will be embarking to the ABC islands of the Caribbean again aboard the Celebrity Beyond. In September 2022 we made the same cruise aboard the Celebrity Equinox. In this video, I attempt to relay the incredible excitement of embarkation day. The moment we stepped aboard the Equinox we were enveloped in luxury which included the surroundings, the food, and the drink... lots of drinks as you can see. Embarkation day is always memorial. This time we are looking forward to catamaran sailings with our group...

Story after story has come out about the implosion in the EV market. As with many luxury goods, the market can quickly expand and just as quickly top out, as the latent market demand gets filled. This is what happened with electric vehicles, which appeal greatly to a small cross-section of the market, but not so much to the general car buyer. Our colleague, Beege has been on this beat and done an outstanding job, so I won't duplicate her work proving that the market for EVs has slowed dramatically. All you really need to know is that the market...

Akshay Thakur, 31, Pawan Gupta, 25, Vinay Sharma, 26, and Mukesh Singh, 32, were hanged at Delhi’s Tihar Jail today — four of the six* widely hated perpetrators of in infamous 2012 gang rape. On December 16, 2012, a 23-year-old physiotherapy student and call center worker named Jyoti Singh was returning from the cinema with a male friend on a private bus in a South Delhi neighborhood when the five other passengers plus the driver sealed the doors and assaulted them. After the man was knocked out with an iron rod, the five passengers turned on Singh and horrifically gang-raped...

French bulldogs. U.S. dog owners. C'est l'amour. Frenchies remained the United States' most commonly registered purebred dogs last year, according to American Kennel Club rankings released Wednesday. The club calls the Frenchie the most popular breed, though other canine constituencies may beg to differ. Is it a coup to be celebrated? Au contraire, say longtime fans who rue what popularity is doing to the breed. Nevertheless, after lapping Labrador retrievers to take the top spot in 2022, the bat-eared, scaled-down bulldogs held on in the new standings, which reflect puppies and other dogs that were added last year to the...

I swear, if you don't laugh once in a while in politics, you'll spend all day crying ... or screaming. And this story will make us do all three, and not in that particular order. The Biden administration desperately needs to get Israel to slow down and let Hamas off the hook in Gaza, because ... Dearborn, apparently. Benjamin Netanyahu and 82% of Israelis are telling Biden to pound sand, so Biden wants to look for some alternative for the IDF that doesn't involve the actual destruction of Hamas, at least not before the elections in November. Their latest idea?...
